Vanessa Carlton performs new single “Carousel” with Stevie Nicks.

Vanessa Carlton is back, bitches. The talented three-hit-wonder recently signed with NYC based label Razor & Tie, home of 80s hair metal band Twisted Sister and the annoying Kidz Bopz compilation albums. She’s now got a new album Rabbits on the Run dropping on June 21st, and a brand new single “Carousel”.

The studio version of “Carousel” isn’t out yet, but Nessie performed it live with Miss Stevie Nicks back in February for Sunset Sessions, and now the professional footage from the performance has been officially uploaded onto Youtube. Half of the video is actually less singing and more ‘Story Time with Stevie’, as the Fleetwood Mac frontwoman gets on the mic and shoots off a tale about hearing “Carousel” for the first time, and how her hot nephew hit on Vanessa during Christmas dinner. She finishes with some heartwarming praise of Vanessa, who she dubs “one of the great ones”, and talks about how much she adores “Carousel” — probably because it sounds so much like one of her own songs.

It’s a lovely little tune, so take a listen below.

I thought this was a pretty cool performance. It would be nice if she recorded this track with Vanessa for the album too.

Vanessa is insanely talented and I too can’t wait for the new record. I’m not expecting big things for it, but I hope it sells pretty well. She’s criminally underrated.

I hope at least one of Vanessa’s new singles does really well on the charts and that her album is really successful. As SpeakUp said, she is criminally underrated!
