Ke$ha takes it off for Maxim magazine!

Posted in Photoshoots on March 19th, 2010 by The Prophet

Chart topper Ke$ha is showing the world that she doesn’t always have to look like some dirty $**t that you f*%# in the @$$ after a heavy night of drinking and then throw out the door with five bucks for cab fare, hopping in the shower for the first time in her life and taking it all off for this sexy photoshoot with mens mag Maxim.

She scrubs up nicely!

I’d post some excerpts from the accompanying interview but it’s just all the same super original questions about brushing your teeth with Jack Daniels and stalking Stephan, but Ke$ha did reveal one gem by saying that she thinks Justin Bieber is a “tiny little baby” that she wants to “push around onstage in a carriage”.

Ke$ha performs “Blah Blah Blah” on American Idol and confirms third ‘Animal’ single

Posted in Performances on March 17th, 2010 by The Prophet

Ke$ha was one of three musical guests to perform on tonights American Idol results show, blabbing her way through a highly-sanitized version her top ten hit “Blah Blah Blah”.

It was an exciting and raucous performance, but I really could’ve done without the unbearable 3Oh!3 who I think are so… I just can’t… SMH.

In other news, AllAccess has confirmed that the next single from Ke$ha’s chart topping debut Animal will be “Your Love Is My Drug”, and not “Take It Off” which was previously announced as a strong contender. “Your Love Is My Drug” already managed to reach #27 on the Hot 100 during Animal’s first week out, so hopefully it can climb back up the charts in the next few months because it’s so damn catchy, especially the “Do I make your heart beat like an 808 drum” part!

Your love your love your love is my drugggggggg!

Ke$ha performs “Blah Blah Blah” and bangs on about a future in country music

Posted in Performances on March 7th, 2010 by The Prophet

Ke$ha performed her hit single “Blah Blah Blah” in London last month for The 5:19 show, but it just aired this week  so here it is for your viewing pleasure.

The 23-year-old is also still keen to pursue a career in country music, and has spoken about her future musical aspirations in yet another interview.

“Coming from Nashville, I love Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard, and want to make those records too. But right now, it’s my ‘f**k off’, fun period and I’m gonna enjoy it,” she told Q magazine. {source}

A countrified Ke$ha would be like Taylor Swifts skanky long lost twin sister that was given up for adoption at birth and had to survive on the streets selling crack and busking for change in the gutter.

Maybe Ke$ha will totally reinvent her sound and image for her sophomore album. Hey, it worked for P!nk and Christina Aguilera.

Ke$ha announces next single, but it’s not the one she wants.

Posted in News on March 1st, 2010 by The Prophet

Ke$ha’s currently ruling the charts with her first two singles “TiK ToK” and “Blah Blah Blah”, but her record label are already well into planning hit number three. Unfortunately for Ke$ha though it may not be the song she was hoping for.

“If I could pick any song on the record, I’d want it to be ‘Stephen’, but I think we’re going for either ‘Your Love Is My Drug’ or ‘Take It Off’. ‘Stephen’ and Animal’ are my two favourites on the album though. ‘Stephen’ shows the vulnerable side of me but it’s still a funny pop song.” {source}

“Take it Off” and “Your Love Is My Drug” are fan favorites the obvious choices for future singles, especially since the latter has already charted at #27 on the Hot 100 proving it’s hit potential.

It’s a shame for Ke$ha that she doesn’t get to choose her own singles, but it’s quite normal for artists under major record labels. Kelly Clarkson is on her fourth album with sales of over 23 million records worldwide and she’s still not even allowed to choose what singles she releases. Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey also haven’t been able to choose many of their own singles thanks to L.A. Reid at Def Jam, so a newcomer like Ke$ha doesn’t stand a snowballs chance in hell.

What do you think Ke$ha’s next single should be?

LISTEN: Ke$ha croons on pre-electro acoustic ballad

Posted in New Music, Reviews on March 1st, 2010 by The Prophet

Since bursting onto the charts late last year (and ruling them ever since) singer-songwriter Ke$ha has somehow managed to replace Britney Spears and Ashlee Simpson as the poster girl for everything that’s wrong with today’s music, attracting a slew of criticism that at times has almost rivaled her immense popularity.

Before moving to L.A. and teaming up with hitmaker Dr Luke though, the electro-pop princess was living in Nashville and had dreams of becoming a country singer, clearly inspired and influenced  by her mother who’s an accomplished country songwriter who’s written for Dolly Parton before.

Most of Ke$ha’s pre-electro music remains locked away, but early last month a acoustic-ballad titled “Goodbye” hit the net, giving listeners a glimpse of a different Ke$ha that hasn’t fully seen the light of day yet. The self-penned song sounds similar to something Michelle Branch other short-lived band The Wreckers would’ve recorded, showing off a singing and songwriting talent that many people assumed Ke$ha didn’t have.

