Sky Ferreira reveals amazing non-electro producers on debut album

When Sky Ferreira said she was over dance-pop, the bitch wasn’t kidding.

In a new interview with Elle, the model-singer spilled the tea on the amazingly badass collaborators she’s scored to work on her long-awaited debut album, and when I say they’re seriously amazing, I’m not f-ing kidding.

Sky’s somehow managed to snag Fiona Apple’s longtime producer Jon Brion, who crafted Apple’s first two studio albums, and the unreleased version of her third. He’s also worked with Dido, Kanye West, and Aimee Mann, putting Ferreira in good hands.

If Brion wasn’t enough, Sky’s also “possibly” going to record with Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson!

On top of that, Sky’s still working with Greg Kurstin (Sia, Britney, Lily Allen), and she’s been writing with her boyfriend Nick, who is in the catchy hipster-rock band, The Virgins. And we already know that she’s been in the studio with Paul Epworth (Florence + the Machine, Adele), rounding out what is shaping up to be one defining album.

The first single is currently due out in February, so it won’t be too long now until we can bless our ears with the stunning new sounds of Sky Ferreira.

Until then, check out a recent video of Sky performing some acoustic versions of her new material below.

I still need to hear this first. All those names could mean nothing at all. Didn´t Jon Brion produce Dido´s third sappy album who flopped badly a few years ago?

not here for not-electropop sky … she just changed her direction, cause she was flopping with her older material, i doubt she’ll get a hit this time if she couldn’t even get a hit when she was doing music that was “in” …

The As If Ep was defining, amazing, legendary, epic etc etc So i hope the follow-up has a more pop/alternative vibe instead of just full on indie girl rock b.s.
