American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert has confirmed that the next single from his Gold-certified debut album For Your Entertainment will be the Max Martin produced “If I Had You”.
The song is the follow-up to “Whataya Want From Me” which has so far reached #31 on the Hot 100 and is still rising each week.
Meanwhile after a lot of deliberating the winner of the very first American Idol Kelly Clarkson will release “All I Ever Wanted” as the fourth single from her album of the same name. The song will hit radio in March.
Both songs are great choices and I hope they do well on the charts. You’ve probably already heard “All I Ever Wanted” by now so check out Glambert’s “If I Had You” below instead.

The sun wouldn’t be shining and the world wouldn’t be turning if we went at least one week without Kelly Clarkson dissing her record label, the music industry or some shady producers. This time Kelly let her mouth run wild during a recent concert in Manchester, and thanks to the power of Youtube it’s not splashed all over the internet, even if that wasn’t her intention!
During the show Kelly said “I love soulful music but I don’t always get to record it because I work with a bunch of suits”, before then saying in a sing-song voice“Two records left…” in reference to her record contract.
Go Kelly!
She then continued on and spoke about her love of country, and then admitted that she actually loves her latest album All I Ever Wanted.
Oh, and if it interests anybody I tweeted Kelly the other day and asked her if she would ever do an album of just country music or an album of covers, and she replied saying that she will probably never do an album of just one genre because she’s influenced by too many things to stick to one.
I was kind of disappointed because I really wanted her to do a country record, but the thing that makes her so great is that she loves all genres of music and can really sing anything so I’m not too mad. I don’t see why she can’t do what Jewel does though, doing a different genre for each album. Jewel has done albums of country, folk, pop-rock, dance-pop and even childrens lullabies and Christmas songs!

The search for Kelly Clarkson’s fourth All I Ever Wanted single just got more confusing today, with the singer throwing yet another name into the already overcrowded hat.
First it looked as if “Long Shot” would be released after the song received some airplay and appeared on the Hit Predictor website, then Kelly said on her Twitter page that the next single would be a song that “starts with an ‘I’ and ends with a ‘U’”, meaning that it could be either “If I Can’t Have You” or “I Want You”.
Well now Kelly has announced a new choice, tweeting that the label ‘might’ be going with the albums title track “All I Ever Wanted” as the next single.
How dare they not even consider “Don’t Let Me Stop You”!
Anyways “All I Ever Wanted” is one of my personal favorites from the album but frankly I don’t really care what she releases now I’m just excited to get a fourth single, even if it isn’t going to be one of my first choices like “Long Shot” or “If I Can’t Have You”.
Either way you can get ready to kiss the All I Ever Wanted era goodbye soon, since Kelly is currently on tour and working on her fifth album which is due by the end of the year, with a new single set for release around September.

In what is some truly glorious news for Kelly Clarkson fans, Kelly has confirmed that she’s aiming to release her new single in September.
The single will serve as the lead from Clarksons fifth album which is due for release by the end of the year.
Kelly is currently on tour at the moment promoting her fourth album All I Ever Wanted, which to date has only sold around 1.4 million copied worldwide off the back of three singles.
A fourth single has yet to be confirmed for release, but “Long Shot” could end up seeing the light of day after it showed up on the Hit Predictor website, and was then announced as a new single by Canadian radio station CHUM-FM who then listed it on their website.
It took me all of 2009 to warm up to All I Ever Wanted (which I previously despised with a passion), but now I love it and I think it’d be a crime to not release a fourth single, especially since the album could use the sales boost. “Long Shot” is a good song, but I’m really rooting for “Don’t Let Me Stop You” instead.
[Release Don't Let Me Stop You! It's not too late!]

Good ol’ Kelly Clarkson is back at it again! During a new interview with Kim Dawson to promote her upcoming UK tour and next studio album, Kelly made sure to take a subtle dig at popular producers that leave people “sound[ing] like everyone else”.
Whoever could she mean?
Kelly also made sure to mention her record label as well, who as we all know have been accused of stifling the singers creativity in order to force her to make more commercial music.
“I’m writing and recording new songs,” she said. “I’ve written a ton with a bunch of songwriters I haven’t written with before. It’s turning out differently, like nothing I’ve released before. Some of it is very 80s influenced and some of it is singer/songwriter.”
But one thing she doesn’t want is a big name producer. She admitted: “I don’t like working with people who have worked with everyone.
“Sometimes I get blackmailed into doing so by my label, but I prefer collaboring with people who aren’t on the grid. I don’t want to sound exactly like other people’s records.” {source}
I guess like a typical woman Kelly is never planning to get over the “Already Gone/Halo” debacle, but I don’t blame her. She just takes her artistry more seriously than some other people and I respect that.
Anyways I’m liking what I’m hearing about the new album so far, so hopefully Kelly will be able to avoid any “blackmail” from her record label and just work with lesser known people like she did on My December.

Kelly Clarkson continues her tradition of being musically schizophrenic before the release of each new album by admitting to Billboard that “all over the place” between country, pop and acoustic for her upcoming album.
“We have several songs already penned for the next album. I actually just was e-mailing a couple of writers and producers that I’m working with for the next album, and they’re everywhere, there’s everything from beats to more singer-songwriter country stuff to major pop stuff so it’s all over the place right now. I have no idea what it’s going to sound like.”
I’m sure wherever she decides to land will be brilliant, but personally I have my fingers crossed for a more mature country album, though maybe that’s something she should save for later on in her career. I think Kelly would sounds right at home doing some Miranda Lambert type stuff, especially after she recently covered Miranda’s song “The House That Built Me”.
What direction do you want to see Kelly go for her next album?

