I don’t mind a few of Trey Songz’s tunes here and there (I’ll admit, his last album had some real bangers), but his new Nicki Minaj-assisted single “Bottoms Up” has to be the biggest pile of derivative urban garbage that I’ve ever heard. But, since I’m such a kind sweetheart, and I know that there are a lot of Trey & Nicki stans out there, I’ve pulled a Mother Theresa and posted the official video for you all. I mean, maybe if I was really drunk I could kind of lazily dance to this at the club while I waited for the next song to come on, so it’s not all bad.

According to Trey, the Anthony Mandler-directed video is “different” to anything that he’s ever done before. Maybe it’s different for him, but it basically looks exactly the same as every other Anthony Mandler clip out there. Mandler doesn’t even try to switch up that tired old lighting scheme that he’s used in his last twenty videos.

And, just when I was loving Nicki Minaj, she had to go and do this. *pouty sad face*

Maybe I’m just not intelligent enough to understand the beauty of “Bottoms Up”, as Youtube user TheSweet22401 stated in a comment they left on the video.

Makes sense.

So far, “Bottoms Up” has reached #21 on the R&B charts. It’s taken from trey’s fifth album Passion, Pain & Pleasure, which drops September 14.

Remember when Trey used to do cute songs like “Can’t Help But Wait”?

R&B star Trey Songz has ditched the Hip-Hop ho’s and softcore porn to make the first classy music video of his career for his new single “Yo Side of the Bed”.

The Yolande Geralds-directed video features Keri Hilson as Trey’s wifey, who gets called to serve in the armed forces, leaving poor Trey at home to look after the baby.

Swapping the gender roles is a nice twist to the military marriage theme, and the whole video is executed beautifully with some great acting from both Trey and Miss Keri.

“Yo Side of the Bed” is currently the seventh single to be lifted from Trey’s Gold-selling third album Ready. You’d think with all those hit singles that Ready would’ve reached Platinum by now, but I think of this as more of a warm up for his fourth record, which has a good shot at being very successful.

With Chris Brown out of the picture, Trey’s label should push him internationally for the next album.

Trey Songz has just dropped the video for my favorite song from his new album Ready, “Say Ahh”. The song features Fabolous and is currently climbing up the charts, having already reached #34 on the Hot 100 and #4 on the R&B chart.

I’m not going to talk about the video in detail because honestly, you’ve seen one Hip-Hop/R&B video you’ve seen ‘em all. Hot girls and guys in the club poppin’ bottles and shakin’ their ass — yawn.

Maybe I should be a music video director. It sure as hell would be easier than spending all my free time glued to this computer scouring the net for updates for you guys. I could just use the exact same video treatment for every artist, so I’d barely have to do any work at all. I could just spend all day kickin’ back eating dorito’s watching The Bad Girls Club and Buffy re-runs.

Anyways nice song! I hope it reaches number one despite it’s snooze-o-rama video. “Say ahh, it’s your birthday, ah ah ah ah…”.

After a successful third album Trey Songz is planning to strike whilst the iron’s still hot by rush releasing the follow-up to Ready, and he’ll be enlisting the usual suspects like Pharrell, Timbaland and B-Cox to lend him a helping hand.

“I’m trying to make sure I have an album out ASAP,” he said. “I ain’t gonna tell you how soon, though. It’s not gonna be two years. I wanna use the same recipe I’ve been using. If anybody is added, it’ll be for real purpose. I spoke to Pharrell. I told him I’m getting in, Timbaland as well — both huge Virginian-grown producers. I definitely would love to work with them. But Troy Taylor I’ve been working with since the beginning of my career. Plus Bryan-Michael Cox I’ve had a couple hits with. I definitely wanna make sure we use the same chemistry.”

Trey is definitely at a point where he needs to keep his increasing momentum going, so a new album is probably a good idea. It’ll also help if he can convince the general population that he’s actually an R&B singer and not a Playgirl model slash sex therapist like most people probably assume.

Sexbomb Trey Songz is about to drop a new live EP Up Close and Ready as a way to cash in on the holiday season, and he’s just released the first single “One Love” which you can check out above.

The EP should be a good way for Trey to prove that he has some talent beyond his six pack abs and hurricane tongue. It’s available on iTunes tomorrow and will include the “One Love” music video as bonus so if you like what you see (and hear) then go pick it up.

