Usher unveils “Versus” album art.

Today Usher released the official artwork for his new EP/re-release thingy Versus (due August 24). It will feature about eight or nine tracks, and will be able to be purchased individually or packaged with his album Raymond Vs. Raymond - just like Lady GaGa’s The Fame Monster. {source}

The EP’s Pitbull-assisted first single “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” has already been released, debuting at #19 on this weeks Billboard chart. The next single is the Polow Da Don-produced “Hot Toddy”, featuring Jay-Z and Ciara. It’ll be aimed towards the urban market and is scheduled to hit radio early next month.

Are you excited for this? I love the pink cover, but personally, I’m just checking for the Ciara feature and that’s it.

I never even knew this was coming.

i hope he has more shirtless pictures for the album booklet.

Raymond vs. Raymond had some good tracks, but overall it wasn’t that great. I’m only checking for Ciara too lol.

  • Becca

wait why is “Versus” repeated so many times? it looks stupid.

  • Baidar

same here,Im checking HOT TODDY because of Ciara and that fact that Polow produced it.

  • Lindsey

This EP will probably be better than the regular album though. I like the songs I’ve heard so far.

  • LILD

The artwork is SHIT!! i’m only interested in Hot Toddy because id like to see what type of song usher and ciara make! im hoping for a fast paced song that is danceable.
I saw on UltimateCiara that Gimme Dat is getting sent to US radio this tuesday does that mean the single wil be out either this tuesday or next tuesday? cant wait for that video!

    I like the cover
but I thought is was gonna be similar to Raymond v raymond
I guess he’s counting this as a stand alone ep more that a deluxe edition
it’s so weird coz we’ve already heard dj got us fallen in love, somebody to love remix, got in my car, lingerie, there goes my baby and she don’t know which leaves like only 2 or 3 new tracks
damn that but I am too checkin for the Ciara and jay features coz that song is sure to be fire like run this town but with to singers and 1 big lipped rapper

    the cover is lame
Hot Toddy better be hot but if Jay-Z raps a verse in the song, then i dont think it will be a dancefloor killer

The deluxe comes with Versus does it not? Cover is very OMG too lol…

  • tomase

chile, everyone is only checking for Ciara on this album besides that who care? i dont

  • muziqjunkie

the cover looks more like a single cover rather than a cd cover but anyways I’m excited for the whole thing

  • Lucy

I think they will truly snatch a Best Rap Sung collaboration at the Grammys nomination….I still think ESOM will win but it could be close. Gimmie Dat is not going to radio July 27th because it’s not on All Access or FMQB for adds so that’s false

Prophet, it’s spelled ‘Versus’, not ‘Verses’.

  • http://www.theprophetblog.net The Prophet

Thanks Sean, I’m such a birdbrain sometimes haha.

  • http://notanothermusicblog.wordpress.com Seán

LOL, I’m afraid you are! It’s written seven times on the album cover and you still spell it wrong!!!

Don’t blame you though, it’s a really horrible album cover. A bit like the OMG one. I stupidly purchased Raymond V. Raymond rather than give it an illegal download first so I won’t be buying this. Usher has gone in such a commercial generic direction…it’s hard to differentiate between himself, Taio Cruz and Jay Sean. The only tracks I liked were Lil’ Freak, There Goes My Baby and Mars V. Venus. Everything else was disposable.

    He’s such an little monster

  • Lucy

Usher was a crossover superstar in his career without trying to be but times have changed. A song like LITC would have a hard time going to #1 nowdays so Jive is working him with the times

I just wanna hear “Hot Toddy” cause of him & CiCi :D
