It took a hell of a long time but last week Robin Thicke’s single “Sex Therapy” finally hit #1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop singles chart. You can’t get any better than that, so now the soul crooner has gotten the green light to go ahead and release the dancier, but just as saucy, foll0w-up single “Rollacoasta”.

The Jeff Bhasker produced number features singer-rapper Estelle, and the chic and sleek video was directed by Gil Green who recently shot Trina’s “Million Dollar Girl” clip.

I hope that this song does just as well as “Sex Therapy” did because Thicke’s album has a lot of potential hits on it and I’d love to see him go about four or five singles deep on it.

Filmed back in late February, BET’s annual Rip The Runway special finally aired on TV last night, featuring performances from all the hottest acts in urban music who currently have a new single out to flog.

Current it girl Nicki Minaj and Ludacris were there to perform their hit “My Chick Bad”, as well as Janelle Monae performing “Tightrope”, Estelle and Kardinal Offishall with “Freak”, Trina and a video version of Keri Hilson for “Million Dollar Girl”, and last but not least B.o.B. and the elusive Bruno Mars who performing their smash “Nothin’ On You”.

Oh and Roscoe Dash and Soulja Boy were there to, but I followed my gut instinct and decided not to post their performance. Trust me, you’ll thank me when you’re older.

Overall I’d say that the best performance of the night belonged to my faves Janelle Monae or B.o.B. (go figure), whilst the worst was probably Nicki Minaj who’s going to have to make a few alternations to her ‘wacky’ gimmick because stepping out on stage in Britney’s old crazy wig and yelling and thrashing all over the place does not equal a good performance.

Yesterday British singer-rapper Estelle premiered the freaky music video for her new single “Freak”.

If you ever mixed the clips for Missy Elliot’s “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)” with Janet Jackson’s “Feedback” then this is what you’d get. It’s a great video but it’s pretty hard to get to know Estelle since she completely changes her sound and image for every single album she’s done.

Oh well. The David Guetta produced “Freak” is the lead single from Estelle’s upcoming third album All of Me, which will also feature production from The Neptunes.

After breaking cracking the notoriously difficult US market with her 2008 hit “American Boy”, singer-rapper Estelle is back to do it all over again with her new single “Freak” featuring Kardinal Offishall.

The David Guetta produced song was obviously created with the current dance trend in mind, with Estelle talk-rapping (think Ke$ha’s “TiK ToK”) over a club-friendly beat whilst Kardinal Offishall and a Soul II Soul sample help give the song a little more of an urban edge.

It’s not really my cup of tea but I think if anything is going to be a hit for her it’s probably going to be this.

Estelle’s third album All of Me will be released later this year.

DJ David Guetta is hoping to repeat the success of “When Love Takes Over” and “Sexy Bitch” with his new single “One Love”, which is the third release from his latest album of the same name. The song features rapper/singer Estelle and has so far reached #81 on the Australian charts.

You know how people say that all Hip-Hop video’s look the same with their fancy cars and booty shakin’? Well to me all dance music video’s look the same. They always have people suddenly busting a move in the supermarket or the office or the train station. Basically just normal people bursting into fits of dance everywhere.

Now is it just me or does everyone else think that this song completely ripped off “World Hold On” by Bob Sinclair?

Mary J. Blige hosted a charity cocktail party with Gucci last night for the Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now. The event was held at the Gucci 5th Avenue flagship store in New York City, with Alicia Keys, Ryan Leslie, and Estelle or turning up to support the cause.

Also out & about were Hilary Duff and Ciara who attended the DSQUARED2 Headquarters party in NYC on September 15th.

Pretty much everyone in these pics looks good, but Hilary Duff is definitely the best. She looks like a vision of stunning!
