will.i.am is still trying to make Cheryl Cole a star in America

Now it’s crystal clear why this whole Girls Aloud reunion thing is just a one-off. According to Snoop Dogg, he’s been approached by will.i.am to work on Cheryl Cole‘s next solo album, which will have an urban sound tailored to the American market.
“I will work with Cheryl, that is for sure,” Snoop told the Daily Star. “It’s going to happen. Hip-hop sells in America and that is the direction her manager will.i.am wants to take her.”
“I have already talked with him about collaborating with her on her next album and I am down with it. He’s got some big names planned for her and is talking with Eminem as well. It’s going to get real big for Cheryl.”
Pop stars can’t sell urban music any more, but I assume by “hip-hop” will.i.am probably meant something like Cher Lloyd’s “Want U Back”.
So hood.
In addition to Snoop Dogg and Eminem (bwahahaha), will.i.am is also still trying to get this forever talked about Cheryl Cole / Rihanna duet off the ground. Not that anyone should trust anything that will.i.am says in the first place though. Just like with 2NE1, he’s been talking about breaking Cheryl in the States for years now, yet nothing has happened for either act. How many times have we heard that 2NE1 have something huge planned for their English album, or that Cheryl is recording with some big name superstar to crack the American market?
It’s time for Cheryl to kiss her solo career goodbye and just rejoin the flaw-free Girls Aloud for good. It’s not like she even does that well in the UK any more. Her albums and lead singles have big first weeks and then plummet down the charts, the second single always tanks, and then the rest of the promo for the album is scrapped due to lack of interest from the public.
Note to all members of Girls Aloud: forget all this solo nonsense and just stay together as a group! Ain’t #no1curr for your weak solo projects. Plus, America doesn’t need any more ‘singers’ that are so used to miming they forget to actually sing when on stage.