It’s no secret that Kelly Clarkson is already working on her fifth studio album, so during a recent VIP pre-show concert on her current tour the singer-songwriter played a ton of new material for the lucky crowd.
Thank God for us that some sneaky snake managed to record all the songs and put them up on YouTube, giving us a look at what could potentially be several demos for her next album.
I wouldn’t treat these songs like the gospel though. Remember when four acoustic demos leaked for All I Ever Wanted, and only one of them “Ready” ended up making the album with the final version receiving a significant pop makeover?
There are way too many new songs for me to put up in this post, ranging from piano based ballads to country style hoe-down tracks, so I’ve only selected four of them to put here. If you want to hear the rest just click here.
My favorite is “Far From Home”, and if her next album sounds anything like it then it’s going to be f-cking amazing. Which is your favourite?

Pop-rock diva Kelly Clarkson has opened up a little more about her upcoming fifth album to an Atlanta radio station earlier this week, describing the project as “different” to her previous albums.
“We’re already working on it but it’s probably not going to hit until, like, the fourth quarter of next year — around Christmas next year,” she told the station. “There’s still some like singer/songwriter stuff [on the album], but there’s … I don’t know. It’s almost like Garbage-meets-pop-meets-Muse. It’s a little different.”
“I don’t know how it’s going to end up. Who knows?” she said. “It always ends up being something completely different.”
This is all well and good, but I wouldn’t exactly hold Kelly to her word. Remember when she said that All I Ever Wanted was also inspired by Garbage? If you ask me the only the only garbage on All I Ever Wanted were those awful Katy Perry leftovers.
I think Kelly just plays around in the studio with a variety of different sounds until Clive Davis storms in, puts a gun to her head and makes her record a stack of Max Martin & Ryan Tedder demos.

Kelly Clarkson was snapped over the weekend helping out at the Tide Loads of Hope charity event in New Orleans. The event was started by Tide detergent to provide free laundry services to people who lost their homes during hurricane Katrina.
Bravo Kelly. Most “charitable” stars just rock up to fancy luncheons and pull out their cheque book, but Kelly is actually getting her hands dirty and putting in some real work.
In other news, one of Kelly’s biggest fansites are reporting that the singer is heading in a “dance-funk” direction for her new album which will have a “different” sound to her previous efforts. KC has always had a lot of soul to her voice so I could totally see her doing some old-school funk.
By the way Kelly’s controversial single “Already Gone” is still climbing the charts, reaching #1 on the adult pop songs chart and Hot AC airplay, and #13 on the Hot 100.

It looks like there may still be some hard feelings between Kelly Clarkson and producer Ryan Tedder, after the two publicly fell out when Kelly accused Tedder of recycling beats with her song “Already Gone” and Beyonce’s “Halo”.
Man, I haven’t talked to her, to be honest, since that went down. She has my email. Her attorney or somebody from her camp told somebody from my camp that she’s willing to work with me again. I was like, oh, thank you. I mean, I’m looking at your song right now and it’s #1 for the fourth week on Hot AC, so I’m sorry that I helped with that. I was absolutely livid when that whole thing came out because she had no idea what she was talking about when she said that. Somebody got up in her ear, and she got a bug in her ear. It was how she said it and how she worded it. If I was going around and selling the same track to the biggest artists in the world, how long would my career last? It’s ludicrous. And she knows me well enough to know I’m not an idiot. I’m not the kinda guy who’s gonna bust my ass for ten years to try and pull a fast one on Beyonce or Kelly.
Ryan then continued, insisting that he actually prefers “Already Gone” over Beyonce’s hit “Halo”.
I’m no longer mad about the situation at all. “Already Gone” has just about done as well in America as “Halo” did. She literally wanted to sabotage the song. I’m happy that it saw the light of day, because I actually liked “Already Gone” more than “Halo.” I connect with it more. It gave me goose bumps. I’ve watched girls I’ve played the song for cry. It’s just an emotional, heartbreaking breakup song. I always liked it more than “Halo.”
The One Republic frontman then hinted that he may never work with Clarkson again.
As far as working with her in the future, I would—but I don’t know, man. It really is tough to say. I like Kelly a lot. I have nothing but amazing stuff to say about her. Her album just got nominated for Pop Album Of The Year, and I like to think I contributed somewhat with that. She’s the easiest person to work with in the studio, and all these other great superlatives. But having said that, it’s like, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. And I just don’t know that I wanna venture—I don’t wanna get some crazy-ass backlash or get my head snapped off for writing a hit song. I do wish her the best, and if we work together in the future, then I will be a happy camper about it and let bygones be bygones. [source]
I understand where he’s coming from but Kelly has a lot integrity and it’s obvious that she didn’t want to pull a Stargate and record the same recycled pop tunes as everybody else, but Ryan’s ego is so big that he can’t accept responsibility for recycling a track. He needs to take a look in the mirror instead of blasting Kelly.
He did however say that “Already Gone” is better than “Halo” which is probably the smartest thing that’s ever come out of his mouth.
At least Kelly is having some fun with the situation though, recently singing the lyrics to “Halo” during a performance of “Already Gone” on her current tour. Check it out below.
