Timbaland: “Lady GaGa took my style. Ciara is the next Aaliyah.”

The increasingly crazy Timbaland was on the Ed Lover show last week to promote his new album Shock Value II, where he somehow ended up accusing pop singer Lady GaGa of stealing his style *blank stare*.

“What’s her name GaGa b-bla-bla? Yeah I wanna work with Lady GaGa, me and her are kinda the same style. I feel like she took my style [pauses] and ran with it which is smart. I would do the same thing. I’ll put her on the repackage coz I’m a do a repackage. “

So what that I can gather two things:

1. Timbaland is re-releasing Shock Value II.
2. Timbaland is delusional.

The super producer then went on to say that R&B is dead, but he’s impressed with Ciara whom he’s dubbed “the next Aaliyah“.

“There’s no more R&B, so all I listen to is baby girl [Aaliyah]. I was excited about Ciara. I gave her my blessings because she was in the right footpath, the right footsteps as I would say. I think that she was going in the right direction and I love her to death. People would say “Ciara’s the next Aaliyah” – yes she is. She keeps my girl alive, so when I hear Ciara a tear come out my eye, coz I’m like “wow, she ain’t forgotten”.”

That sound is still gon’ be heard… These kids who don’t know [and know] Ciara will go “Who she sound like? Baby girl Aaliyah” and then they go back and buy the Aaliyah stuff and be like “Aaliyah sound better than her” or somethin’. The point is Aaliyah won’t be forgotten”.

Did anybody notice Timbo using the past tense in that? Was he not a fan of Fantasy Ride? Anyway say what you will about Ciara and Aaliyah, but you can’t deny that what Timbo said is a pretty major compliment when coming from the man who crafted the classic Aaliyah sound.

Now let me use this post as an excuse to post some old Aaliyah. Check out one of my personal faves “Loose Rap” below.

  1. Bobby Says:

Well it is now official .. I believe Trey Songz literally invented sex more than I believe anything Timbaland says.

  2. The Prophet Says:

    hahahahaha

  3. Lashae Says:

    I hate this fat fuck!
I’m glad he’s flopping. With his lame stale ass 2006 beats.
He’s the ONLY famous person who I despise…he makes my blood boil.

  4. bs Says:

so he gave them props and dissed them @ the same time.gaga and ciara dont need need a timbo beat tricky and danja do it betta

  5. Sha Says:

LOL seriously what the hell is wrong with timbaland?? How da hell did he come to the conclusion that gaga stole his “style”. Is he on something, crazy or is he just that arrogant?

He said before that Miley cyrus is the next Justin timberlake too lol

  6. Lashae Says:

    @bs… ITA!
    That’s what pissed me off.
He gave them both props then threw shade at the same time.

  7. The Prophet Says:

    Stop throwin shade at Miley!

But yeah I don’t understand the GaGa thing AT ALL. You could accuse her of jacking peoples styles but Timbo is LAST on that list lol

  8. The Prophet Says:

Well no shade but Aaliyah shits on Ciara, and I’m a Ciara stan lol. He was just being real.

  9. Sha Says:

Im not throwing shade…but come on Miley the next JT? WTF?????????

  10. The Prophet Says:

Lol I know. Nobody is the next JT! The only way you put JT and Next in the same sentence is when you say “JT IS THE NEXT KING”

  11. Sha Says:

king of what???? The king of exposing breast on national television??? Hmm okay! lol

  12. aaliyah ciara lauryn hill Says:

IDGI…what’s it to be upset about? He complimented my girl Ciara, and she’s in his good graces. Yes he used past tense, but only bcuz he probably felt she was going the more pop route ex. FR…IMO, opposite of Aaliyah. I’m sure tho w/ her 4th album he will get more of the Aaliyah vibe that he’s saunting over. But I must say this, why can’t we let Ciara be Ciara? Why does she have to live up to something she’s not, nor wants to be…but merely admires. How is she supposed to have her own identity when she’s always claimed as the next this and that?

But as for Lady Gaga stealing his style…WTF? *rolls eyes* Okay Tim….

  13. The Prophet Says:

I agree Ciara is just Ciara. She has a lot of influences from Jan and Aaliyah but she still has her own thing going. She is her own person.

  14. Lashae Says:

Aaliyah and Ciara are to totally different artists.
and NO Aaliyah absolutely does NOT shit on Ciara.
There was nothing Epicly special about Aaliyah except the fact that she was SUPER nice and sweet.

