It’s definitely got southern hip sound with the snares and kickdrum which is trademarks of the genre, but it’s not your typical southern sound. It’s got multiple influences, but it’s def southern hip hop at the base

THIS. Even though I prefer “Time’s Up”, “I Don’t Need A Man” is still nifty, and they actually all get a chance to sing, unlike “CL and the Clouds”.

I just bought the EP. I thought I was going to cherry pick b/c I love Miss A but not so much this song. But then I heard the last three tracks were are all amazing. Time’s Up should’ve been the first single in my opinion. And the midtempo ballads are gorgeous. Completely mismarketed b/c this EP is doing things you don’t hear from American R&B. And I’m upset, b/c Lips should’ve been their last first single. Touch should’ve been saved as a second single. Start with something commercial (and amazing!) then go for the challenging grower. Ay ay ay.

i somehow agree with you… i mean, a WHOLE concept based on another girl group? okay, this turned out to be better than expected, but it is just too sleazy in my opinion… and with that it feels like jype is always neglecting miss a with second handed concepts and comebacks. “touch” was amazing in my opinion, but they’re round of promotions was so warm and as you said, lightweight. and this new mini is great, but well, i don’t need a man is not the best song on the “project”.

I…don’t really like this. I agree that they never have had a truly BAD single, but I feel like JYPE is WASTING Miss A. Miss A are literally the best female dancers in K-Pop but why does JYP keep giving them these lightweight songs and even LIGHTER choreos? This isn’t “Miss A” to me. I would expect a nugu group to come out with this. I feel like Miss A deserve better.
