NEW MUSIC! Lady GaGa Feat Beyonce – Telephone [2nd Single]
Lady GaGa and Beyonce’s second duet “Telephone” has just leaked online, only a few hours after their first song “Video Phone” hit the web. The Darkchild produced track was originally written for Britney Spears, but will now serve as the second single from GaGa’s new album The Fame Monster.
Now that I’ve heard this I can definitely say that I’m glad Britney didn’t record it because it’s much more suited to GaGa’s style. It’s a fun fast paced electro-pop song that definitely works better a as a diva duet between GaGa & Bey rather than as a solo track. Beyonce is definitely the stand out though, with her accent adding a sassy swagga to the song.
It’s not as good as I thought it would be but it should have the GaGa stans creaming their panties, and with two of the biggest female artists together on one song how could it not be a hit?

I just think it’s more GaGa’s style. I think of Britney’s songs like Gimme More, Piece of Me, Slave 4 u, they just have a different vibe.
This song is hot tho but it’s not my thing, maybe I dont like gaga that much on it. Beyonce killed it tho.

I dunno, I am definitely underwhelmed by this!! I’m a little sad because I was expecting more. All of the other GaGa songs leaked so far are very good, and this is just kinda clangy and annoying. I do not like the beeps at all. Beyonce sounded nice, but the production overall is grating to me.
I’m sure it’ll do okay as a single simply due to star power though.
I also think Britney’s vocals on this would have been better. She has a unique voice and a way of making a song sound good, that would otherwise come out mediocre…which unfortunately is what this is! Bad Romance, Alejandro, and Dance in the Dark are eons better than Telephone.

I guess I feel a little Beyonce-d out, and GaG-d with seeing their names, faces and hearing them everywhere I go. TWO collaborations is kinda excessive if you ask me. One of them is bound to fail as a single.

Britney has a special magic that makes a song come alive like nobody else can.
But at the same time I can see why she turned this down. This sounds more like a gaga song coz it’s like full on dance. Britneys music is either more subtle or more edgy than GaGa’s

I can totally see why Britney turned this down. it seems she has a natural istinct for good songs. This song sounds like a mess and Beyonce outshined gaga on her own song, even if she had a smal part.
Britney’s vocals could’ve killed this song, but i;m so glad she took Phonograpy over this, which has a much better production and melody.
Gaga’s songs all sound the same, she doesnt put anything new to her songs, while Britney changes up her style every now and then. She is edgy, knows what the crowds wants and with her vocals she can kill every song. Unique like no one else.

I highly doubt Lady GaGa is going anywhere anytime soon. But she won’t be able to maintain her notoriety and this level of popularity for much longer because simply put, the BEAT of this song is very similar to everything else she has released as a single besides Paparazzi. Stars get white hot, stay that way for a while, and end up burning out. It’s happened to everyone.
I think once the electro dance craze calms down, Lady GaGa will have to really change it up to stay relevant.

People are not only saying BRITNEY turned it down, THOSE ARE FACTS THAT WERE CONFIRMED. Gaga used it after Britney turned it down for her Circus. And Britney rejecting Umbrella, simple fact, all the songs that were rejected were rejected by hear team because, I think Britney was in Rehab at that time. Britney chose the direction for her Blackout album then, chose all the songs herself and all of them shit on Umbrella.
