Watch Nicki Minaj channel Heidi Montag in “Starships” video

Nicki Minaj has finally gotten some taste!

After spending the past year ripping off the insufferable Lady GaGa, the singing sack of silicone has now turned her gaze towards the Plastique Princess of Pop, Heidi Montag.

Nicki’s new music video for “Starships” is clearly a homage to Heidi’s debut anthem “Higher” and her underrated classic “Blackout”. The similarities between the videos are almost identical, but there are a few small differences. The main one being that Heidi’s videos were filmed before her iconic 10-surgeries-in-one-day, so the former Hills stars comes off looking like quite the natural beauty when compared to the artificial Nicki.

Nicki has always been more porn star than pop star anyway, so fans of the adult film actress will get a thrill watching her shake her inflated cantaloupe titties and rump roast derriere on the beach like a new money video ho.

Heidi did it first!

Isn’t it funny that Heidi’s cheap videos were just filmed on a camcorder by Spencer Pratt, while Nicki’s clip was done by a famous director with major label funding, yet the videos are essentially the same?

Big money marketing wins again! Universal’s laughing all the way to the bank while the foolish public eats this shit up.

    Lol stop. I know you hate Nicki, but no, this is not “essentially the same thing as Heidi’s video”. This has more to it and an actual production video. Heidi didn’t invent Beaches. Starship’s says “let’s go to the beach” and it’s a fun non-serious pop song. It doesn’t need to be anything more than her having fun on an island destination dancing around in a bikini. If a pop star you liked did it, you wouldn’t care. 

    I haven’t even liked Nicki lately (mostly because of her shitty performances) but this isn’t even bad, for what it is. A pop video for a pop song. I actually love it. I love all the different shots and the cheap silly spaceship at the beginning.

    I would be losing my shit if it were a Britney video. (So would you btw)

     Britney already did a beach video. It’s called Don’t Let Me Be The Last to Know and it’s classy and beautiful. It wasn’t some hooker stuffed with plastic shaking her saggy rump to one of RedOne’s most basic and generic songs.

    Have you actually listened to the lyrics of Starships? It came on the radio the other day and I did for the first time.

    And wtf does Starships have to do with anything? Starships were meant to fly? Hands up and touch the sky? Wtf?

    She should of just stuck with Va Va Voom as the first single, that way a cheap last minute video like this would not come out two months after it’s peak.

    Didn’t see any Heidi in that video, but I definitely saw Queen Ke$ha’s holy influence…the glow in the dark paint and psychedelic imagery SCREAMED “Your Love Is My Drug.”

    Anyways, I liked it for what it was…a fun pop video, nothing more, nothing less. I’ve actually really enjoyed the Pink Friday…Roman Reloaded album since it came out, which shocked me because I didn’t like Pink Friday at all. I think Nicki’s biggest problem is the fact that she is not a dancer, by any means of the word, yet with half of her new album being dance-pop it’s really hard for her to come off as a capable performer when all she’s really doing is stomping around on stage. She’s got charisma, she just doesn’t have the dance skills to pull off dance-pop numbers live, and it hurts her cred even more when the majority of her performances are lip-synched and she makes absolutely no effort to hide the fact. Then again, neither does Rihanna, Katy, or Britney, and they don’t seem any worse for it.

    it’s not really good, it’s super generic, which makes sense since this song is one of the most generic on the album.  still laughing though…

    Both are flops . Nicki new video is  awful. You cant marry a green wig and a pink bikini, it hurts my eyes. Plus,  pink cream as water, sand on her arms look non-hygienic to me.

    What the fuck is this. It’s like a Hype Williams video.
    When I think of Starships, I don’t imagine a Nicki rolling around on a beach with colourful hairdos. Probably would have been better to stick her face on Ashanti’s Space video.

    I must say that Proph is a bit prejudiced. What exactly has Nicki done wrong that Heidi hasn’t? For me, the only difference is that Nicki writes her own songs and actually makes some effort with promotion, performances and her fan-base. Admittedly, she’s a bit tacky and ‘thrill-seeking’, but so’s every other female pop star. I’m sick of seeing posts like this just because Proph has decided it doesn’t like her (for no real reason other than her tits, apparently)…

    i think that’s a pretty fuckin fun little concept that was executed in a fun pop sort of way.
    Revolutionary, No. Epic in a detailed 5 minute Gaga type of way, No.
    but i think it does it’s job excellently =)

    and why’s everyone so negatively OBSESSED with her body? if you really have such an issue with it don’t watch her god damn videos, shit. LoL
