Wyclef Jean wants The Fugees to get back together!
There’s been a whole lotta drama surrounding Hip-Hop supergroup The Fugees these past few years, with most of it stemming from the groups most famous member Lauryn Hill, but that hasn’t deterred Wyclef Jean who’s admitted in a recent interview that he’d love to see the band reunite.
“Yeah. And it’s actually a good question, because people within hip-hop don’t really care about groups like that, you know what I mean?,” Jean said in an interview with DJ Booth. “Once you’re done in hip-hop, you’re done. But somehow the Fugees is the soundtrack to everyone’s house. What I’m hoping is that this group really gets inspired by the new movement that I’m on right now, with the whole Warriors movement, the new music that I’ve got comin’ out, the movement with the youth, and I’m hoping they’ll get inspired and be like, ‘Yo, let’s find Clef and let’s get this thing crackin’.’ And it would be an honor to go in and make it a super album.” [source]
I guess Wyclef has forgotten what member Pras said about Lauryn Hill back in 2007 then?
“Before I work with Lauryn Hill again, you will have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and [George W.] Bush in Starbucks having a latte, discussing foreign policies, before there will be a Fugees reunion.”
There’s certainly a lot of money to be made in a new Fugees album, with their 1996 sophomore album The Score selling almost 20 million copies and being considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Same goes for Lauren Hills solo record The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill to.
Do you think they’ll get back together. I don’t, but I can dream.

I’m like praying they get back together and The Fugees are the only thing my parents and I like that is the same so hopefully they get back together. Lauryn Hill needs help though there were pictures of her a few years ago and she looked like a crazy clown.

I’d say let it go. Like I really have given up hope for them. Not for Clef because he’s always on the grind but Lauryn she’s on something else. First of all how does anyone expect her to follow up Miseducation? To be honest I don’t think anyone expects her to, but what else would be left for her to say?I think to me it presents an interesting challenge. I was so gun-ho for the reunion back in 2007 and they even had the nerve to hype me up by performing on the BET awards but I’m not buying it until I can get a physcial copy of the album in my hands. That’s the bottom line.
