[Music Video] Sky Ferreira – Sad Dream

Sky Ferreira has premiered the music video for her Lynchian/Dylany acoustic ballad “Sad Dream”, the opening track from her must-hear EP Ghost (review here).

The pouty, wide-eyed songstress zips around rural America in the visual with an unidentified man, sleeping in fleabag motels, stealing from convenience stores, and shootin’ guns out in the open. She remains sulky throughout all of these activities, only cracking a brief smile when playing with a happy pooch.

The clip is a trip because it’s difficult to figure out just who Sky’s partner-in-crime is supposed to be. A lover? An older brother? A young father? A wigless Nicki Minaj without makeup? It’s a real mystery.

    I really liked Sky Ferreira when she first came out. For me she looked like a perfect popstar who new exactly who she was and wanted to be. But now a bunch of songs have been released I feel like she doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t have an identity at all. It’s cool to look for your own musical direction in the studio but don’t release all the experimental stuff cause people wouldn’t recognize you anymore.

    Choose a leading genre Sky, the “Everything Embarrassing”, “One” direction please.

    This new direction she is going is not really interesting.. but I’m happy she is finally releasing videos and music again. I really hope she makes a video for “Lost in My Bedroom”.. I like pop Sky.
