Selena Gomez premieres new single “Round & Round”.

Disney cutie Selena Gomez (and her non-existent band The Scene) premiered their new single “Round & Round” earlier today on Radio Disney. The song is reportedly produced by “Let It Rock” hitmaker Kevin Rudolph and will serve as the first official single from Selena’s upcoming sophomore album.

The electro-pop number is a similar style to Selena’s breakthrough hit “Naturally”, but multiplied and taken up to the next level. Think of what “Bad Romance” was to “Poker Face” and you’ll get my drift.

It’s incredibly catchy and fun, and the upbeat nature of the song makes it much more enjoyable to listen to than Miley Cyrus’ stab at maturity “Can’t Be Tamed”.

Selena could have a real hit on her hands.

It’s my new guilty pleasure, minus the fact that I don’t actually feel guilty in the slighest for loving this!

    I knew she had the potential to have a piece of the Top 40 pie, now if she has a good music video and is promoted properly… this success can become reality.

    The only problem I notice is that some people may be tired of hearing the constant “round and round” repeating lyrics and simplistic lyrics, but it does enforce the theme of the song.

    Um Hilary has probably sold 10 million albums. Metamorphosis sold over 5 million on it’s own.

    Honestly Miley and co will never make an album as good as Hilary’s Dignity.

    Actually Hilary has sung live plenty of times and I’ve been to two of her tours and she sung live and was great.

    But yes, Miley is a WAY better performer than her, I’m not denying that, but Dignity is better than all of Miley, Demi and Selena’s albums put together. Dignity is way more mature and innovative than Can’t Be Tamed. In fact, CBT and Dignity couldn’t be any more different.

    CBT is still controlled heavily by Disney. Before CBT Miley even said she was doing “one more album” of stuff that the fans and mainstream want, then in the future she’d try do her own stuff. CBT is super manufactured, you can hear it on the album. Not saying it’s a bad album, it’s actually good, but Dignity is innovative and fresh and nothing like a Disney record.

    Selena is a naturally talented girl and she always wanted to be a singer but ended up being actress due to that’s where her real talent is! I don’t see the need for comparison cause this girl can sing and she makes good music! Her debut album was really good and I’m not a fan of that type of music but this song is really good and I think she can be a successful singer/actress if marketed correctly due to she’s the whole package!

    Anyway, THIS WILL BE A HIT. If I’m being objective, Can’t Be Tamed is a little bit better than this song, but Round & Round shits on every other track on Miley’s new album. I was surprised by how bad her album was.

    The song is OKAY. Since she is trying to be a “singer” we will have to watch her perform this horribly. I hate when actresses think they can just release songs and MV’s and not perform them GOOD. Her Dancing With The Stars performance was absolutely dreadful.
