[Music Video] Kylie Minogue – Flower

Kylie Minogue has unveiled the official music video for her new single “Flower”. The ballad is lifted from Kylie’s upcoming compilation album, The Abbey Road Sessions, which is a reworked orchestral collection of Kylie’s hits.

Yeah, I’ll be giving it a miss too, but it’s for the fans and is being released to celebrate Kylie’s 25th anniversary in the music biz, so it’s cute for those reasons.

“Flower” is the only ‘new’ song on the album. Kylie wrote it about her desire to have a child, so you can just call it her very own version of “Someday (I Will Understand)”. The heartfelt ballad has attained something of a legendary status amongst Kylie’s gayest and most hardcore fans since the songstress performed it on her X tour years ago, so if you have anything negative to say about, I advise you to hold your tongue — the last thing you want is one of Kylie’s loyal kweens coming for your wig.

Trust me, I know.

The song’s music video is really beautiful — probably one of Kylie’s best in years. The Princess of Pop looks gorgeous, and it’s good for people to see another side of her, even this is essentially just a single for her most ardent fans.

I don’t know how Kylie does it but she just gets better and better with time. Madonna should learn from Kylie when it comes to aging gracefully.

The video is great! It really contributes to the song, which is pretty nice ballad too…

she’s also grown musically and makes quality music without chasing trends. and i’m a huge madonna stan…or was, maybe.

i could totally see the middle aged (white) gays losing their shit to this lol.

    Spot on.

Kylie understands that when she gets 5 years older so do her fans and her music reflects this growth.

Lets be honest, 12 year old girls are not checking for a 50+ year old Madonna so why does she still try to appeal to them completely alienating her loyal (and growing older) fan base?

I’ve been listening to this song for the past week, it’s really beautiful :) I might buy the album, I liked the arrangements and stuff and I’m glad Kylie is doing what makes her happy but I’m looking forward to her next studio album next year too :D

As for Madonna, I bought “Confessions… ” yesterday and that album is fucking flawless, mature, dark in places and obviously a lot of effort was put into it and it’s so good as too appeal to young people as well as her older (AKA not teen) fans but “MDNA” is the polar opposite tbh, I agree she needs to stop trying to appeal to tweens and concentrate on her core audience, if the music is good enough everyone will love it.

Stunning song! I dare someone to direct venom at her!
