Ryan Tedder promises not to ruin Adele’s new album
British soul singer Adele is currently working on the follow-up to to her Grammy award winning debut 19, and she’s enlisted the services of One Republic hit-maker Ryan Tedder to lend a hand. There’s no need to be alarmed though — according to Ryan we won’t be getting any of his trademark recycled beats.
“19, that album was so absolutely mind-blowing to me, so simple and beautiful that I don’t want myself as a fan to interfere with her sound.
“Yesterday the song we did was very much Adele – it was 10% Ryan, 90% Adele.”
He says he told the singer: “I don’t want to put you through the Ryan Tedder machine where you end up with a song that sounds as much like Ryan Tedder as it does Adele.” [source]
Thank God. I’m sure Adele will bring out the best in Ryan, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they created some musical magic together. Adele is also working with Eg White who was responsible for the majority of her first record, so her sophomore album will probably be one of the must haves of 2010.

I love ‘19,’ but I hope Ryan isn’t just saying that, then we get the songs and it sounds like a typical Ryan song. I’m still mad @ that generic mess he gave Alicia on her new album and I don’t need him trying to add to ‘Rated R’ either. He needs to take a break and get inspired again, because even the OneRepublic album released a few weeks ago is terrible and I listen to their debut all the time.
