The divine Ms Janet Jackson may be taking time out of her pop career to pursue acting, but in a new interview with the UK’s Metro, Janhova has expressed interest in working with Lady GaGa.

“What I love about Gaga is her story, where she came from” revealed the 44-year-old, who is now saying ‘I told you so’ by claiming she was the first to tip her for big things.

“Before she made it, before anyone knew who she was, I knew who she was and, to see her finally make it, I was so happy,” she insisted, before adding: “If we were to work together that would be cool.”

This isn’t the first time that the Holy Queen Janhova has co-signed GaGa: Back in March, Jan praised GaGa’s work ethic and personality, but urged her to slow down a little. GaGa also happens to be a self-confessed Janatic, previously citing Janet as one of her influences and referring to her as a “legend”.

My dream has always been a Britney and Janet collaboration (damn you, Madonna!), but I guess I could live with GaGa if it ever were to happen. I’m sure she was just thinking out loud, but I can dream.

Janet Jackson hit the stage on Friday night for her headlining gig at the Essence Music Festival, performing a 90-minute set of all her classics for the sold-out crowd.

The 44-year-old broke out many of her trademark dance moves for the concert, and even revisited her controversial S&M ‘Discipline‘ routine with a lucky member of the audience.

Although she’s focusing on her acting career for now, it’s been hinted that Janet will continue to release new singles here and there until she’s ready to commit herself to a full album. In the meantime, keep an eye out for her self-help book/autobiography True You which drops later this year.

The legend (stan much?) delivered a beautiful performance of her new soundtrack single “Nothing”, before heating things up with a rocking rendition of her 1986 classic “Nasty”.

Janet Jackson’s ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri may have sounded pretty grim when he announced to Vibe that the superstar was putting music on the back-burner for the time being to focus on acting and perhaps the occasional single release, but when asked herself at the London premiere of her latest film Why Did I Get Married Too, Janet seemed quite enthusiastic about keeping her music career going.

“Yeah of course,” exclaimed Janet when asked if she would tour the UK again. “Music’s still a very big part of my life and I haven’t stopped making music.”

Then when asked if her Janet. and Rock Witchu tours had been professionally filmed and if they’d be released on DVD at some stage, Janet replied: “Yes they definitely are, and it’s just a matter of getting all the footage together and choosing the right pieces and clips and tryna make it something special.”

The star also has some new performances coming up, including a sold out headlining gig at the Essence Music Festival this Summer with Mary J. Blige and Alica Keys, as well as the just announced American Music Festival with Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, Usher and Carrie Underwood.

Ms Jackson better put out a new album and those old tour DVD’s soon because my soul can’t survive without nourishment from the Queen!

The amazing, iconic, trendsetting, legendary, record breaking, sex symbol Janet Jackson continued owning women half her her age today at the London premiere of her new film “Why Did I Get Married Too”.

The 44-year-old was noticeably rocking a shorter haircut, reminiscent of  the styles she used to rock back in the 90′s.

Recently it was revealed that Janet is currently not working on a new album and has no plans to release anything at this current time, but that she will continue dropping singles here and there and until she’s ready to return to music full time.

In the meantime she’ll be focusing on her acting career, with a role lined-up in another damn Tyler Perry movie, co-starring Mariah Carey and Whoopi Goldberg.

Janet Jackson continued her promotional assault for Why Did I Get Married Too yesterday with a revealing new interview on Oprah, but it wasn’t much of a surprise when the intimate chat actually ended up being all about Michael Jackson’s passing, which at times seemed to make Jan a little uncomfortable, causing her to turn away when clips of her famous brother were played.

During the interview Janet said that she blames Dr Conrad Murray for his death, revealed Michael’s last words to her, discussed his children and what religion they are being raised as, talked holding an intervention and a few other bits and pieces.

Tyler Perry then stepped out, and got a fresh grilling from Oprah on all things Michael related, before finally getting a chance to talk about the movie. Suicide hotlines were ringing off the hook last week from desperate callers distraught over news that Janet Jackson had said that she wasn’t working on a new studio album, but now Ms Jackson has stepped forward to clarify the ghastly rumors, giving us some much needed light at the end of the tunnel in the process.

“I read somewhere that I’m not planning to make more albums; that’s not true. I love singing and performing too much to give them up. Right now I’ve got a couple more films I may do, and the festival. Then I’ll figure out whether to go with a major or do something more independent.”

The “festival” that Janet is talking about is the Essence Music Festival, which she will be headlining alongside Mary J. Blige and Alicia Keys.

Jan has also reiterated that the friendship between herself and her ex Jermaine Dupri is still all smiles and sunshine, which was pretty much a given anyway since he co-wrote and produced her latest single “Nothing”.

“We’re still very close,” Jackson says. “I love Jermaine; he’s just a kind soul, and I’m thankful we’re friends.” {source}

In a new interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Janet Jackson has shocked the pop world (or maybe I’m just being dramatic) by announcing that she isn’t currently working on a new album and is still trying to decide what to do with herself.

“There was a time where I was actually in the studio and I was recording, but I’m not working on an album,” she says. “There have been a lot of record labels that have asked me to sit down and talk with them, but I don’t know if I want to do something completely independent, or go with a major.” Discipline was Jackson’s first disc on Def Jam after she left her longtime label Virgin.

The news comes as a shock since producer Darkchild, and Janet herself, have both previously stated she is working on a new studio album. Did Jan suddenly get cold feet?

Not to worry though, because Janet’s acting career seems to be back in full swing. Not only does she have the new Tyler Perry film Why Did I Get Married Too coming out, but she’s also been cast in next film For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf which she will star alongside Mariah Carey and Whoopi Goldberg.

She’s also got a new soundtrack single out titled “Nothing”, which is on iTunes right now.

Janet Jackson’s new single “Nothing” premiered on radio station v103 earlier today, and the radio rip of the song has now found it’s way online.

The Jermaine Dupri produced ballad is the lead single from Janet’s new movie Why Did I Get Married Too, and was penned by Janet herself, marking a return to songwriting for the singer who didn’t pick up a pen at all on her last album Discipline.

Janet’s never been the best vocalist, so instead of autotuning herself on “Nothing” she’s turned back the clock and gone back to the gentle R&B of her 1993 album Janet.

It’s a beautiful  and understated song that finally heralds the return of the “classic” Janet that’s been promised to us for so long now but has failed to properly materialize until now.

Janet Jackson was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno earlier to promote her new film ‘Why Did I Get Married Too’, and her upcoming self-help book slash autobiography ‘True You’.

Judging by the interview the now 43-year-old is a bit like Mariah Carey and still thinks she’s eternally twelve, giggling and blushing like a shy school girl as Jay prodded her for information and teased her with a fake knuckle cracking trick.

If you’re not too keen on watching Janet act in another one of Tyler Perry’s melodramatic dramedy’s then you’ll be pleased to know that her new Jermaine Dupri produced ballad “Nothing” is set to hit iTunes on the 30th of this month. The song is the lead single from the movies soundtrack, so I’m hoping that it’s as good as Janet’s other major soundtrack singles “Again” and “Doesn’t Really Matter”, which both topped the Billboard Hot 100 when they were released.
