Sugababes 4.0 perform “About a Girl” on GMTV
The Sugababes delivered their first televised performance since booting out Keisha Buchanan this morning, performing their new single “About a Girl” on breakfast show GMTV.
This started off as a hot mess, but gradually managed to work it’s way up to mediocre. Heidi did a good job, but Amelle was acting like a magical goblin just sucked out all her energy. I seriously thought she was going to fall asleep on stage.
As for Jade… well to be brutally honest I didn’t even notice her. I guess I’m not used to them having a new member yet, so all my attention was focused on the familiar faces.
I think as a whole they were just nervous to be back out there because the end of the performance wasn’t that bad and they looked more comfortable. They just need to get out a bit more and they’ll be ok. Practice makes perfect!

Eww no! I cant stand Heidi! She is looking terrible these days, very frumpy middle aged housewife if you asked me. Her voice is totally average as well and her dancing just seems so classless! I actually enjoy Amelle though, there is def something about her which sets her apart! I would put her in a similar category to Rihanna… Jade hardly sung anything there but at least she looks great and can dance!
They did look a bit odd.
Jade seemed happy and her choreography was a little more polished.
Problem is it just makes her look like a solo artist. Jade did stand out to me (not vocally) but i found my eyes drawn to her over the other two.
Amelle looked like she was walking around the mall drunk with a karaoke machine on hand.
And Heidi reminds me of Regina George’s mum in Mean Girls.

First of all Heidi looked like she just woke up, squinty eyes and possibly just got electrocuted with that hair.
They don’t gel well together yet, might take a few more performances or not. They pretty much lacked any energy, maybe they were dead from having to carry the serial-drunk around.

Its almost like they’re all fighting for attention in their own ways. Almost all trying to take the lead position now that the Beyonce’s gone.
The performance was ok but i think they look a mess.
You know what they need.
They Pinky from that ex Destiny’s Child band!
They need some Pinky to bring the heat and keep them in check.

They looked great. Amelle is not a dancer as we can see and probably she did not remember because Sugababes are not used to dancing while they perform. She sounded great and I think they blend in a odd way that makes it watchable. Jade was amazing with the dancing and her vocals were on point as well. Heidi did good too, and she is shaped alot differently than the others so she will not look like a twig as some are wishing she would. And to the prophet they are not the Sugababes 4.0, they have just evolved over time and are trying out new people. I think the dancing was okay, mainly because they are not use to doing it. Amelle did not look drunk, she always seems to look that way, even when the group performs slow songs she has a certain deadness about her. and people need to get over Keisha leaving seriously.
Stephen I think you’re one of the last Sugababes stans in the world. The performance sucked… It sounded good because it was pre-recorded and they don’t look like a group. They look like 2 solo artists and somebody’s mom were forced to share a stage.
I’ve never watched a Sugababes performance in the past (with old lineup) but these girls sound terrible together. When they did their solos you can hear they have vocal abilities but when they were in unison they sounded awful. It didn’t sound anything like the CD version or anything like a proper live performance.
Just sounded like some half assed run through in the recording booth. Blah.

I feel like Jade doesn’t belong in the group, but in a good way though. I mean, the other 2 are a lil older and they’re dressed pretty conservatively, and then u got Jade in a shiny lil dress showin some sexy skin. It’s like putting Beyonce/Sasha in a girlgroup with a couple of nuns!(judging by look alone, not talent). She’s better off solo. Don’t like her voice as much as Kiesha’s but I like her better than those 2 energy suckers!
