Uffie decides to play nice with Ke$ha… Kind of.

The internet’s been abuzz for a while now with claims that chart topper Ke$ha ripped off indie-artist Uffie for her hit single “TiK ToK”, and now almost a month after making some thinly veiled threats towards a certain so-called “knock-off” Uffie is changing her tune and admitting that she doesn’t want to talk bad about the singing dollar sign.
“Well, I didn’t know about it until people kept saying, ‘Have you heard this girl who stole your song?’ There are definitely some similarities, but everybody is influenced by something and everyone samples stuff. I’m not saying I’m down with it, but I’m not going to talk s**t about her. What she does isn’t my kind of music, so I’m not going to pay attention to it.”
“Yeah, there’s some guy who played them at the same time and apparently only the words are different. There’s a definite similarity there.” {source}
I guess Uffie has forgotten that she said she planned to “wipe the floor” with Ke$ha?
Oh well. I like them both!
Anyways Uffie’s long-awaited debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans will drop this Spring, featuring production from French DJ Feadz and Mirwais who’s best known for his work with Madonna.
As for Ke$ha she just racked up her eighth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “TiK ToK”, which gives her the longest running #1 debut single by a female artist since 1977.
