OMG: VIXX Stopped Flopping, Their New Single is a Hit!

Just a few days ago I devoted a giant post to boy band VIXX. I talked about how I’d just discovered them and was utterly slayed by their iconic tunes, and how they’re the biggest flops known to man and will probably disband by the end of the year. Now the new GAON chart is out, and guess what? VIXX have clawed their way out of the bargain bin!
Their latest single, the phucking amazing “On and On,” debuted at No. 25 this week, making it the group’s first song to ever chart within the top 100.

The position isn’t just impressive by VIXX’s standards, but by all rookie boy band standards in general. Boy bands tend to have high physical sales but bomb out on the digital charts, while the opposite applies for girl groups. For a relatively unsuccessful male rookie act to actually hit No. 25 is impressive. They even charted higher than 2YOON, who sadly had to settle for No. 30 with “24/7″ (which is actually growing on me tbh). Even if VIXX plummet down the charts next week, at least this progress will stop them from getting 86′d for another couple of months.
If only “Super Hero” could’ve experienced the same kind of success. They need to re-release that shit now that they’re Korea’s hottest new boy band sensation so that the Korean people can experience 2012′s most stunning synth-pop song.
