This December, Oscar-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, country music superstar Tim McGraw and rising singer-actress Leighton Meester will light up the screen in the country music biopic, Country Strong.
In the movie-musical, Paltrow plays Kelly Canter, a washed-up country singer who’s fresh out of rehab and looking for a comeback. Along with the help of her husband and manager (played by Tim McGraw), Kelly sets out on a comeback tour, but falls into trouble when dealing with an aspiring singer-songwriter (Georgia Rule’s Garrett Hedland), a beauty queen turned country star (Leighton Meester) and her own unsolved personal issues.
Music will play a huge part in the film, with an official soundtrack in the works. Two singles the set are already on their way, with Sara Evans’ “A Little Bit Stronger” and Gwyneth’s own “Country Strong” due for release soon..
There’s no doubt that “Country Strong” could end up being one of the best movies and soundtracks of 2010, and I for one am shaking and crying as I wait for it’s release. Check out the trailer below, and take note of Gwyneth owning Leighton right at the end!
