UK CHART: Pixie Lott comes out on top, The Saturdays trump Leona Lewis

With the UK having a rather short attention span when it comes to their new favorite pop tarts, I naturally assumed that Chris Crocker look-a-like Pixie Lott had reached her long-overdue expiry date by now; I was wrong, with Pixie’s hideously uninteresting new single “All About Tonight” winning this week’s UK chart battle to debut at No. 1. The mediocre blonde fought off some seriously stiff competition, beating out The Saturday’s fabulously fierce “All Fired Up”, and Leona Lewis’ controversial new single “Collide”.

It’s not all bad news, though; while The Saturday’s unfairly missed out on the top spot, they did manage to debut at No. 3, scoring their highest-charting single since last year’s hideous “Missing You”. But the most shocking part about this week’s charts isn’t that The Saturday’s avoided another flop – it’s that Leona Lewis came out as this week’s biggest loser, being beaten out by both Pixie and The Sats to debut at No. 4 with the classy “Collide”, marking her lowest-charting lead single ever. Only two of Le-Lew’s singles have ever charted lower in the UK: her Spirit repackage single “Forgive Me” at No. 5, and Echo’s “I Got You” at No. 14.

To rub salt in the wound, the less-popular Saturdays had to settle for promoting “All Fired Up” on morning television, while Leona got the privilege of a no-expenses-spared showing on the launch episode of Simon Cowell’s new game show ‘Red Or Black?‘.

Has Leona’s plagiarism scandal with Avicii really hurt her this much? Is her popularity starting to decline now? Or are people just not feeling “Collide”? Le-Lew can be a bit hit-and-miss, but “Collide” is lovely and certainly a lot better than Pixie’s “All About Tonight”, which sounds like the cheapest possible RedOne/Dr Luke leftover scrap ever made.

I think Leona confused her fans with “Collide.” For at least half the track, it doesn’t sound like her and its a bit of a turn off, despite the fact that the single is decent. “Collude” has done nothing here in the States and I doubt it ever will. :(

ugh! pixie lott reminds me of jessie j as they are both annoying as hell. and non of their songs are worth listening to.

is leona lewis still marketed as the next mariah?

think so.. this time the sexy post-divorce Mariah..

All Fired Up should’ve been no. 1 followed by Collide!

Lmao Chris Crocker look-a-like. I actually though she look like Gwen Stefani in some of the scenes with that long hair.

I actually really like Pixie Lott’s song o.o It’s cute and catchy. But, yeah it does sound like a RedOne leftover.

I could see why Leona didn’t reach higher. The song doesn’t really have much of mainsteam appeal. I guess.
And Yay! for The Saturdays! ;D

i dun like Pixie Lott’s All About Tonight. it’s so mediocre.
All Fired Up is so much better while Collide has more classy taste than the others. And it’s just the beginning !

    uhmmmm no jessie j please!

dont get me wrong i like leona but why do they need to market her as the new mariah when the old one is still slaying!

I’m going to rant for a second… Leona Lewis’s team should have release Glasshearts when she released Echo. Collide should have been her first single and everything, and the whole dance dupstep era would have been out there. 1 It would have been completely different and if it would have flop, which it probably would then we would have considered it the Rated R of her career. Basically saying she took an artitic risk and then went back to her roots/song for her next LP. 2 Then release an LP like Echo but more soul and less rando pop, and have Let it Rain as the lead single.

She started out with so much fire in the beginning and now it like everything else that’s being release is underwhelming to say the least.

and in other news…Melanie C’s new single debuted at #95…WOMP WOMP

The Saturdays deserved that #1 Spot and WE ALL KNOW IT!!!!! I still listen to the “All Fired Up” Remix album daily!!!

Leona…meh. The song’s nice, but does nothing for me.

Why did “All About Tonight” even make the top 10??? It’s soooo friggin awkward watcihng Pixie Lott p*ssy poppin with no pants on. She’s got a hot body, but she’s not really sexy……at all.
But I did like “Gravity” off the first album tho.

No offense since i am a fan but Mariah hasn’t been “slaying” since “The Emancipation of Mimi” and that was… 3 albums ago. Nobody has been marketing her as the new Mariah, that’s just what the media was saying when she was on XFactor because she had a great voice…

Mel C gets no airplay whatsoever… sadly.

I think “All fired up” should have been No1 but you know all of Girls Aloud (by which i mean Cheryl) is out there buying copies of “All about tonight” to stop them hitting No1 LOL
Leona should have been No2 but nevermind, “Collide” is too classy for the masses but No4 is still good and it might still rise.

I don’t understand why did people buy Pixie’s trashy song instead of buying Leona’s amazing Collide or Sats’ fierce AFU. smh.

Well, it’s not all bleak news. This week, One Direction release their single which means no one’s touching the #1 spot now, and The Saturdays’ sales are holding steady while Pixie Lott and Leona are starting to head downwards on iTunes. Staying power in the top 10: poor Notorious never even got a chance.

I don’t think All About Tonight was really all that bad….it’s just not #1 material, that’s all. We’ll see how their albums fare!

I don’t know that the fucking crap hit Pixie Lott that she make this awful song, after having such a cool record and songs before like “Cry Me Out”, “Mama Do” and “Boys & Girls” to have this bullshit and looking like bad she was looking beutiful before now this heavy make up that she have that looks she got help from Jefree Start to do it, a haircut that was made by Johnny Depp as Edward Scissor Hands and pussy pops that will make Beyonce and Rihanna blush it’s just crazy to even think this is the same girl of before.

I love “All fired Up” it’s my jam atm, oh and “Collide” is not an instant hit, it take time to grow on you, so that would explain why it didn’t debut higher, her older stuff were catchier.
