Sky Ferreira + Bloodshy & Avant = ONE.

Sky Ferreira already sung about the dangers of being a modern day teen on her buzz track “17″, but now she’s ready to get down to business with launch of her first official single “One”.
As the protégé of production powerhouse Bloodshy & Avant, it’s only right that Sky get the Swedish duo to work their magic by helming her first single, and of course when you mention Bloodshy & Avant, it’s hard to overlook their most famous product – Britney Spears.
Yes, the Queen B’s influences can be heard throughout the track, most notably on it’s heavily auto-tuned, robotic vocals, as well as the melancholy delivery on some of the lines. The counting pattern in “One” sounds similar to Britney’s hit nursery rhyme “3″, and the lyrical content and vocals could almost be compared to the leaked “Telephone” demo. Elements of Norwegian pop princess Annie are also strongly present as well.
Just like Britney though, Sky doesn’t let synthesized instruments and computerized vocals overshadow her personality, and still manages to get through some emotion on this club-ready break up anthem.
Basically it’s a 10 out of 10 and my new favorite song (for the time being).
