Ne-Yo discusses new Beyonce album: “Nobody will be in her lane after this album!”

Beyonce recently confirmed to MTV that she is indeed recording her fourth album, while “Irreplaceable” songwriter Ne-Yo let slip on Twitter this week that he’s already managed to hit the studio with the booty popper. As you can imagine, it hasn’t taken long for more details about the upcoming disc to surface, with Ne-Yo elaborating some more on his collaboration with Bey during a new interview to promote his new album (that nobody seems to care about), Libra Scale.

“It’s coming along nicely. I can’t speak too much on it, but it’s another direction for her, and she’s carving out her own niche. In a minute nobody will be in Beyonce’s lane. They really can’t get in her lane now, but they really can’t get in her lane after this album.”

A ” new direction”? That’s strange, since, including Ne-Yo, all the other collaborators so far named for the album have all been people that Beyonce has previously worked with in the past.

Another interesting comment he made was stating that “nobody will be in Beyonce’s lane” after the album drops. True, but at the same time, not. Let’s have a look at Bey’s competition, shall we? Rihanna, Ke$ha and Katy are all primarily singles’ artists, so they’re out; Kelly Clarkson and Avril Lavigne’s careers have cooled off in recent years, so they’re out of the picture; Christina Aguilera released Bionic; Taylor Swift is too country; Alicia Keys is too R&B; Fergie and Gwen went back to their bands; and diva’s like Janet, Mariah and JLo are all past their prime now. So who does that leave?

Currently, Beyonce’s only real competition for the title of pop’s reigning princess, are Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and to a lesser extent, P!nk. Pink has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, had the stand out Grammy performance (as co-signed by Oprah), sold just as many copies of Funhouse as Beyonce did of Sasha Fierce (both albums spawned a #1 single on the Hot 100), has been the only female artist to sell out stadiums  this year, and her Funhouse tour easily out-grossed Beyonce’s I Am tour. However, despite Pink’s accomplishments, she still isn’t exactly viewed in the same glittery, pop star category as Beyonce and co, so until that changes, she’s unfortunately out of the running.

That leaves the legendary Britney Spears, and current superstar sensation Lady GaGa. Both women have spawned two #1 singles each over the past two years, as opposed to Beyonce’s one (“Single Ladies”). Both women dominate the social network Twitter, while GaGa also has Facebook under her belt. Britney had the highest grossing tour of the three, but GaGa is expected to come out on top by the time her ever-changing Monster Ball wraps up, proving that Britney and GaGa are bigger tour draws than Bey.

Britney ruled as pop’s ultimate princess for a good decade, but has now taken on a more reclusive role with less public appearances and little promotion, while GaGa is quite the opposite — out and about everywhere, and conquering absolutely everything in her path. The only thing Bey has both ladies beat on is making money and racking up awards, as evident by her gaggle of Grammy Awards and multi-million dollar fortune earned from TV commercials and endorsement deals.

However, despite Bey’s deep pockets and iron grip over the Grammy committee, all signs currently point to Lady GaGa reigning as the number one diva in the game for the next decade — not Bey or Miss “I’m allergic to promotion” Britney.

Do you think Bey will own the throne with the release of her fourth album, or does that title belong to somebody else?

and let’s take off gaga’s redicules outfits and bitchy voice what’s left ..
if you listen to amy winhouse you will see that her voice and gaga’s are quite the same ..but what does gaga have more that made her a sensation..IT’S THYE OUTFIT BABAYYY ..
and take britney’s dancing sakills and good performances (not anymore )
    what’s left..HER VOICE SUCKSSS
and she only wrote a couple of her songs so you can’t relate her songs to her that mutch ..
but beyonce even though ther’s a number of songs that she did’nt write you still can relate to her life and perdonality (like the song “cant take nomore wotch talks about haters and scandels)
beyonce is the vouce of the generation ..she’s perfect..
look at her …voice :chech ,body :check ,beauty :check ,intellegance: check .awesome performances :check .topping charts :check ,cuteness :check .
ther’s nothing that gaga does that beyonce can’t same for britney..
can’t deny that britney is an icon but a FAKE one ..she is not a singer and ya’ll know it .
    and for beyonce :
if you ever by chance ..when you not working your ass of for basters like haters and peaple who just make scandels about you just to fill in there free time ..don’t look and read it..
your so mutch more than a beauty and sexy body your a voice that i’ve never heard ..a creativity that i’ve never seen ..
and don’t make me start about the songwriting issue because it’s just bulshit..
GOD you haers ..;GO GET A LIFE

Its weird when people classify beyonce as pop? I would agree she has pop tendencies. I like most of these artist and know they’ll all do well i hate when people compare other artist. Notice its always women. People always want a cat fight between women, and the comments about Lady Gaga, Brittany, Beyonce and so on prove that. I hope they all do well simple as that.

First. Every award that has been giving to beyonce doesnt mea anything. Awards shows have become popularity contest that beyonce has always won even when she did not deserve it. There are underated artist out there who are more talented but are they ever mentioned? No they arent, so that leaves not that much competitiion for her, which is what she wants. And as far as Janet, Mariah, and Jlo go, they are women in their forties who dont have time to be competing with a youngin. And espeacilally Janet who has are been marked as a legend and icon…beyonce has a long long long way to go, along with learning how to be original. It just lets you know that when you have the right ppl, anything is possible

gaga and brit may rule the charts now. but no one can rock a stage like our miss fierce. i mean who can perform like that? o wait…no one. who has never been off point in one of her performances? yes…beyonce. mentioning brit and gaga in the same sentence as the iconic artist is ridiculous. gosh
