Some footage from Cassie’s recent French club-tour has finally made it’s way online, showing the singer-model-actress performing her hits “Me & U” and “Long way 2 Go” at the Palais Club in Cannes.

It’s very… Uhhh… Well, the important thing is that she tried. OK, technically she didn’t actually try, but she did walk around the stage lazily for a few minutes and miss a few lip-syncing cues. Think of it as Britney’s 2007 VMA performance, but worse.

I still heart you Cassie!

Icy R&B princess Cassie may just be ready to return to her music career, announcing in a new interview with Bust Magazine that she plans to release her new single in the Fall. She also says that she can play the piano (who knew?).

I started playing the piano at age 11 or 12. I wanted to be able to accompany myself while I sang. The first song I sang and played was Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly.”

I am gearing up to have a new single released this fall.

A “fall” release would mean that the single is due fourth quarter, which would coincide with her tentative “early 2011″ album release date for Electro Love. She’s also been out performing in France recently; another sign that the wheels are in motion in regards to her pop career.

Fingers crossed. I don’t want to get my hopes up though, so to avoid being let down I’m just going to invest all my anticipation into Heidi Montag’s sophomore album instead.

The 23-year-old has already performed two clubs shows, where she apparently lip-synced two songs and then left. It’s not exactly the most thrilling news, but at least she’s actually doing something music related for once.

Besides living it up on a paid vacation in France, Cassie’s been modelling more, and her ‘Cassie Ventura Collection’ of T-Shirts for Diamond Supply Co are now available.

Meanwhile nothing has changed in regards to her ‘Electro Love‘ album, which is still due for release next year.

Looking like JLo’s hot Asian twin, singer-model Cassie swanned it up on the red carpet yesterday at an ELLE event to celebrate their July ‘Women in Music’ issue in New York City.

There’s no recent music news on The Prophet Blog’s fave flop, but the last word from the camp Cassie was that she’ll drop her Electro Love album later this year, or early 2011, through her new deal with Interscope.

Femcee Nicki Minaj and The Prophet Blog’s #1 fave flop, Cassie, have been snapped together on the set of a new music video. The picture surfaced after Nicki sent out a Twitpic of the pair together, accompanied by the text: “Wit my wife on video set”.

The video is most likely for Nicki’s icky new single “Your Love”, but wouldn’t it be hot if it was actually for that demo, “Fuck U Silly”, that leaked earlier this year?

Update: The video is for neither. It’s actually for the remix to DJ Khaled’s new single “All I Do Is Win”. So disappointing!

Diddy’s Bad Boy family were on MTV’s Sucker Free this week for a special episode to discuss their career aspiration, their futures and their latest releases.

Discussing their plans over dinner, the group included Dirty Money, Red Cafe, Rick Ross, Queen Janelle Monae, Aasim, of course Diddy and The Prophet Blog’s favorite flop Cassie.

Staying true to her character, Cassie didn’t say much except that “the music will speak for itself”, but loud mouth Diddy chimed in and did the chattering for her, giving Cassie some major props and a vague release date.

“She has great instincts,” said Diddy about his side piece Cassie. “There’s a lot of things that people just don’t know… Sometimes when you have a certain look to you, especially when you’re beautiful, that’s all people can see, they can’t really see past that. I think that’s one of the things that’s gonna rock people to sleep this year on her, she has that special thing. Album’s Electro Love and it’ll be coming out probably end of the year, top of the year [2011], but we’re gonna make sure we set it up right, we really wanna do some unique, strategic things with her.”

See, there’s a select few of us out there who ‘get’ the whole Cassie thing!

She’s now signed to Interscope Records, so I hope that with the new album era we get to see Cassie dancing, as well as focusing heavily on style and visuals in the same way that Rihanna has done for her Rated R album.

After going into hibernation for an extended period of time, the Prophet Blogs favorite flop Cassie has started popping up all over the place again, this time being spotted at a charity event for the Candies Foundation to fight teen pregnancy.

The prettiest girl in pop has generally kept a pretty low profile all year, but is set to return in the next few months with a brand new single from her recently re-recorded and also highly-delayed sophomore album Electro Love.

