Usher’s new album/EP thing, Verses, hit stores this week, and along with his new record has come the official music video for his latest dance-pop single “DJ Got Us Falling In Love”.
The R&B megastar continues to push the boundaries of originality and innovation with the release of the “DJ…” video, which follows Usher and rapper Pitbull as they dance in some club. Then, they, um… Well, they’re like, partying in the club, and there’s music playing, and you know, they’re like, getting drinks at the bar and stuff…

The guy who sold out to dance-pop to get a hit, otherwise known as Usher, delivered the first live performance of his new single “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”, yesterday on Good Morning America.
It’s still a horrible song, and unless Usher was going to dance for four minutes straight, then nothing was going to make this interesting (for me, at least). However, he also performed his chart topper (and my guilty pleasure) “OMG”, which was actually much more enjoyable, since he delivered some much better dance moves, and the song itself is also much stronger than it’s watered down twin, “DJ…”.
While “OMG” can be found on Usher’s hit album, Raymond Vs. Raymond, “DJ…” is lifted from his forthcoming EP Verses. The single has been performing quite well on the Hot 100 and sits at #7 in it’s fifth week on the chart, so that should bode well for Verses when it hits stores this week. I pretty much stopped paying attention to this EP when news broke that Ciara’s feature on “Hot Tottie” had been scrapped.
The mindblowingly sexy Enrique Iglesias has selected the RedOne-produced Usher collaboration ”Dirty Dancer” as the second English single from his new bilingual album Euphoria.
“Dirty Dancer” will follow-up Enrique’s RedOne smash “I Like It”, which has already reached #6 on the Hot 100, becoming one of the biggest songs of the Summer.
Considering the success that Enrique’s had with the RedOne sound, combined with Usher’s dance-pop take with “OMG” and that new DJ song he has out, I’d say that this is going to turn into a sizeable smash. I’m not really a fan of the song, but I’m going to bite my tongue because I dismissed both “I Like It” and “OMG” as utter trash when I first heard them (they still kinda are), but then they became so inescapable that I found myself obsessed with them both. Fast forward 3 months later and they’re both on heavy rotation in my household!

Today Usher released the official artwork for his new EP/re-release thingy Versus (due August 24). It will feature about eight or nine tracks, and will be able to be purchased individually or packaged with his album Raymond Vs. Raymond - just like Lady GaGa’s The Fame Monster. {source}
The EP’s Pitbull-assisted first single “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” has already been released, debuting at #19 on this weeks Billboard chart. The next single is the Polow Da Don-produced “Hot Toddy”, featuring Jay-Z and Ciara. It’ll be aimed towards the urban market and is scheduled to hit radio early next month.
Are you excited for this? I love the pink cover, but personally, I’m just checking for the Ciara feature and that’s it.

Usher’s been busy playing around with dance-pop recently, but he hasn’t forgotten his urban fans, today premiering the music video for his latest R&B single “There Goes My Baby”.
The sultry slow-jam is one of the standout tracks from Usher’s 900k-selling Raymond Vs. Raymond album, and has turned out to be quite a hit on the charts, so far reaching #2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and #34 on the Hot 100.
The music video is just your typical R&B clip, but it’s also quintessentially Usher. He walks around with no shirt on, clenches his fists and makes out with a beautiful model. We’ve seen it all before, but it’s still pretty sexy.
Anyway, he’s probably saving up his budget to shoot something fancy for what he’s hoping will be his next international smash “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love”.

Usher’s latest LP ‘Raymond Vs. Raymond‘ is still in the top twenty of the Billboard charts (898,000 copies sold and counting), but he’s already moving onto his next disc, today announcing that he’ll drop a new album ‘Verses‘ on August 24.
The album will include eight new songs, and is being billed as the official “sequel” and “final chapter” to Raymond Vs. Raymond. It’ll be available to purchase on it’s own, or in a deluxe package with the Raymond album.
In other words: The Fame + The Fame Monster.
Leading off the is the new single “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” which features Pitbull and was produced by Max Martin. The song follows the disposable dance-pop sound of “OMG”, and is probably one of the least creative pieces of music that Max Martin has ever produced. He can’t be blamed though, as he was obviously told to follow a formula that is clearly working on the charts right now.
I’m not gonna lie though — “OMG” unsuspectingly grew on me after I was a total hater and viciously attacked it at every chance I got, but I really don’t see the same happening with his latest single.
Not to fear though, because soon Usher will release yet another single, “Hot Tottie”, produced by Polow Da Don. Polow was also responsible for “Lil’ Freak” — one of the best cuts from the Raymond Vs. Raymond LP — so “Hot Tottie” could possibly be a winner.
In the meantime, listen to the “DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love” below.