  15. JohnnyS Says:

i just hate when people i love say stupid shit like this. I’m one of Timb’s biggest fans. I think he’s an AMAZING producer and can make damn near ANYBODY’s album hot shit. Nelly Furtado and JT last albums were so amazing. omg. But Gaga stealing his style? What? I can’t even see how u could remotely clear that…

As for Ciera is the next Aaliyah….he clearly insulted Aaliyah. The ONLY thing Ciera is strong at is dancing. She can’t sing and her writing skills are very mediocre. She’s a back-up dancer with a record deal. Nothing more.

  16. reone Says:

I can’t believe you posted “Loose Rap”. Aaliyah made some amazing music and “Loose Rap” just has her entire aura all over it. It’s probably my favorite song by her and the icy and spatial vibe gives me the chills. The song is often overlooked which is why I can’t believe you posted it.

  17. reone Says:

@johnnyS I have to agree with you. Ciara has not one song that comes close to “One In A Million”, “Four Page Letter”, “I Care 4 U”, and definitely not the “Loose Rap”. I won’t say she’s just a back up dancer, but she definitely can’t come close to Aaliyah vocally. She might sometimes have Aaliyah’s look, but she has never matched her sound.

  18. ImHighPrice Says:

OMG, I love “Loose Rap” and I incredibly miss Aaliyah & I don’t feel Aaliyah insanely shits on Ci Ci, maybe vocally, but not dancing.

I don’t understand how an artist can steal a producer’s style, especially Lady GaGa but knowing this egotisitical, overrated freak, he probably thinks everyone in the world is jacking his style.

  19. bs Says:

Ciara has more hits then aalyiah check the charts bitchez all aaliyah highest hitz came from soundtracks

  20. stan Says:

im a ciara stan, but neither aaliyah or ciara are better than the other they are similar in style but not sound

  21. Eddie Says:

So sorry but no one will ever live up to Aaliyah.. She was truly the only one who truly knew real R&B…No one and I do mean no one will be able to replace her… There will only be one Aaliyah and may she rest in peace and her music live on…

OH an Timbo is retarded…Last time I checked his style and Lady Gaga is so different. At least Lady Gaga can release albums and make money at of good music…were as Shock Value 2 only has two or three good songs…CAN you say DRIVE-THRU NEXT>>>>> haha

  22. Andy Says:

WTF is wrong with Timbaland, I dont like all gaga’s songs, but she SHITS on his whole career! It’s probabaly the time of the year when he gets jealous on someone and throws shade on artist who are better then he is. Remember what he said about Gimme More, when Danja(his protege) started on his own and shited on his beats?

  23. Lisa Says:

I do think Ciara is the most similar to Aaliyah out of all the R&B chicks. There will never be another Aaliyah, but Ciara also has a uniqueness to her and you can tell she’s been inspired by females like Aaliyah and Janet. I don’t really know what to say about him saying GaGa stole his style? Is he talking about electropop? GaGa was not the first to popularize this sound again, so I don’t know why he’s acting like that. Her videos and outfits are what have set her apart.

  24. Carl Says:

LOL.. with the Aaliyah comment I think he was reffering to The Evolution album cos to me that had the most Aaliyah- like vibe. I still think this guy is full of shit though. AHHH.

  25. Lindsay Says:

lol, i kinda like how TGJ pulled a Beyonce and changed a few punctuation marks and jacked this whole blog post.

  26. The Prophet Says:

HAHA did they? They steal my shit every day. What’s hilarious is that this interview is from last week but nobody had picked up on it yet, so it’s obvious they got it from here.

I don’t even go to their shitty blog anymore because I’ll just see my posts up there like hours later. I’d rather just read it on my own site.

  27. den Says:

I was wondering why the titles were the same lol.
Think my favourite Aaliyah song is Rock The Boat.
    Timbaland is crazy.

  28. Mileka Says:

The Ciara diss was uncalled for for a grown ass man like him – he looks like he stinks of piss!
And LOL @ TGJ have they no shame?

  29. tmm09 Says:

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MY FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD! TIMBALAND BOYCOT FOR THE REST OF ETERNITY !

IGNORANT FUCK, AND I WOULD ALWAYS DEFEND HIM ! AND FOR THE PEOPLE WHO KEEP SAYIN THAT HE PRODUCED THE HITS FOR NELLYFURTADO AND JT ARE FOOLS. DANJA HAS THE CREDITS FOR NELLY’S GREATEST HITS! ‘SAY IT RIGHT’ AND PROMISCUOUS ! grrrr I’m deleting his album asap.. is he afraid of gagalooo or somethin? grrrr this frustrates meeee so much. Now I wish CHRIS BROWN will outsell FATTY TIMBO FACE JERK!