Trey is really emerging as the top male in R&B right now (not including Maxwell). His album Ready was just nominated for a Grammy, whilst “I Invented Sex” sits at #2 on the R&B charts and his follow-up single “Say Ahh” is at #12 and climbing.

The 2009 Soul Train awards finally aired tonight, so I selected two of the best performances from the show to post.

The beautiful and talented Toni Braxton showed off her piano playing skills as she performed her new single “Yesterday”, before brining Trey Songz on stage for a duet which ended in a passionate lip lock.

Also getting down was Keri Hilson who showed off her dance skills to a medley of her songs including “Knock You Down”, “Turnin’ Me On” and my personal fave “Slow Dance”.

Keri really is one of the baddest ladies in the biz right now! I’m curious to see how her sophomore album will go after all this success.

Toni Braxton premiered her new music video “Yesterday” earlier today on the Wendy Williams show. The song features R&B singer Trey Songz and has so far reached #49 on the R&B charts.

This video is simple, sexy, clean and classy. I love it and it certainly makes Toni and Trey come across very well. Toni and Janet are definitely two of the sexiest and classiest women in the industry, not only out of the older crowd, but just overall in general.

My favourite thing about this video though is BROOKE HOGAN playing the other woman! She is too much!

Beyonce and hubby Jay-Z were snapped heading back to their hotel last night after a night at the Whisky Mist nightclub in London.

The diva went out clubbing after her gig last night at the 02 Arena, were both Jay and Kanye West joined her on stage for her concert which was being taped for yet another DVD release.

Nelly was joined by Trey Songz and Jermaine Dupri for his big birthday bash last Monday night at the Magic City strip club.

Word is that the trio were throwing out stacks all night, eventually blowing tens of thousands on the strippers at the club. I hope Ashanti doesn’t see these pics!

Sex bomb Trey Songz has kept his clothes on for the first time in his life for a snazzy new shoot with Black Men Magazine.

I don’t understand this. When Trina and Angel Lola Luv do Black Men mag they’re practically buck naked, yet when Trey does it he’s dressed like a Catholic nun. That’s sexist!

The longer Trey keeps his clothes on the faster his album will drop out the charts.

Anyways Trey just dropped his x-rated new video for “I Invented Sex” with Drake, which is at #80 on the Hot 100. He’s also got another video with Fabolous coming out for “Sah Aah” which is climbing the R&B charts at #35.

R&B singer Trey Songz has just dropped his new video “I Invented Sex” via his official website. It’s lucky that he premiered it there because Lord knows that they’re not about to play this on the TV.

At first I thought to myself “Oh this is another one of those recession videos”, but then as the clip progressed I realised that I was actually watching a low budget porno. Trey went down on the girl for Gods sake! Her legs were over his shoulders and my jaw was on the floor!

This video was really scandalous but I’m sure the ladies will like it. I’m actually not mad at him for using sex to sell his records because females do it all the time, so why can’t the guys? Plus it helps that he’s actually talented.

Mariah Carey enlists R&B it boy Trey Songz for the official remix to her song “Inseperable”, which will appear on her upcoming Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel remix album.

This one of the few songs that I actually really like from Mariah’s new album, so I was concerned when I heard that it was being remixed because you all know the old saying “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. Thankfully my fears have been put to rest because this remix is amazing. Trey really adds a lot to the song, sounding right at home with Mariah rather than a last minute tack on.

Besides the awful T-Pain remix of “Candy Bling” I’m starting to think that the remix album is going to be hotter than the original.

Since her recent single “Heard Em’ All” has failed to reach any higher than #81 on the R&B/Hip-Hip singles chart, Amerie hasn’t wasted any time by dropping her third official single “Pretty Brown”, which features R&B singer Trey Songz. Above is the official artwork for the single.

Amerie will now focus on promoting both singles, with “Heard Em’ All” for pop and “Pretty Brown” for urban.

“Pretty Brown” is taken from Amerie’s fourth studio album In Love & War, which drops November 3rd.

I’m glad that she’s released this because the song is a banger, but I’m seriously worried about this album. At this rate it’ll be a miracle if she sells more than Michelle Williams Unexpected.

At least Trey Songz is pretty popular on the urban charts at the moment so this song might have a chance at doing something there, and then crossing over. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and pray that this could end up being her “Turnin’ Me On”.
