Your new favorite girl group FIESTAR finally debuts with ‘Vista’

First they slayed us with “Sea of Moonlight”, and then they snatched our wigs with “Wicked”. Now FIESTAR are giving Crayon Flop a serious run for their money as the greatest girl group of all-time with the long-awaited release of their first maxi-single, Vista.
As I suspected from the group’s teaser video, “Vista” has some definite similarities to other artists from the LOEN Entertainment family. The flirty Latin influences of the song recall Ga-In’s defining solo album, while the quirkiness and rich instrumentation is pure Sunny Hill.
The music video follows a similar style to what we’ve come to expect from LOEN. It’s vibrant, quirky (again), and just n overall far more interesting take on a typical K-Pop video.
Oh, and did I mention that the gorgeous Junsu makes an appearance in the clip? FIESTAR are like magnets for South Korea’s most talented stars. First IU, then Tiger JK, and now Junsu. By the time their next video rolls around, we’ll probably see them getting crunk and pussy popping with Insooni.
While it’s quite easy to compare FIESTAR to some of LOEN’s more established stars, the group still manage to come off as fresh and original. If Sunny Hill are the art school misfits of K-Pop, then FIESTAR are like the hipster A Pink. They’ve got a girlish charm and approachable feel, but there’s a cool edge and unique style to the group which helps them stand out against the rest of the crowd.
All-in-all, FIESTAR are frickin’ amazing. But they’re still no Crayon Flop!