SCREAM AT THE TOP OF YOUR FUCKIN LUNGS TIMBO, IF YOUR FATE BODY CAN, CAUSE YOU KNOW SHE SLAYS YOU ON THE CHART at the moment.

My morning ranting is over !

  30. The Prophet Says:

TGJ are tacky classless birdbrain bitches. I left a comment calling him out for copying and pasting my transcription exactly and he deleted the comment lmfao

  31. Carl Says:

Is there no copyright type thing for blogs?

  32. The Prophet Says:

Hmm, probably only if it’s original content, like an interview or exclusive news. I don’t think you can stop people from copy and paste, or pulling a “beyonce” and changing two words.

  33. Halo 101 Says:

Timbaland is fool he lost his touch when Aaliyah died, comparing Ciara to Aaliyah is an absolute insult to Aaliyah.

@ bs Aaliayh didn’t need to have hits because she had CLASSICS… i.e. One in a million

  34. TMM09 Says:

    LET’S GET LOUD

  35. Lindsay Says:

It’s pretty hard to compare Aaliyah and Ciara though. Two totally different eras and style of music. I think most 90′s R&B has way more longevity than what has come out this decade. I can still jam to some TLC 10 years later, but Electrik Red…. no ma’am. #noshade i’m just sayin.

  36. Baila Holara Says:

Timbo was referring to Ci-Ci in both present and past tenses, like “I love her to death”, so I think he still likes her. I guess you could chalk it up to his poor grammar.

I don’t get which part of Timbo and Lady Gagme styles are similar. And what kinda style is he talking about? Image, beats, lyrics? because none of them seem similar to me.

And i would’ve never made a connection between Aaliyah and CiCi. “Loose Rap” is one of my favs of the album! It’s one of the few that I loved on first listen, with “We Need a Resolution” and “Extra Smooth”.

  37. BAM. Says:

Timbaland must be smoking some serious shit..and shooting up some major steroids to even ponder these ridiculous thoughts!

Uncle CiCi can’t even hold a note ok..the only thing she she night haven in common with the Great Aaliyah are looks and that’s when the camera plays tricks on ur eyes and the dancing ok…Gaga and this WACKJOB aren’t even on the same timeline fall back Timboot!

  38. SuperCi Says:

Ciara is not influenced Nor does she look up to Aaliyah. She stated
many times that the similarities are just natural and that she didn’t
    really listen to Aaliyah.

I loooooove Aaliyah but every since she died she has just been hyped
up to something she’s simply not. Her singing was good, but very
mediocre before her last album. Her dancing was mediocre and so was
her success. Did we forget We Need A Resolution and Rock The Boat was
    flopping before she died??

  39. BAM. Says:

Opps typo correction *she might have*

  40. Deva Says:

He’s lost his damn mind … Timbaland holds no weight in my book.

    Ugh @ SuperCi …

Aaliyah had great albums that I still jam today … I cant remember the last time I dug a Ciara record … OH WAIT YES I DO … ‘Promise’ … Anywho …

Her Aaliyah-Like style is what put me over for her in the first place when she came out, if she can go back to that and stop trying to be so damm prissy, she might go somewhere with the next record.

  41. Deva Says:

And … PROPHET YOU PICKED MY JAM WITH THE ‘LOOSE RAP’ … *grabs IPOD*

  42. SuperCi Says:

    @Deva

Where in my post did I say she didn’t?

  43. Erica Says:

Yeah..Loose rap was a cool song. That was my favorite album, sad..I found out she passed on my bday..being that she passed aug. 25, my bday aug 26…sad news to hear that day. I will NEVER forget that day!!! R.I.P. Aaliyah….

Ciara does remind me alot of her…no lie..Timbaland is just the proof, Ciara isn’t jacking her …but def. inspired, and there is nothing wrong with that. I hope Ciara’s next album does well.

  44. goons Says:

tim needs to just go to the gym and shut up!!

  45. kevin Says:

how did lady gaga steal his style she does pop and he does rap/r&b 3 different genres. so he’s going re-release Shock Value 2 and work with other artists. i hope his planned collabs. with ladygaga, kings of leon, kanye happen. what happened to him working with paramore hopefully that makes the re-release.