Usher appeared on Oprah Monday afternoon to perform that unknown Black Eyed Peas The E.N.D. B-side that somehow managed to go to #1 last week on the Hot 100.
It may not be the best song ever recorded in the history of the world, but it had the crowd of white, middle-age, middle-class mothers up on their feet shaking what too many twinkies gave them.
Even Oprah herself got in on the action, getting crunk on stage with Usher and Will.i.am and then later taking the mic for an impromptu karaoke session.
I don’t understand it, I don’t have to like it, but it’s happened, so now all we can do is acknowledge it and move on with our lives in the best way we know how.
At one point it was looking a little shaky for Usher and his career, but now we can officially no longer call him washed up or a flop after his frivolous dance-pop single “OMG” has shot to #1 on this weeks Billboard Hot 100 chart.
“OMG” is now the ninth #1 of Usher’s career, his first being “Nice and Slow” back in 1998.
Usher’s latest album Raymond Vs. Raymond is also selling very well. It topped the charts when it was released last month and has since gone on to sell close to 600k, enough to certify the album Gold.
As for this weeks official album chart, rapper B.o.B. has landed at #1 with his debut disc The Adventures of Bobby Ray selling 84k. It’s a huge achievement for the newcomer who already topped the singles chart for two weeks with “Nothin’ On You” and then found his follow-up “Airplanes” reaching the top ten.

Usher and that chick that Keys dissed, Nicki Minaj, premiered the video for their new single “Lil’ Freak” earlier today, with Usher hitting up BET’s 106 & Park to do the honors.
The video is basically Nelly Furtado’s “Maneater” minus the Nelly Furtado, but it’s still pretty good and it features cameo’s by Jamie Foxx and Ciara.
So far “Lil’ Freak” has been doing alright on the charts, reaching #43 on the Hot 100 and cracking the top twenty on the R&B charts. With so many singles floating around from Usher(“Hey Daddy”, “Papers”, “More”, “There Goes My Baby” and “OMG”) I wonder how his new album Raymond vs. Raymond will do it when it hits stores March 30.
By the way, “Lil’ Freak” was produced by Polow Da Don and penned by Ester Dean who are also doing Christina Aguilera’s new single “Not Myself Tonight”. I wonder if Aggie’s single will sound similar, or at least have the same sexy vibe?

Some of musics biggest stars were out today for the appropriately titled NBA All-Stars game in Texas.
Kicking it all off was Usher who performed “More”, “She Don’t Know” and “Yeah” at the pre-game opener, followed by sexy Shakira who shook her way through “She Wolf” and “Give It Up To Me”, and then Alicia Keys who followed Shaki with “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart”, “Empire State of Mind” and “No One”.

Slushy Ushy has just revealed the official artwork for his new album Raymond V. Raymond via his official website.
So far several singles have been lifted from the album, and whilst they’ve all failed to have a significant impact on Hot 100 all the songs have performed very strongly on the R&B/Hip-Hop singles charts.
The first single “Papers” hit #1 there last year, “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” is currently #19 (so far peaking at #17), and “Little Freak” featuring Nicki Minaj is shooting up the charts week-by-week, this week climbing to #39.
Will you pick up Raymond V. Raymond when it drops on March 30, download it for free, or just not bother?

After a rocky start R&B superstar Usher finally seems to have found his mojo in the music video for his new single “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)”.
I really wasn’t sure what to expect from this clip which is what made it such a welcome shock when I was so unexpectedly impressed. I absolutely love it, it’s probably one of my favorite video’s that Usher has ever done.
The dancing was incredible and really stood up against some of the top music video choreography that’s out there, and the clip really reflected the lyrics of the song with it’s simple yet engaging plot.
“Hey Daddy” is actually one of my favorite Usher singles ever and I think it’s such a sexy song, so I’m really happy that the video was done so tastefully and with a lot of class because after seeing other R&B music video’s like Beyonce’s “Video Phone” and Mario’s last clip with that sleazy threesome (whatever the hell it was called) my expectations weren’t that high.
I’m now really excited for Usher’s new album Raymond Vs. Raymond which was just rescheduled to be released on March 30.
