Super Junior begin recording fifth album

Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry, Neka Neka Neka…

Asia’s biggest boy band that isn’t BIGBANG or TVXQ, Super Junior, confirmed today that they have officially begun recording their fifth studio album.

Member Leeteuk confirmed that recording had already begun on the Super Junior radio show, while Ryeowook Tweeted that the group have been practicing hard in preparation for its release.

The new album will follow-up the boys mega-smash BONAMANA, which was the highest-selling album in South Korea for 2010. The album also spawned a mega-hit in the title track, which has been sitting at #1 on the Taiwanese charts for the past YEAR and counting.

Speaking of the song’s success in Taiwan, member Heechul Tweeted: “BONAMANA has been at #1 in Taiwan for over a year. At the end, only our 5th album’s new song will be able to beat “BONAMANA.” Even though we are going crazy over the preparation of the 5th album, you guys will go crazy because of the album’s release, because we are a killer group.”

I’m sure they’ll be able to top “BONAMAMA” since it’s just a less-amazing version of “Sorry Sorry”, which has to be up there with SNSD’s “Gee” and Wonder Girls’ “Nobody” as one of the greatest K-Pop songs of all time.

The album should be amazing, though. Super Junior always have incredible songs, and besides a few dud ballads, the BONAMANA album was basically flawless. And if they come back this year, they won’t even have any other boy band competition — TVXQ have already wrapped up their comeback promotions, SM won’t put SHINee and SuJu directly against each other, BIGBANG will obviously be delayed indefinitely due to Daesung’s recent accident, and JYP’s 2PM aren’t successful enough yet to pose a threat.

If you’re new to SuJu, check out three of their flawless hits below.

They’ve been working on it since months ago, Proph. This news is just a small teaser to hype up their fans. They always do that from Sorry Sorry and Bonamana.
I think they album’s already done. They’ll be back June or at the very least July. Mark my words.

I thought you didn’t like them. I told you a few times back then to give em a chance but you didn’t response.

And if you think Bonamana is flawless, I don’t know what will you say to Sorry Sorry. SS is lightyears more flawless and amazing than Bonamana.

Actually I don’t like Bonamana as an album.

Since what you did to my suggestion bout Suju, I guess you didn’t watch some videos I gave you bout Agnes Monica (the best singer from my country) right?

August 5! IO cannot wait for this album. BONAMANA was great but Sorry, Sorry was a masterpiece and completely flawless. It almost feels like “Sorry, Sorry” is their “Gee”, “BONAMANA” is their “Genie”, and hopefully, this new single will be to the caliber of “Oh!” or above. I love SuJu so this comeback is beyond anticipated for me.

Is it official august 5? Well, I guess I’m wrong this one haha but I’m so glad they’re back.

I agree SS is their Gee but Bonamana isn’t their Genie. It’s more like their Kissing You. Hate to say but Bonamana is a step backward from SS while Genie is as step forward (though less succesful) from Gee.

You mean Sorry Sorry the song or album? Coz I said in the post that BONAMANA (song) is just a less amazing version of Sorry Sorry (song) haha. Sorry Sorry is my fave SuJu song!

And I don’t remember you recommending SuJu, coz I’ve loved them for AGES now! I have over 200 scrobbles for them on my Last.fm.

I mean the album. Have u tried? I’m sure you’ll worship it hahaha.

No, seriously I had been recommending them to you. But that’s ok now since you love them now hahaha.

Here’s the post when I recommended Agnes to you: http://www.theprophetblog.net/brave-girls-hit-the-scene
Actually, I tried 2 times but I can’t find another one.

I wonder what European artist(s) they will buy their songs from for them this time *laughs*

I’ll give it a chance though.

    Hey i’m back ;)

Bonamama didn’t really win them new fans. It notably underwhelmed in the digital charts, given their stature. I blame SM more: they have been milking Sorry Sorry to death, by re-writing it over & over for Suju.

What’s with all these groups with TOO MANY people in them??? smh I like to keep them to 5 or less.

the production on bonomana was soooooooooooo basic compared to the sorry sorry album. every track on that record had title track material. needless to say i’m hyped for their 5th album thanks to heechul’s tweet. i praying they can come up with a song that’s a little left field but still hits their demographic.

    never forget:

i hope they learned from the success of “neorago”. everyone (yes all 30 of them lol) were highlighted here. great choreography from the dance line, amazing emotional vocals from the vocal line, and wonderful fanservice (i.e., stripping) from the visual line. flawless.

    i miss ya hangeng.
