[Music Video] Kimbra – “Two Way Street”

The whole Kimbra situation is so funny. She spent so long as a struggling indie-pop songstress releasing flawless songs like “Cameo Lover” and “Settle Down” that nobody seemed to give a fuck about, then dropped one of the most critically-acclaimed pop albums of last year, but it took until she was No. 1 on the Hot 100 with Gotye until anybody would even give her the time of day.

Fuck y’all, but better late than never, right?

With all the interest in her now, Kimbra is still plugging Vows, releasing a music video for the album’s fourth single “Two Way Street” late last week.

This wouldn’t have been my top pick for next single, but the music video has completely changed my mind. Kimbra looks beyond beautiful in the fantasy-themed visual, which is a bit like a non-horrible version of Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake” clip that’s been made for people over the age of 8.

KimbrAllah slaying.

‘Vows’ is such an incredible album – it’s easily one of my favourites in a a while. I love this song, and I love this video. Slayed.

She’s pretty amazing. Saw her live as the opening act for Foster The People recently & the crowd was really into her! This is a great song & video :)

Not really feeling her voice … but I will say this for her, her musical style is off the hook …. I wish more artists were original like her.

So this is werid I’m trying really hard but I haven’t like anything of hers, is like the songs have something good but it doesn’t amazed me, I enjoy more her featurings on Miami Horror, Gotye (wich I listen to the album and I’m gonna fucking buy it cause I love it) and her song with Mark Foster and A-Trak for converse, than I enjoy her solo stuff, I can see her in big but her music is not, at least on my point of view, she should work on next album with those same people she was featuring artist so she can have the “it” sound that is missing on her album

I’ve always preferred the live version of this over the studio version, but the song is fantastic either way. The mv is absolutely stunning; could have done without the shots of her literally walking down the street in slow mo though. Really took me out of the fantasy.

It’s the style of make-up that has all these white girls looking like Lady Gaga/Kreayshawn/Natasha Bedingfield, right? Take it away and they don’t all look like each other, do they?
