New ‘Michael Jackson’ (?) single surfaces. But is it really him?

Sony Music today released the brand new Michael Jackson single “Breaking News” onto MJ’s official website, but is it actually the late singer on the track, or somebody else? Michael’s mother Katherine, and two of his children, Paris and Prince, are claiming that vocals on the track do not belong to the legendary entertainer.

In addition, Jackson nephew TJ went on Twitter hours ago to unleash a small rant about the track, swearing black and blue that the “Breaking News” vocals are not Michael’s.

There’s many MJ vocal impersonators. Some better than others. But there is only ONE Michael Jackson. Deceptively merging shady vocals with MJ samples (from prior MJ records) will never fool me. Why they would ignore the obvious, look the other way and rush a suspicious track that was NEVER on my Uncle’s radar is beyond me. I’m disgusted, disappointed and saddened. And before the media starts to smear our name, just remember we are COMMITTED (as our Uncle Michael always knew) to protect his name and his amazing legacy he worked his whole life for. We have nothing to gain and we know they will try to drag our name through the mud. But we know how much he valued his legacy and his fans. And cheating either is unacceptable. “Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons”

Sounds like Jason Malachi to me too. The vibrato is a dead give away that it’s not my uncle. Fans, I am so sorry you were put through this. If you heard the acapella you would be even more disgusted. Sampled breaths after sampled breaths mixed in with fake vocals to try to fool you. They said this is 100% my Uncle. Not 70, 80 or 90 but a 100%. Every line, every word. My Uncle’s legacy didn’t deserve this!

However, Sony are still sticking by their claims that it is, in fact, the King of Pop, claiming they’ve run voice authentications as proof.

Is the song really MJ? I hope not, because it’s not nearly as good as his last proper lead single, “You Rock My World”. Even if it is MJ on the track, we all know that he was an obsessive perfectionist, and knowing that his unfinished and unreleased material is now being released without his consent would literally have the King rolling in his grave.

If you’re a true Michael Jackson fan, then you’ll follow his wishes and the wishes of his family by NOT supporting any posthumous releases of his music.

Helen Keller knows this ain’t MJ!!!

  • Yogibear

How weird. I didn’t even know about this drama and when I first listened to the song I thought to myself that this doesn’t sound like him. The voice sounds young to me.

  • Mikka

Ewee. What the hell is that? LOL That is NOT MJ. WTF It doesn’t even sound like him.

  • prophet diciple

i dont think that this is him, it sounds like him in some parts and others hell no.
@prophet, dont say rolling in his grave, please, its really disrespectful.

  • Lild

Yeah go proph! sony is exploiting MJ just for the millions they expect to make of it! And is ang on that money even going to his kids? Cause i heard it aint! Instead of buying the ‘fake’ MJ album go buy Ciara’s Basic Instinct! Which lets all face it needs to chart atleast in the top 10 billboard 200!
    #BasicInstinct 12-14-10!!!!!!

  • Jason

It sounds more like Simon Curtis or a demo for Britney :) The song is not bad :P

  • marymag

this is not him, does sony think the public is stupid?

  • Jeff

i don’t care if it’s him or not but it SUCKS ASS

  • http://www.poptrend.org Gorkie

  • iamAWESOME

i need ‘iDrag4Mj’ to comment this post..

  • iamAWESOME

but no, that def. isnt him…

and why would i need a single after his death… I just saw paranormal activity 2.. i don’t need this from Sony.

  • http://twitter.com/FUTURESTARdelux FUTURESTARdelux

ugh… I honestly don’t know what to think, in some parts it sounds like him in others it sounds too deep. Maybe it’s a percentage him and a percentage not.
Of course “you rock my world” was better, it was finnished by MJ to his standard although i do like this too. The whole album thing is confusing too, It’s his estate that signed the new deal with $oney so who is running the estate (in trust for his kids i presume)?
I do think it’s shady but not because of anything Joe Jackson or his puppet Katherine says, if Joe was recieving a cut from this you know he’s be pimping the album out like the grieving father not the greedy asshole he is…

@Prophet Disciple, “rolling in his grave” isn’t dissrespectful, it’s just a saying that meanshe wouldn’t be happy at all about this.

LMAO @iamAWSOME and the “Paranormal Activity” thing, and Ciara stans trying to use anything to pimp out “Basic Instinct”… Try getting CIara to actually PERFORM instead off following Kim Kardashian’s plastic ass around town and it might actually sell. #justsaying

  • Ash Jones

it sounds nothing like Michael Jackson and the subject content seems too convenient…

  • Alex K

    Ke$ha >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Breaking News

  • den

Some parts sound like him but other parts don’t. I’m not too sure.
Aren’t the Jacksons getting money if it is his song?

  • marymag

im pretty sure majority of the money goes 2 sony

  • http://twitter.com/FUTURESTARdelux FUTURESTARdelux

@den & @Marymad, the estate signed a $250m contract so the estate (his kids) get royalties and the $250m).

