RUMOUR: Alicia Keys “The Element of Freedom” album cover
Despite this cover of Alicia Keys fourth album The Element of Freedom being released on Amazon and appearing on various blogs, Alicia’s main fansite are stating that this is NOT in fact the official album artwork.
I thought that I would just post it anyway though on the off chance that it does in fact turn out to be official.
What do you think of it? Should she keep it or try something new? I absolutely hated this at first, but now I’m actually feeling the vintage 70’s look. It’s very Cher! My only gripe is that the music hasn’t reflected the artwork or font so far.

I don’t think it’s bad. I think it’s a bit dated however and the font is way off. But it’s not a bad umm promo pic.

That’s the font used for TrySleeping. I hate the cover, this better be a fake. She looks way too hollywood for a “Freedom” title.
Oh hell no! Alicia thinks she’s the second coming this era and it is not working. In the “Doesn’t Mean Anything” video she thinks her music is conquering the world by climbing that mountain and the desert feel and the pics of “Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart” video look cheesy as hell, like she’s Mother Theresa. At least she has high hopes for this project, but that cover screams pop artist like Bey, Christina or GaGa, but Alicia has stuck to the same old R&B/Soul that she’s been doing for years. I don’t see much growth in her as an artist and while it may have been okay for the first 3 albums, it will not do with the 4th album. The 4th album is what establishes an artist as a legend. Madonna’s ‘Like A Prayer,’ Mariah’s ‘Daydream,’ Whitney’s ‘My Love Is Your Love’ and Janet’s ‘The Velvet Rope’ solidified their spots as legends and were all their 4th albums. I hope Alicia trys a more upbeat song as a single for once, I don’t need a club banga, but something different from her usual will do.
And Mary J.’s ‘Mary’ album since they are on more of the same level as far as style. That was her 4th album as well. All those albums are pretty iconic and Homewrecker Keys better get her shit together.
Lisa, you sound like a damn dumbass. how in the hell is she “thinking” shes the second coming? or “concurring the world” by climbing a mountain in a video. Usher did it, is he concurring the world too? i hate when ppl talk out of their neck, they sound stupid.
also, you contradicted yourself. you said the cover screams pop but she stuck to the same formula. Alicia has not stuck to any “same formula”. her first album reflected the hip-hop she grew up with and r&b influences, her second album was the most soulful and r&b influenced, while her third was her true step into the pop world, while having some of her r&b songs in the mix. there are 3 different albums but are all intertwined because they have traditional AK wtih outside influences.
this is not the official cover but she still looks beautiful. “homewrecker”, look better than you, means much more in life than you, Keys will be fine

I like this cover but it’s soooooo 70’s. It’s really vintage looking. Only thing I dont like is that it doesn’t reflect this era. This era is not 70’s inspired, so lose the old school cher headpieces and hippy janis joplin font
I preferred the grey covers. But this one is ok for a single I guess, not the album. Try Sleeping, the grey version with her hand in her hair and then the one with her kneeling are FIYA…
I hate the thing on her head, if she took it off and had her hair showing I would think it’s a very pretty cover……but right now I think she looks like an idiot. I’m actually kinda curious about this album I’ve never been a big fan of hers, but I love Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart…..so when the album leaks I’m deff gonna check it out!
