D. Woods performs “Legalize Me” on Mo’Nique

Former Danity Kane member D. Woods put the wheels in motion on solo singing career this week when she stopped by the Mo’Nique show for a chat and to perform her buzz single “Legalize Me” from her compilation album The Gray Area Experience.

D certainly isn’t Jennifer Hudson when it comes to vocals but she’s a great performer which she proved here with some tight choreography and a lot of confidence and energy.

In addition to The Gray Area Experience the 25-year-old also has her official debut album My Favorite Color tentatively due for an independent release towards the end of April.

D. Woods goes independant for debut album “My Favourite Color”

Posted in News on November 27th, 2009 by The Prophet

Former Danity Kane star D. Woods is now making moves as an independent artist, announcing that her debut solo album My Favourite Color will drop on April 27, 2010, through her own independent label Woodgrane Music, with Universal Music subsidiary Bonzi Records / Fontana handling the distribution.

Before My Favourite Color hits the shelves D will release another album The Gray Area Experience, which will feature new and exclusive material released individually through iTunes. The lead single from The Gray Area Experience is “Legalize Me” which will be available December 8.

I’ll definitely be buying both albums. D. Woods is grinding really hard for her success, releasing mixtapes and video’s for her fans and building hype the old-fashioned way before she drops her solo album as independent artist.

A lot of other artists should really take note of what D is doing instead of rotting away in bad record deals waiting for their label to do everything for them.

D. Woods drops her “Legalize Me” music video [Warning: May contain drug references and Z-listers]

Posted in Music Videos on November 24th, 2009 by The Prophet

Danity Kane bad girl D. Woods takes us on the music video version of an acid trip (a very good one) in “Legalize Me”, the first official promo single from her upcoming solo album The Gray Area.

You wouldn’t expect it from D. Woods but she’s actually made something that’s very creative and interesting, not to mention that the song is banging and she’s done it all as an independent artist. I’m just kidding about her being a Z-lister. Well not really, but I mean it in the most loving way possible!

I’m pretty excited for her solo album. D. Woods is the only hope left from Danity Kane since Dawn Richards was swallowed by Diddy and Aubrey O Day’s promising solo career has resulted in nothing but a series of simultaneous hot messes.

ALBUM COVER! D. Woods “The Gray Area”

Posted in Photoshoots on October 21st, 2009 by The Prophet

Former Danity Kane star D.Woods just posted the official album cover for her solo debut The Gray Area on her Twitter, with an accompanying release date of Dec 8

I have to say that I’m pretty excited about her album. I think her songs are amazing, especially “Legalize Me” and “On My Side”, and she’s easily shitting on Aubrey O’Day’s so called ‘music’ career. Nobody really thought that D would do anything, but she’s worked really hard putting out mixtapes and scoring some acting roles. She’s really putting in work to make things happen for herself so I’d love to see her succeed.

SNAPPED! D. Woods on the set of her new film!

Posted in Candids on September 22nd, 2009 by The Prophet

Former Danity Kane star D. Woods was snapped recently on the set of her new film “We Are Family”. The movie stars Z-list’s finest, including reality TV bitch Omarosa and American Idol season 2 contestant Frenchie Davis. It centres around 6 strangers who are invited to a home under false pretences, only to later discover that they’re all brothers & sisters. Sounds like a real Oscar winner.

The movie looks like a stinker but it’s good to see D. Woods working and having a life after Danity Kane. I was hoping she’d keep working more on music though because I loved her songs “Legalize Me” and “On My Side”. Hopefully we get some music news soon. Anyways thanks to Necole Bitchie for these pics.
