Paris Hilton “inspired” by Kylie Minogue for sophomore album
Socialite Paris Hilton will reportedly channel pop princess Kylie Minogue on her upcoming sophomore album, revealing the news during a recent interview with OK magazine.
“Recording is going amazing. My new album is inspired by Kylie Minogue. I wrote all the songs myself. I will be performing next year.”
Hilton also took to her official Twitter to gush about her Idol.
“I love her! She is so beautiful and talented and such an inspiration for my new album.”
This comes only a month after I previously reported that the heirhead was back in the studio after being spotted attending vocal lessons in L.A.
Although she has been recording her sophomore effort since November 2007, recent reports indicate that she scrapped the previous material and started again from scratch.
“Paris is preparing for album number two,” said a source in early September. “She’s super excited about it and the stuff she’s started working on sounds amazing. There is no question, she’s going to have another hit off this album.”
Hiltons first album, Paris, was released in 2006 and only managed to sell about 180k in the US, but it did reach a total of roughly 500k worldwide. It also spawned the hit single “Stars Are Blind” which peaked in the top 20 of the Hot 100, and managed to reach the top 5 and 10 in most countries internationally.
In other news, fellow tabloid staple Lindsay Lohan is also reportedly still working on her third album Spirit In The Dark, with her rep confirming that recent reports indicating she had been dropped from her label were false. [source]
I love Paris’ first album so I’m glad to know that she’s actually attempting to release a second one. She has zero talent but as long as she has some good producers she can still turn out some hot songs. I think a Kylie-esque sound would suit her, but I hope she keeps some of the urban-pop sound of her debut. She’d be a fool not to work with Scott Storch again because he created some great tracks for her.

i love her first album, i think it’s pretty good, but it didn’t have success just becuz it’s paris, but it was clearly better than many albums of the same year

I don’t see why Paris didn’t turn up the sexy in the first place. I might actually listen to her music if she starts being a bit more edgy with it.
PARIS was actually a good pop album. People just hated it because she sang it.
