Nicki Minaj mistaken for a piece of plastic on music video shoot

Rap star Nicki Minaj found herself in hot water yesterday after being mistaken for a plastic bag.
The curvy songstress was in Hawaii shooting the beach-themed music video for her new single “Starships” when a group of environmentalists confused her for plastic waste materials and tried to remove her from the shore.
“We go out on cleanups once a week,” said Honolulu resident Eileen Jenson, head of the HMAPW (Hawaiian Moms Against Plastic Waste) environmental group.
“Plastic waste in the ocean can unleash harmful chemicals into the water, and it can trap fish and other marine life,” a concerned Eileen continued. “So we do our bit to keep the local beaches clean and safe.”
But what Eileen never expected to find was a pop star in the place of a plastic bag.
“I noticed what looked like a huge clump of plastic bags and trash covered in green seaweed on the shore, so I headed over to remove it with the other moms,” she said. “We tried to drag it away to throw it in the recycling bin where it belongs, but it started moving and making weird noises. We were worried that perhaps a baby whale was trapped underneath all the rubbish.”
Eileen and the rest of HMAPW were quickly stopped by Minaj’s security, who explained that the plastic wasn’t actually rubbish, but a chart-topping Hip-Hop queen.
“We all had a good laugh over it,” chuckled Eileen, who admitted that she’d never heard of the star. “Nicole was very nice about it all, and even said that this wasn’t the first time this has happened to her.”
After getting the star’s autograph for her daughter, Eileen and the rest of the moms left to continue the rest of their cleanup for the day.
“I guess I’ll think twice before cleaning up trash in the future!”
