NEW MUSIC! Sade – Soldier of Love [1st Single]
After eight years away from the music scene Sade Adu is back with “Soldier of Love”, the first single from the bands new album of the same name.
Compared to her previous material “Soldier of Love” really packs a punch. It’s dark and mysterious, with Sade’s haunting vocals gliding over the military style beat. The whole track is dripping with soul & pain, and Sade really brings a level of emotion to the song that hasn’t been heard in popular music for a very long time.
The best way to describe this song is using one clichéd word — EPIC!

I agree with Josias – it doesn’t have that mainstream vibe, but it’s classic Sade. Something in the lyrics reminded me of a track from Lover’s Rock. I love it though, let’s all hold hands and rejoice for the return! Bring on Soldier Of Love. Good night lol

She hasnt had a CD since 2002 Holara. I probably wouldnt know her that well if my mum hadn’t owned her CD when I was little. Shes amazing tho…

thanks for the info proph! i checked out wikipedia as well, and they had some good info. I don’t know if they ever play her stuff here in Australia, but i doubt it. The songs they play here on the tv and radio is whack and i hate it.
I check out “Smooth Operator” and i liked it. The kinda jazzy tone was cool and a nice change from the headache-inducing electro beats we hear today. I’ll definitely be checking her out now, thanks!
If only she didn’t take 8-10 years between each and every album!! But maybe that’s the key to her success.

Can’t remember the last time I listened to a six minute song and was sad that it ended. The beat is so original, like something Timbaland wishes he’d come up with.
This brought tears to my eyes. It definitely sounds like a military march set to a song about love and life.
I am obsessed. SADE will never let us down, she just gets better with time.

I have been a fan for over 20 years, I love working with music as well as listening, and after being such a huge follower of Sade/Denman/Matthewman and listening to that “Sade Sound” for 2 decades almost daily, I think my opinion to be validated when I say this new release SUCKS. It is not the “Sade Sound”, the mix on this song is horrible as well as the artistic side of it. It is as though it was all done in someone’s garage singing through a Karaoke machine. It is just severely disappointing from every aspect. I suspect this will be the biggest let down of the year after seeing some other fans around me with the same reaction. This song is cheesy to say the least.
Shame on you Sade. Very disappointing.