  • Boogie

If you have listened to songs like 2000 Watts and Shout, He liked to experiment with sound. Katherine Jackson is a partner in the Jackson secret vault. And she is exploiting the children by having them on opry and with the belt siginature trash. And they f*cked it up with this confusion and impersonator sh*t. Fans cant really enjoy it without wondering if its him ot not. Its like they want to sabotage everything not involving them! I don’t believe the family’s denials.

This is 100% Michael Jackson!! No doubt in my mind at all. If anyone has doubts than you are not a true fan ’nuff said.

  • Nori

ITS TOTALLY MIXED IN. Unless something happened to Michael’s voice. His voice sounds very similar to Michael, but its off sometimes. I think its a mix between Michael and somebody else. Thats why you can’t really say if its Michael or not. But his voice is not as perfect as Michael’s, listen to Michael’s last song “You Rock My World” more breathes in between and Michael’s voice is definitely wayyy better. This guys voices is definitely a bit deeper.

But i still like the song, i’m just sad if it turns out to be a fake. Money makes the world go round.

  • Jack in the Box

Jason Malachi. Check his myspace. The beginning vocals sound def. like Jason and as others said, you hear the real MJ’s vocals mixed in and appears his vocals start in the middle from there on. A real cut & paste job. Most likely MJ recorded bits and pieces and Malachi connected the whole thing.

  • LizzyG

I think it’s possible that it is him. Yeah, listen to 2000 Watts. He sings in a lower pitch on that track too.

  • Phoenix

so sad they cant just let the man rest in peace but still tryin to milk his existence for money. smh

  • LizzyG

PS It sounds very early 90s, very “My Prerogative” and “Motownphilly”. Wonder if it was recorded around that time or just influenced by that sound.

Now i have been offline for a while but i decided to come online and listen to “the supposed new mj song’ and give my thoughts ..now the beat as any fan should know by now is a typical mj beat.. the song is not really worthy to be an album filler for any mj album as its simply not good enough..but i guess i heard that its not even going to be included on the new mj album(its like a hype single)..now let me explain something..this song has the likelihood of being 90% mj..i believe this because it was a demo that was given to teddy riley to produce.. in producing they have to cut around parts of the song ,mix match and process heavily especially if the original laid down vocals are heavily unfinished (which i believe they were).. now i know a lot of mj fans have said that mj would never mention his own name in his song..but you have to understand that this song was produced after he died and they probably just added him mentioning his own name to the song…this song is not an unreleased song..it just one of his demos that were worked on after his death..i believe its him!! a heavily processed him but him nevertheless
? Is it an unreleased song ? No .Does it feature is vocals? Heavily over processed mj vocals but his vocals nevertheless..all of this was done after his death ….and as a true fan who respects Michael’s wishes i will be supporting the album..because it authorized by his estate the estate that is taking care of his mother ,children and his various charities!!

make sur eu check out my blog http://idrag4mj.blogspot.com/

  • Robier

PLEASE!! IT IS OBVIOUSLY MIXED VOCALS AND IT WAS EVEN DONE WELL. MJ MIXED VOCALS WIT WHO EVER ELSE= NO!!!

  • Andres

I’m not gonna support this..howver I want to download those records ^^

  • Gymjunki3

I heard this yesterday and had no idea about the saga, I immediately thought “this aint MJ & turned it off”

  • jonny

    ^^^ @GymJunki3

i totally did the same thing when i heard it smh i sdony noe wat to believe about music anymore

  • Matthew

people are EXTRA DUMB. ThIS IS micheal. Just with modern day technology such as autotune and synthasizing. you expect him to still sound like he DId when he was 20….no.

  • Shasiquisha-rose

This song is disappearing from the net faster than Miley’s clothes. It Def sounds layered with different vocal qualities though. Whether we will ever know if it is really MJ or not remains to be seen. Us “the public” is lied to on a daily basis, and labels taking our hard earned $ is the norm.

The song as a whole isnt that great either. The lyrics seem almost amateur too. Lets hope it is him, because people are going to buy it anyway.

  • B.o.b.b.y.

I actually thought this was the nephew that went on a “Twitter Rant” after the first listen. Not single worthy.

  • Robier

FUNNY HOW PEOPLE CALL EVERYONE ELSE STUPID BECAUSE THEY DISAGREE WITH THEM LOL.
ANYONE WIT HALF AND EAR AND KNOWS ABOUT VOCALS CAN TELL THAT THE TIMBRE OF MJ’S VOICE WAS MIXED WITH AN AUTOTUNE IMITATOR AND EDITED.

  • 420

Sony are just money hungry sob’s… but this time they’ve gone too far. They’re basically saying the public is stupid by trying to sell something that isn’t authentic. I thought them releasing Mariah Carey compilations to ride off her success everytime she has a new album out was desperate, since she’s been off they’re payroll for over 10 yrs, but this takes the cake

  • julez

I can hear bits and pierces of him, but i dont think its him 100%. i highly doubt it.
