Janet Jackson hasn’t been in the limelight a whole lot lately, but get ready to see a whole lot more of her soon as the promotion for her new film Why Did I Get Married Too kicks in.

First off Janhova will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on March 18 to chat about the new film and possibly some of her other projects, and after that she’s scheduled to appear on Oprah with Tyler Perry on April 2nd.

For her appearance on Oprah it’s been rumored that she’ll be performing or at least premiering the lead single from the Why Did I Get Married Too soundtrack, “Nothing”. The song is a Jermaine Dupri produced ballad which was written by Jan herself and will mark the first time in a while that she’s actually gone ahead and released a proper ballad.

The last time that the Proprietor of Pop released a ballad as a single from a soundtrack was way back in 1993 with “Again” from Poetic Justice, which landed at #1 on the Billboard charts and earned Jan an Oscar nomination.

In addition to recording her next album with Darkchild, Janhova is continuing to venture out into other avenues by executive producing a hard-hitting new documentary about transsexuals.

Whilst everyone’s been busy practically kissing the toilet seat that Nicki Minaj sits on, they’ve conveniently forgotten all about the scandalous trainwreck Khia who’s been in hiding for a while working on a new album and a possible VH1 reality show titled Anger Management.

The ‘My Neck My Back’ rapper is now back with a brand new single “Been a Bad Girl”, which according to her is inspired by Janet Jackson. You know, Janet Jackson, the same woman that Khia publicly put on blast after she complained that Jan didn’t give her enough screen time in the music video for their collaboration “So Excited”. Supposedly that’s all water under the bridge though after Khia squashed their beef when Janet’s brother Michael passed away (how convenient).

“I love Janet! My ‘Bad Girls’ single is kind of inspired by Janet. I wrote it for her,” said Khia to VIBE. “It’s got her written all over it and I know she’s gonna love it.”

I can see right through Khia like she’s bathin’ in windex, but it wouldn’t be the Khia that I know and love if she wasn’t out there trying to use somebody’s name for publicity, and I hope to see many more of her trademark outrageous publicity stunts in the months to come!

As for the song itself, it’s another crude Khia anthem with cheap self-made production and sleazy lyrics about her infamous pussy, which of course means that I absolutely love it and will probably be listening to it non-stop for the next six months.

Khia’s new double album Khia Shamone/Motor Mouf drops this Spring and will feature two discs with a whopping sixteen tracks a piece. Can’t wait!

Remember when I posted that Darkchild produced demo for Janet Jackson and Pitbull? Well now the final version has leaked under the title of “Heartbeat Love”, also featuring Rock City and Machel Montano.

The song bypasses the latest trends in music and leaves the electro beats behind in favor of some hard-edged urban-influenced party rhythms which sound like they’ve been tailor made for the dance floor, most likely in an effort to re-establish Janet as the Queen of choreography.

“Heartbeat Love” is the perfect first taste of Janet’s upcoming eleventh album which Darkchild will have a huge hand in producing.

Late last year Darkchild announced that he had produced a song for Janet Jackson that featured Pitbull that was influenced by African, Latin and worldwide Rhythms.

Well now a Darkchild produced track matching that exact description and featuring vocals from a demo singer mimicking Janets trademark vocal delivery has surfaced online. Coincidence? Probably not.

The tribal heavy club banger is completely a new sound for Janet, and it works! It’s sure to fill up dance floors in no time, and also shows that Janet marches to the beat of her own drum (no pun intended) by not hopping on the electro-dance bandwagon that everyone else is doing right now.

I mean why would she? Miss Jackson has been there and done already with her Discipline album in 2008!

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll hear the mastered, finished version of this with the messy vocals fixed, and I might not be waiting too long since last week Darkchild announced that he’d be leaking a new Janet song (with her permission) very soon.

The Queen of Pop (and the universe) Janet Jackson has covered the January/February issue of upscale New York magazine Gotham.

Besides the stunning photo-shoot (which are actually old pics LOL), Ms Jackson if ya nasty also spoke briefly about her new album which is due out later this year.

“It’s going to be a little different. The writing [on the album] is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep moving on with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.”

Helping Janet put her “life experiences” into music will be producer Darkchild, who previously said that Janet’s album will contain a lot of world music influences.

Janet Jackson left the bat suits and bathtubs at home tonight for some old fashioned dancing (and lipsyncing) when she performed her classic #1 smash “All For You” on the X Factor, as well as her not-so-number-one smash “Make Me”.

Over forty and still out-dancing ya faves! You mad?

The performance was a little too bare for me though. The choreography was there but there weren’t any theatrics whatsoever to help to turn it into an explosive pop show. I know that Janet doesn’t need that stuff to shine on stage but it certainly would’ve been the cherry on top.

GaGa’s performance was too much, and Jan’s wasn’t quite enough. If you combined them together we’d have had a show stopper on our hands!

According to new reports from UK website The Times Online Janet Jackson will embark on a European tour in 2010.

Before that however Ms Jackson will perform on next Sunday’s episode of The X Factor (6/12) where she will be joined by Lady GaGa.

The news should please her fans who were disappointed when the superstar had to cancel the the European leg of her Fuck Witchu tour due to conflicts with her label Def Jam.

She better come to Australia to!

According to new reports Janet Jackson has returned to the label that made her famous signing a brand new deal with A&M Records, which is under Jimmy Iovines Interscope umbrella.

A source reveals that the reason for A&M’s giant push behind Janet’s new greatest hits compilation Number Ones is to remind everybody of how successful and iconic the star is.

“A&M wants this CD to remind people how great Janet is,” an insider “They’re hoping it’ll whet the public’s appetite for Janet and pave the way for her new music.”

“Jimmy has given the mandate to make this Janet record a success,” says the snitch. “He believes that he has the right team in place to finally take Janet back to the top of the music charts. It’s a top priority for the label.”
