OMG: Justin Timberlake recording third solo album next year?

OK, before you read this post, take a deep breath and chant “serenity now” several times to yourself. Continue until you have reached a calm and relaxed state of mind, and then proceed onto the text below.

One of Justin Timberlake’s stans, fed up with the singer’s reluctance to talk about his solo music career, bombarded producer Timbaland’s recently-opened Twitter account with tweets about Justin’s next album. Timbo was gracious enough to reply, revealing that the pair were planning to reunite “next year”, which, thank God, isn’t that far away now.

Meanwhile, Justin hinted at a music comeback at his recent annual charity concert in Vegas, performing Drake’s “Over” and then saying to the crowd:

“Don’t be pissed off that I’m an actor, it’s not over. And when I come back, I’m come harder. Cause that’s right, I’m doing me. I’m living life right now man and this what I’m gonna do til it’s over, but it’s far from over.”

Speaking of Drake, the rapper just announced that he’s been in talks with Justin about doing a song together, and that it’s likely to happen soon. While he didn’t go into specifics, one would automatically assume that the collaboration would most likely be for Drake’s upcoming sophomore album, but at least it’s better than nothing.

If Timbaland’s Tweet about reuniting for Justin’s new record next year are accurate, then it would certainly fall in line with JT’s schedule. He’s currently tied up with several film projects, but one look at his IMDB page shows that they should all be wrapped up early into next year.

Fingers crossed.

By the way, was anybody else obsessed with “I’m Lovin’ It” back in the day and furious that it wasn’t on Justified?

Hmmm cannot wait! What kind of music style he will bring to the table. Hope something really new, fresh & less electropop. Will wait for more breaking news.

  • JayCred

With Timbaland again?.. I really don’t want a FS/LS again. As much as I love that album, I don’t need a part ll. Gimme something fresh please!

Um…. meh…. not really bothered unless he’s doing a track with Britney or XTina. Timbaland didn’t say it was for a JT album “technically” it’s probably for a new Timbaland album since his last one bombed and pluss if JT is working with Tim i’m even less enthusiastic since he’s so stale these days…

Never was into JT really except *i can see us holdin hands, walkin on the beach out toes in the sand, you can be my lady, let me look at my baby*

That song makes me want a big mac ;)

Dang, Justin Timberlake is working with his buttbuddy Timbaland again?!? Sheesh, Timbaland was ALL OVER that FS/LS album and maybe 2 songs out of the whole album was with a different producer.

Hopefully Justin will choose a greater variety of producers with this 3rd album, plus he has time to do so anyways.

Oh, I’m gonna need another classic like Until the End of Time, heard that shit on the radio today and it made me fall in love all over again.

    @Jaycred

i always start balling when I hear that song (yes, the Bey version, best thing she ever bloody did) and I never get emotional like that!

  • JayCred

@The Prophet YES! I mean, I love Bey, but that is truly one of the best things she’s ever done. It was like Dangerously In Love without the hoodness. Beautiful song though. Their harmonies were amazing too ahh.

  • BritBaybe

I hope he does come back and Timbaland gives him the encouragement to work in music again.

I’m Lovin’ It Is a classic
I think Justin should work with Pharrell again!

uhm khlovess lat time i checked “The Social Network” his latest movie is getting praised, and people give him even a chanche to win an oscar, the movie is a worldwide smash,so flop movie?
you dont know s#t a bout showbizz, people practicly beg him for a new album, and seeing the kind of crap thats in the charts these days,i cant blame them.
FSLS is considered to be on of the best albums of the previous decade.
And no im not a stan,i just respect talented artists and he is very talented.

Every time I hear I’m Lovin It, it reminds me of McDonalds. Stupid advertising.
Both of his albums were excellent but going back with Timbo? Not excited about that to be honest.

  • Becca

“I’m Loving It” was whack, I’m so happy it didn’t make the album :P

this is great news!! but the timbaland thing makes me worried. he better put out something fresh.

Maybe cos ‘I’m Lovin’ It’ was meant for the McD campaign and would have diluted his artistic credibility if he slapped it on? I seem to recall JT was trying hard to shake off the Mr.Britney label back then, so he definitely didn’t need to give the critics any amunition.

On a side note, I would <3 to see JT and Brit Brit on a song together (and not just as a producer)!!!

  • blackcanary

i don’t want to do him another album with timbaland if it’s going to be like fs/ls … justified was way better.

  • http://www.lilfreak.com/usher.htm Usher

It has already been six months since Usher put out his track Lil Freak and I still enjoy it. The Stevie Wonder sample is wonderful with Usher’s sultry vocals and the horns mix well with Nicki’s fierce rapping style. Though Lil Freak didn’t do as well as Usher’s pop song, OMG, Lil Freak is definitely the better song, probably the best one on the album!

  • Morons

To anyone on this website bustin the Tim and Justin collab, wake up! You morons have no idea what the hell you’re talkin about. Obviously, you all need to throw back in that FS/LS, lol. And to the idiot that said Justified was better, you’re the biggest idiot in here, even though Tim produced both albums, majority at least. They make magic together, and Tim saves his best sounds for Justin. Take Tim off Justin’s album, he flops! Look at what happened to Ginuwine. Justin is good, don’t get me wrong, but without Tim, his album is mediocre.

  • TB

Timbaland only produced 3 tracks on Justified, actually. And I agree with whoever said that album is better than FS/LS. The only songs that are good on FS/LS are the ones where JT sang solo or without Timbaland, which sadly doesn’t leave many songs to like.
