Nelly Furtado Drops “Waiting for the Night” Video, is Totally Over Pop Music

Please tell me the name of whoever footed the bill for another music video from Nelly Furtado‘s The Spirit Indestructible so I can stick my tongue inside of them. “Waiting for the Night” is one of my least favorite cuts from Spirit, but I’m just so happy to see that Nelly’s underrated gem of an album isn’t completely dead in the water just yet.
Despite The Spirit Indestructible being one of last year’s better pop albums, nobody bought it. Like, seriously, nobody. I think its total sales are actually somewhere in the minus. Because people would rather purchase trash like Unapologetic, Believe, and whatever Bruno Mars’ album is called, Nelly’s now ready to give up pop music for good. The songstress revealed the shocking news in a recent interview with The Huffington Post, basically revealing that she doesn’t want to try keep up with the kids and record business at her age, and would rather do something more musical. I can’t say that I’m too upset. More pop music from Nelly would obviously be fabulous, but whatever she puts out is going to be good anyway (check her discography, bitch), so it’s a win-win situation either way. I also love that she just doesn’t give a fuck and is going to do what she wants to do. Nelly is a true, independent, self-empowered kween oozing with integrity who deserves to be admired, emulated, and worshiped by all.
Haters to the left.