The album will be released through Bad Boy and Interscope Records, and not Ryan Leslie’s Next Selection which she is sadly no longer a part of.

Not long after giving her fans an update on the progress of her new album, singer-socialite Cassie was snapped today attending the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute gala in York City.

The show stopping stunner revealed today that she’s still hard at work on her Electro Love album with Dallas Austin and a number of other producers, but will have a brand new single within the next few months as well as a series of new performances across Europe this Summer.

Imagine her looking this fierce in a music video for “Hide” or “Skydiver”. I can dream.

Things have been pretty quiet on the Cassie front lately, but finally the star has broken her silence and is giving her fans a long overdue update on where she’s headed with her career and what exactly she has planned for her highly-delayed sophomore album Electro Love.

In a new interview with her fansite CassieVerse, the ‘Me & U’ singer has pointed the finger at the constant leaks from her project as being one of the main reasons that it still hasn’t been released, but says that she has a brand new single due out in the next few months.

Right now, I do not have a concrete date to give you all for the full album, but I will definitely have singles released in the coming months. To be honest, as so much content was released (leaked), I took it upon myself to record new things so that I wouldn’t be releasing an entire album of leaked records.

I definitely have a single [picked] but I won’t cut myself off until the label says that I need to be done.

The singer, who won’t include her previously released singles on the upcoming LP, said that Electro Love won’t fall into a particular genre or music.

I love creating what some consider pop records, I love creating what some consider r&b records and I will continue to do both. I don’t see myself falling into one category or another. These days everything has crossed over so much that you can’t really put yourself into a specific category. Pop, r&b, country, rock, hip hop… A single radio station might play all of that within an hour.

Cassie then stated that she is no longer signed to Ryan Leslie’s Next Selection label.

She also said that she has several performances lined up across Europe this Summer, she’s been working a lot with Dallas Austin as well as a lot of up & coming producers and that she’ll be back on Twitter and doing Vlogs once more music is ready to be released.

I’ve also heard that Bad Boy are still very focused on Electro Love, and after Diddy’s Last Train to Paris Cassie’s album is their next biggest priority. It’s a good idea for Cassie to keep on the down low until she has some new music ready, but at least now we know that there is a new single coming and a whole album of fresh material.

There’s been a serious lack of Cassie on the site lately, and even though I don’t do candid posts that much anymore I thought I’d make an exception since Cassie news is so rare these days. Plus, she is one of The Prophet Blog’s favorite flops underdogs.

Anyways the newly blonde singer was spotted this week attending a private dinner function for activist Suzanne Engo. She even got on stage and used a mic, but unfortunately it was just to give a speech and not to perform anything from her upcoming Electro Love album.

A new demo performed by singer-songwriter Claude Kelly leaked online yesterday titled “Electro Love”, which is rumored to be a demo for Cassie’s long-awaited sophomore album, also titled Electro Love.

The track is another urban-dance 80′s throwback with a similar sound to some of Cassie’s many leaks, and Claude’s vocal delivery is high pitched and whispery which is well known as Cassie’s trademark singing style. I think the song is tailor made for Cassie and I’d love to see her record it and release it at some stage.

Besides the steady flow of leaked songs we haven’t had much info on Cassie’s recording career for a while now, but that should change soon since she recently just did an interview with her leading fansite CassieVerse, who I’m sure tried to dig up some new album and single news.

For a minute it looked like Cassie’s Electro Love had been thrown on the scrap heap, but during her recent trip to Paris fashion week with boyfriend Diddy, Cassie indicated that the album was still going ahead by telling a reporter that it will be “more pop than R&B”.

The singer-model, 23, also performed a show at celeb hotspot The VIP Room to celebrate the opening of fashion week.

If you’ve been following the leaks from Cassie’s sophomore album you’d have noticed that there’s been a lot more pop than the chilled R&B from her Ryan Leslie produced debut. The latest delay in the project is probably due to her move from Bad Boy to new label Interscope.

I see that Cassie still hasn’t learned that she sounded the best when she was doing R&B with R-Les.
