Nelly Furtado working with The Neptunes and Passion Pit for ‘Lifestyle’ album – due this Fall!

Nelly Furtado has confirmed that she’s recruited The Neptunes to produce tracks for her next English record ‘Lifestyle’, who, as you know, recently enlisted Nelly to feature on the new N*E*R*D record “Hot ‘n’ Fun”.

Besides The Neptunes, Nelly has teamed up with the lead singer of awesome electro band Passion Pit, to record what she describes as “a pretty ballad”.

Nelly has also taken some interesting musical inspiration for Lifestyle, revealing to Flare magazine that she’s penned a new song called “The Edge” that was inspired by the Tiger Woods cheating scandal.

In addition to the producers already mentioned, Nelly has also recorded several songs with dance DJ Tiesto, as well as Ryan Tedder and Salaam Remi. She’s even clocked in more than twenty tracks with Timbaland, but it’s currently unclear whether he’ll make the final cut of her album, after she announced back in March that Timbo probably wouldn’t appear on Lifestyle.

Oh, and remember those two unfinished songs that leaked from Nelly – “Free” and “Girlfriend in this City”? Well Nelly spoke about them recently, implying that they’ll probably end up appearing on the new album.

Lifestyle is currently due this Fall, meaning that it’s on track for a fourth quarter release. [Source]

We can now throw Nelly Furtado into the mix of major female popstars dropping albums at the end of this year, which currently already includes Britney Spears, Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry and possibly Taylor Swift.

If it’s like “Hot ‘n’ Fun” then we’re screwed cuz I hate that song. I couldn’t even finish listening to it. I do hope that she bring Timbaland back because overall he is a good producer except that he’s repetitive but I do feel that Nelly can change it around for him thus making him famous again!

U forgot to add Colbie Caillat to ur “major female popstars dropping albums at the end of this year” Ok? xD

Loose is one of the albums that kick started this whole synth pop trend that’s saturating the market now. I don’t think Nelly got enough credit for that album. And it’s a shame Interscope kept f**king around with the singles and put out different ones for different regions and gave her a budget for the videos which wouldn’t even buy you a box of lime scale tablets for a washing machine.

I think Loose was an absolute beast of a record. I still play it. And it was one of the last albums Timbaland had anything to do with which was actually decent. After Loose and FutureSex/LoveSounds, that n***a fell off faster than Aretha Franklin on a Unicycle.

I hope Nelly comes correct this album. I wonder if The Neptunes tracks will actually make the cut. They worked with her on Loose and none of their songs made the final trakclist, or even leaked! I like what The Neptunes have been doing lately, so I’m kinda excited to hear what they give Nelly. In my opinion, some the joints Pharrell gave Madonna for Hard candy should have gone to Nelly – she would have much sounded better on them. Shit…anybody would! Nelly on “Incredible” = WIN!

    I’ll check it out.

Folklore is my fave Nelly album.

You should really get a different picture of Nelly for your next post on her, I think you’ve used this one for the past like, 5 posts lol.

Lol I have Ethan and I was thinking that as I posted, but you don’t know how hard it is to find a GOOD, recent-ish picture of Nelly. I thought I found some, but then her skin looked horrible and I knew people would diss her in the comments.

Nelly is one of the people I have the hardest time finding good, NEW pics for.

THE NEPTUNES AND PASSION PIT?!? SO EXCELLENT!!!!

Well, if The Neptunes can bring it like they used to, that is. Doubtful yet filled with hope from a lifetime fan… :’(

Use an old one. It’s always nice to remember past eras for artists, like Britney from BOMT – In The Zone.