  46. kevin Says:

ciara while talented she will never be aaliyah. let her be her own person. i see janet jackson/aaliyah infulences but she’ll neer be them R.I.P. Aaliyah

  47. dodo Says:

i hope lady gaga rejects him as britney has done…
i can’t imagine timbo would be very angry…
he is too arrogant, talk less timbo, just make some good music…

  48. Brandon Says:

    TGJ ?????

  49. nickknickk Says:

    fuck no FUCK NO
ciara does NOT compare to aaliyah
aaliyahs r&b is so much better
ughh i hate him for saying
that but i guesss he knew aaliyah way
better than anybody so who knowz…..??

    r.i.p

OH I THINK KERi hilson sounds WAY
    more lyk aaliyah. way more.
especially where did he go. and intuition.
shez osm and writes her own songs lyk her.[=

  50. aaliyrah@myspace Says:

I have no comment about the ladycaca reference cuz I dnt listen 2 her music BUT I do not appreciate him comparing cierror to babygirl aaliyah! Aaliyah changed the game of rnb n she was on a whole nother level n was so original n shs the best n my book..@eriod! I see ciara imitating aaliyah n playing like its unintentional the similarities between them but I see her tryna be aaliyah n she will never sucseed its true what he said that when u hear ciara it reminds u vaguely of liyah then u hear liyah n see she’s way better! I still rock aaliyah she’s all I listen 2 n sade n there will never b another! Aaliyah will never b 4gotten!! Luv n adore u babygirl! Xoxoxo

  51. EbonyNicole Says:

Aaliyah had classic songs of the 90′s and the early 00′s! She may have not been epic or had many hits, but she still had a huge fanbase that like her for who she is! To me all of Aaliyah albums had a theme! You had something that made you feel and that made you dance! Aaliyah stay true to herself, music and fans! I bet you if she was alive today she will not try to run over to pop to have hits because its not always about making hits its about making good music and if you make good music you will have hits!
Lets face it, for the past 8-9 years music has went down to the dogs!

I was a big Ciara fan when her first album came out and now I just don’t want to hear her anymore! Reason why, she was the one chick that I can always listen to because Goodies was an album that had music that made you feel and dance at the sametime. The past two album Ciara just lost me!

  52. Brandon Says:

Lady “CaCa” is so predictable & un-comical, I Wish people would stop with that shit.

  53. bs Says:

at the end of the day yall are wrong 4 throwing ciara under the bus just because he said she reminds him of aaliyah .not one is better then the other and if aaliyah was still alive she would be more into actting then singing and her music would have became more rock and roll r&b.just let ciara do her

  54. aaliyah ciara lauryn hill Says:

I can’t belive the amount of Ciara shade on here, nobody is trying to diss Aaliyah by comparing Ci to her. It was out of the act of a compliment, and obvious similarities. and at the end of the day, don’t ya’ll think Tim knows best for he helped Aaliyah w/ her sound, molded and crafted her? His and Missy’s opinions on this matter should be the FINAL word…and that’s that! Also and finally, lord knows I LOVE Aaliyah, but c’mon she is not God! I’ve been a Aaliyah and Ciara stan since day 1 of their careers, and I don’t like the bandwagon comments. Let’s keep it 100%, although Aaliyah was a great artist she is not the best EVER…she’s not UNTOUCHABLE!! I feel that many are biased bcuz of her sudden death, and worship her as the queen of RnB bcuz she’s dead. We have to be real w/ ourselves, and view Aaliyah the artist as she was here on earth, and not this fallen angel that’s perfect in singing and dancing that’s in everybodies mind. Me personally, I feel Aaliyah is GREAT, but do not put her on this pedestal cuz she’s deceased (when everybody jumped on) RIP Aaliyah…and let Ciara be Ciara for a change

  55. Dave Says:

*AWKWARD SILENCE, GASP!* Ciara is Ciara; wasn’t isn’t never will be Aaliyah. Lady Gaga taking Timb’s style, that’s kind of a downgrade to his name cause all she is, is an it girl with catchy songs *smh*

  56. Dave Says:

I’m not even going to go on about the Aaliyah Ciara comparison’s the woman is no longer here & it’s disrespectful to speak on her name when she is no longer here.

