Umm… Shakira signs with Roc Nation

Shakira has switched her management over to Roc Nation, XXL reports.

The iconic Colombian diva now joins the likes of Rihanna, Melanie Fiona, and Wale over at Jay-Z’s company.

It’s a fairly calculated move from Shakira, who has been working hard on making a huge comeback after She Wolf bombed and Sale el Sol failed to set the US charts alight, despite being a huge seller internationally.

Judging by the list of producers Shakira’s been working with on her new album, it looks like she’s planning to return to the charts in a major way by reinventing herself as a Top Forty dance diva. She’s already been in the studio with the likes of Afrojack, Tiesto, RedOne, Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Benny Blanco, and she’s also brought in underground club queen Venus X as a creative director for the album to keep her sound fresh and cutting-edge.

Now that Shakira’s a Roc Nation girl, she’ll also have access to the many songwriters and producers that the company manages, including Chase & Status, Stargate, Switch, No I.D., and Ester Dean.

Big things poppin’ for Shakira this year!

    Still, she’s changed so much but has somehow being able to retain some of her original traits, signing to Roc Nation and that ilk may just snuff that out. Its hard to believe as it is she’s the same person who made this in 96  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raTrqto72fw

    Actually, all the rumors are her working with those people are FALSE. She tweeted the other day she was just beginning to record her new album. She did work with Afrojack though, but for his own album.

    I’m not sure if I believe it 100%. She might have been listening to demos from them or getting material from them. But that doesn’t mean it will make the final album, but I believe a lot of these people were ‘tested’ as potential collaborators.

    I want Shakira to make a huge comeback so bad! I was watching some MTV live performance countdown yesterday and her performance of “Waka Waka” at the EMA’s was really good! She’s such a nice, beautiful and intelligent person too! I wish i had “Sal el Sol” but it wasn’t even released in the UK SMH.

    P.S How angry is Beyonce gonna be that the woman she’s been trying to morph into is now working with her husband while she’s at home getting puked on?! lmaoooo WAKA WAKA HOE.

    Shakira is tha bomb, doesn’t matter if she is number 1 on charts, her best sales on her tour where in USA so guess who actually run the world, and I bet if she want’s to go to dance she will do it in her way she already did it on “She Wolf” she will do it again but with a top forty twist to it, I just can’t wait to see with what she will come from after “She Wolf” and “Sale El Sol”, I love everything she does, she makes solid records doesn’t matter if they have big sales or not (who have big sales these days…that is not Adele lol) so I can’t wait to see what she will bring us with this new management

    Good for her. She’s finally had enough of her label treating her like a peasant. This should have happened years ago! Even with over 60 million albums sold world-wide and 10 Grammy’s, it wasn’t enough to get respect from her label.

    Glad that she’s making some major changes! Shakira’s litterally one of the best performers out there, and DESERVES to be on top of the charts! “She Wolf” and “Sale el Sol” are two flawless albums!

    Oh, and that picutre reminds me, I need to watch her concert DVD! I bought it like months ago, but was too busy to ever watch it! lol

    I hope this is the beginning of a good year for her. She has so much talent and deserves ww fame. But, I am worried because RN doesn’t have much success. The only huge star they have is that dumb ass Rihanna. For someone as big as Jay, he should have more that 1 a-list star.
