Shakira premieres “Loca” music video.
Shakira has just premiered the official music video for her new single “Loca”, featuring UK grime MC Dizzee Rascal.
The MV was filmed in Barcelona by long-time Shakira collaborator Jaume de Laiguana, who has shot eight video’s for the singer throughout her career. Think of him as the Anthony Mandler to Shakira’s Rihanna. The pair haven’t taken your regular approach to music videos, ditching the high gloss and special effects and filming the whole clip with what looks like a handy cam, giving it a kind fly-on-the-wall, reality TV feel. The shaky cam follows Shakira as dances around the streets of Barcelona, causing a fan a frenzy, and then later fleeing on the back of a motorcycle. Since it didn’t sell, she’s also ditched the Playboy playmate image from She Wolf and gone back to her old dreads for a wild, natural look.