  57. Hannah Says:

ok timberland, what ever old man

i don’t see how lady gaga can steal his style lol

i like ciara you know she inflenced by aaliyah & janet, she prove her self with the second album

i love aaliyah she one of the greats she knew how to fuse R&B with other genre without losting its soul, & janet jackson was aaliyah idol

but what i can’t stand is poeple like timberland & neyo saying R&B is dead, well stop making crap then

produce a great current R&B song then your the one with the means

  58. divatude Says:

aaliyah can sing tho she was a mediocre vocalist, ciara is just a dancer, aaliyah has a few r&b classics ciara doesnt except promise i guess, aaliyah is/was a multiplatnum artist ciara isnt so…

timbaland needs to shut up hes a sell out

  59. bs Says:

divatude yes ciara is a multiplatnum artist goodies sold 5million the evolution 3miliion…you said r&b classic lol aint no money to be made in r&b baby thats why artist do r&b pop

  60. divatude Says:

compared to aaliyahs sales i meant i like ciara but to compare ciara to a 90s artists just makes her look like trash

  61. nona Says:

Ciara does Ciara, not anyone else. people want her to JUST be r&b but she’s doing her and experimenting different genres of music. IMO, she’s most similar to Janet as far as career pattern and music/sound. That’s why I appreciated her Fantasy Ride project(tho many will beg to differ) because it was HER sound, not anyone else’s.

I feel a little shade thrown towards ciara from Timbaland using past tense. and why did he say he “gave her his blessings”? who the hell does he think he is? he’s doing too much. and Lady Gaga is NOT stealing is style! i hope she doesn’t work with him.

  62. nona Says:

    divatude,
Ciara’s referred to as a “multiplatinum recording artist”. Aaliyah isn’t because she didn’t sell that a lot of records, unfortunately. but i do miss her.

  63. nona Says:

correction: she didn’t sell a lot of records before she dies, unfortunately.*

  64. nona Says:

    died*

    lol

  65. Robier Says:

AWWWW TIMBO IS LOSING HIS MIND. HIS FIRST WEEK SALES WON’T HELP EITHER

  66. aaliyah stans Says:

    Ciara fans are LYING!

aaliyah sold mroe records than ciara

    aaliyah had more hits

ciara cant even get a hit without somebody being on it (missy, justin, etc)

    so shut the fuck up

    aaliyah sings better than ciara

  67. Alonso Says:

Actually, Aaliyah is considered a multiplatinum selling artist as well, and has sold more albums than Ciara has.

  68. ImHighPrice Says:

^^^DEAD @ THIS LATE ASS RESPONSE

YOU WAITED 3 MONTHS TO STATE INCORRECT INFO…CIARA’S FIRST TWO ALBUMS SOLD MORE THAN AALIYAH’S CAREER…NO OFFENSE TO BABY GIRL

  69. Tiggy Says:

@ high price. STOP lying. Ciara hasnt sold more than anybody.
    I Care 4 U-1x paltnum
    Aaliyah-2x platinum
    OIAM-2x Platinum
    AANBAN-1x platinum

    Goodies-3x plat
    evolution-1x plat
    Fantasy Ride- 180k

    aaliyah outsold ciara.