In many interviews the 22-year-old stated that she made her debut album Animal wild and fun because it reflected her past few years in L.A. and was something she wanted to do while she was still young, but she’s made no secret of her plans to change her style in the future, even going as far as to say that she’d love to record a full country album.

Ke$ha strikes me as the same type of artist as Kelly Clarkson, as they both seem to genuinely love all genre’s of music from indie to mainstream and Kelly has experimented with a ton of different genres over the years which is something I see Ke$ha doing in the future.

What do you think Ke$ha should do in the future? I want a country album!

Black Eyed Peas dethrone Ke$ha on the Hot 100

Posted in News on February 25th, 2010 by The Prophet

After spending a whopping nine weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK” has finally slid down one spot to #2 to make way for the Black Eyed Peas “Imma Be” which reaches #1 on this weeks chart.

This is the BEP third chart topping single from their latest album The E.N.D. after “Boom Boom Pow” spend twelve weeks on top last year, and was then followed by “I Gotta Feeling” which had a fourteen week run at #1.

Some other interesting moves on this weeks chart include Trey Songz who scores his first top ten hit with “Sah Ahh” featuring Fabolous reaching #10.

Meanwhile Rihanna’s “Rude Boy” had a major sales and airplay spike and jumped from 64-23, whilst Young Money’s “Bedrock” rose to #3, Lady Antebellum returned to the top five with “Need You Now” and Mariah Carey & Nicki Minaj debuted at #100 with “Up Out My Face”.

Ke$ha’s runs wild in the “Blah Blah Blah” video [HQ Added]

Posted in Music Videos on February 23rd, 2010 by The Prophet

[HQ Added]

It wasn’t supposed to be out yet, but some sneaky somehow managed to get their paws on Ke$ha’s new music video “Blah Blah Blah”, leaking it online for the world to see.

This bootleg version of the video was out before, but now you can check out the final version in all it’s HQ glory.

“Blah Blah Blah” basically just shows Ke$ha being her crazy obnoxious self, just a little sexier. Good stuff!

The song reached a peak of #7 on the Billboard charts during Ke$ha’s album release week and then fell down the charts a little, before rebounding this week to #11. With the video now out and increased airplay and digital sales there’s no telling how far “Blah Blah Blah” will go in the future.

A 13-year-old Ke$ha performs in High School talent show

Posted in Performances on February 21st, 2010 by The Prophet

In this new clip that’s surfaced online Ke$ha shows the world that she wasn’t always the ratbag that we’ve come to know and love, she was actually once a very normal and lame teenager like we all were at one stage but chose to conveniently block from our memories for all eternity.

In this video a then 13-year-old Ke$ha can be seen performing Radioheads “Karma Police” with her friends at their high school talent show. Flash forward ten years and now she’s got a #1 album and a record-breaking single that’s just spent nine weeks at #1! {source}

Ke$ha performs new single “Blah Blah Blah” on GMTV

Posted in Performances on February 20th, 2010 by The Prophet

Chart sensation Ke$ha was on GMTV yesterday to perform her second single “Blah Blah Blah” from her debut album Animal.

Ke$ha’s performances really don’t suit breakfast shows! She looks like she should be rolling around on a sticky stage in a dirty bar rather than trying to rock out on morning television.

As for the song itself, “Blah Blah Blah” just made a major rebound on the Hot 100 this week jumping from up eleven spots to #11 whilst her first single “TiK ToK” spent it’s ninth week at #1. It looks like she’ll soon have two singles in the top 10 again, just like she had right after her album was released.

Uffie decides to play nice with Ke$ha… Kind of.

Posted in Beef, News on February 12th, 2010 by The Prophet

The internet’s been abuzz for a while now with claims that chart topper Ke$ha ripped off indie-artist Uffie for her hit single “TiK ToK”, and now almost a month after making some thinly veiled threats towards a certain so-called “knock-off” Uffie is changing her tune and admitting that she doesn’t want to talk bad about the singing dollar sign.

“Well, I didn’t know about it until people kept saying, ‘Have you heard this girl who stole your song?’ There are definitely some similarities, but everybody is influenced by something and everyone samples stuff. I’m not saying I’m down with it, but I’m not going to talk s**t about her. What she does isn’t my kind of music, so I’m not going to pay attention to it.”

“Yeah, there’s some guy who played them at the same time and apparently only the words are different. There’s a definite similarity there.” {source}

I guess Uffie has forgotten that she said she planned to “wipe the floor” with Ke$ha?

Oh well. I like them both!

Anyways Uffie’s long-awaited debut album Sex Dreams and Denim Jeans will drop this Spring, featuring production from French DJ Feadz and Mirwais who’s best known for his work with Madonna.

As for Ke$ha she just racked up her eighth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “TiK ToK”, which gives her the longest running #1 debut single by a female artist since 1977.
