Nicki Minaj & Cassie premiere video for flaw-free duet “The Boys”

I’ve been the #1 Nicki Minaj hater in the game for a minute now, but I’ve found myself warming to the plasticine songstress ever since she collaborated with my favorite underrated starlet Cassie, joined my favorite singing show American Idol, and snatched the raggedy wig of my favorite self-obsessed primadonna Mariah Carey.

Now, I’m not saying that I’m a fan or anything just yet, but anybody who can stand up to “her fuckin’ highness” is a winner in my book.

Diva beef aside, the music video for Nicki and Cassie‘s killer duet “The Boys” has dropped, and it’s real fun. Imagine a cuter, less STD-ridden version of “Super Bass” or “Stupid Hoe”, and you’ve got “The Boys”. As usual, Nicki looks like a cartoon porn star from the hood, while Cassie looks like a flawless kween from the Philippines.

“The Boys” hasn’t charted yet, so I’m kind of wondering to myself what the fuck is wrong with you people? “Your Love” was a hit but this can’t even chart? Step it up people! Go blow your nearest radio programmer so they’ll start spinning this hot tune.

    I liked it when just a clip leaked a while ago and we thought it was a cassie tune, but nicki’s verses feel so out of sync with the hook. kinda ruins the song for me.

    So glad Cassie kept her grind up with magazine shoots, in between albums/releasing any other form of music (seriously, I’m gasping for it over here Ms. Ventura!) – you can see how she moves her body that she feels comfortable on a set and fluid in front of the camera…

    While Ms. Minaj still comes to terms with whatever candy floss-coloured wig has been placed too low on her forehead that day…

    I prefer the song without Nick Minaj…damn she just had to ruin it unfortunately. But I would’ve welcomed the song with a verse or two featuring Nicki at least.

    This video is a hot mess, just like Nicki herself but it’s a fun hot mess to say the least. Cassie was oozing swag & her looks were on point (cept for that nasty yellow hair gel).

    But Proph, I’m on the same page as you. Why hasn’t this killer tune charted whatsoever? Even “Stupid Hoe” charted higher than “The Boys”! Here’s to hoping Nicki gets her big silicone ass out there & starts promoting. It would be a shame to watch a song with so much potential go to waste.

    I won’t for one second pretend that i’m a fan of Nicki Minaj. I’ve pretty much loathed her since I jumped off her ‘Starship’ in April. She’s gone completely mainstream, and not even in a fun ‘here’s a #1′ way … It’s to the point of her being EVERYWHERE 24/7.

    That being said, just when I start to really, really hate her… she goes and releases something like ‘the Boys’. This one feels like the old Nicki. I love, love, love that Cassie is the feature, and I think they’re flawless together.

    The visual is futuristic, colorful, and fun. NIcki Minaj may be one giant mess in my opinion, but this time around, the mess is so colorful and crazy, that it kinda works.

    I’ll be over it tomorrow though.

    4/5 in my book.

    Nicki Has not had a song this good in a while iv loved her since beam me up scotty and was still behind her when Pink Friday:Roman Reloaded came out, but I’m starting to get over her. I always knew she was business minded but now i see that its just a business to her and Nicki Minaj doesn’t give a shit about the music and is just a brand. A brand that’s just every other girl in the industry thrown together in the most cheap and desperate way. Although Her Mixtape of demos Pink Friday: The Lost tapes is giving me hope even though I know there from like two years ago.

    Even though Nicki is whack, Cassie can’t sing worth a damn, and the song is just typical Hip-pop garbage, I thought the video was a step in the right direction.