  70. T. K. W. Says:

@ Tiggy Aaliyah was a gifted young woman, but the reason why “Aaliyah” and “I care 4 U” sold is because she died. The “Aaliyah” cd was not doing too well before she died. I remember when Britney Spears first came out everybody was comparing her to Janet, but not in a negative way and some people compared Aaliyah to Janet also but not in a negative way. So why when people compare Ciara to Aaliyah why do in a negative way. I do not agree with everything Tim said and I do not think that Ciara acts like Aaliyah, but like he said when he see Ciara and listen to her he thinks of Aaliyah and he feels that Ciara is keeping her memory alive. Again Aaliyah did some nice dance moves, but during the time of Aaliyah’s death and even before she died the most popular female entertainer, besides Janet, was Britney Spears who was crowned the Princess of Pop and I take it that Janet doesn’t think any different, isn’t she the Queen? Also everyone was all on the Kanye and Tayor Swift incident, but if people would think they will realize that what he did to her is no different than what everybody is doing to Ciara and also Ashanti when she first came out, even though I don’t understand that because Ashanti was out with Ja Rule’s “Always on time” before Aaliyah even died, and no one started to compare her to aaliyah until her album came out after Aaliyah’s death. Ashanti was also writing songs before she even started making albums she wrote J-Lo’s “I’m Real” and songs for other artists before she even started making her own albums. Ciara also wrote “Goodies” which put her on the charts and she wanted to get a record deal when she was younger before Aaliyah even passed but waited until she was older. So even if Aaliyah would not have passed Ciara would still be here, because she wrote “Goodies” which put her on the charts and she also wrote most of the songs on the CD, how I know because I bought it. Another thing Aaliyah was not even making dance videos when she first started she really did not start showing her dancing skills until she got older. On the videos from her OIAM cd she did a few dance moves, but people did not really notice her cdancing skills until the “Are You That Somebody” video came out, but by that time is when Britney and Mya came on the scene and they were more flashy and fierce with their dancing, they had more of a Jackson style of dancing. I think the reason everyone compares Ciara to Aaliyah is because Ciara and Missy are friends and they make videos together and when people see that they think of Aaliyah. To be honest before he passed I always used to say that I wanted to see Michael J and Ciara dance together because that is whose style she has really. She is really the only female entertainer that can make those moves like him. Janet even said herself when was on 106 and park when Ciara’s “Get Up” was played, that it felt spooky for her to watch Ciara because it felt as though she was watching herself. If people were thinking straight they would realize the reason why they compare Ciara’s dancing to Aaliyah’s and Janet’s is because they know she can dance. Why do people compare Usher to Michael J, because they know he can dance. Why do people compare Usher, Omarion and Chris B., because they know they all can dance. I cannot get on stage or in a video and dance like anyone of these entertainers I mentioned in here, why, because I cannot dance. To be honest Aaliyah made some nice moves but she was not popular because of her dancing Ciara is popuar because of her dancing. Another reason why people talk about Ciara is because she is popular. I am not saying that they are trying to act like Aaliyah because I believe that everyone uses their gifts their way, but Cassie and Nivea style is similar to Aaliyah’s, but people don’t talk about them the way they do Ciara because thet are not as popular. Honor Aaliyah for what she did when she was here. Ciara is here the girl can dance her tell off, compliment her and give her some credit.

  71. AMusicFan Says:

    Oh brother…. **rolls eyes**

Lady Gaga copied Timbaland?? ROFL! Right….he is delusional. I remember he was blasting his protege Danja and Danja then worked with Britney to create the innovative “Blackout” album.

There’s no doubt that Lady Gaga was influenced by “Blackout” since she has admitted she is a fan of Britney’s and dove deeper into the electronic/dance genre. Timbaland has always created beats with: electronic beats with R&B and repititious rapping vocal sounds.

Gaga uses auto-tune and only electronic/dance beats.

By the way, if Gaga just copied Timbaland’s sound he should be having hit songs as much as Gaga, but he AIN’T! LOL

  72. AMusicFan Says:

What I meant to say was after Lady Gaga met with Rob Fusari and introduced her to electronic/dance, is when she was further influenced by Britney’s “Blackout” album and dove into electronic/dance.

In my opinion, him comparing Ciara to Aaliyah is a REAL STRETCH but they both have that “songbird” voice, and I could see where he’s getting that comparision.

Also, Timbaland… R&B isn’t gone its just evolved and not heavily influenced by the harsher hip-hop sound of the 90s that he’s so used to doing. It’s surprising he says that when he obviously lived through the 80s when the synthizer sound was prevelant in ALL genres of music. Take a look at Jody Watley, Pebbles, and Ready For The World in the mid to late 80s, sure they had electronic/dance beats but at its heart their music was still R&B and it was accepted by the R&B audience.

In fact even hip-hop had heavy electronic influences like Salt-N-Pepa’s “Push It” in the 80s, before incorporating a harsher sound in the 90s like “Shoop”.

I’m sure many commenters have noticed I make A LOT of references to the 80s with electropop dominating Top 40, but it makes sense since electronic music is popular and in my eyes its almost like history repeating itself. Where 2007-2008 when there were scattered electropop hits, it was like 1981-1982 with few synthpop hits (i.e. “Bette Davis Eyes” by Kim Carnes and “Don’t You Want Me” by Human League and “Make A Move On Me” by Olivia Newton-John), but in 2009 there seemed to be a deluge of electropop just like in 1983 with synthpop (i.e. “Flashdance” by Irene Cara, “Maniac” by Michael Sembello, “Billie Jean” & “Beat It” by Michael Jackson, “Little Red Corvette” by Prince, “Puttin’ On The Ritz” by Taco, “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics, “Hungry Like The Wolf” by Duran Duran, “The Safety Dance” by Men Without Hats, and…MORE)

Do you (The Prophet) agree with me? About how this electropop seems like history repeating itself on how the synthizer is influencing and spreading just like it did back in the 80s with synthpop?
