[Music Video] Girls’ Generation – All My Love Is For You

It took me a while to appreciate the flawlessness of Girls’ Generation‘s last Japanese single “Paparazzi”, but their latest effort, a gorgeous ballad titled “All My Love Is For You”, has won me from the get-go.

Technically, “All My Love Is For You” is actually the b-side for the group’s upcoming as-yet-untitled new Jap single, but I’m so besotted with it that I’d be happy to see it upgraded to an A-side.

It’s the kind of nondescript radio-friendly song I’ve heard a tonne of times in J-Pop before (who got it from American pop), but its a solid formula that really works when executed correctly. SNSD sound beautiful, positively bursting with all their usual girl next door charm as they switch between solo lines and lush harmonies. The production, a Ryan Tedder-esque drum beat with orchestral splashes, has just enough oomph to stay in ballad territory without sounding like a typical slow-motion snoozer (a boring crime that many Asian pop ballads commit).

But as much as I love the song, I have to admit that it’s the music video that’s really grabbed me. Girls’ Gen somehow get hotter and more stunning with every passing era, and this video takes their beauty up another notch following The Boys era. As a whole, the clip is definitely inspired by Paula Abdul’s “Cold Hearted”, with a spacious studio setting complete with convenient scaffolding ready to pose on. The fashion, which is pretty hip and edgy –especially for SNSD– is rooted in the late eighties and early nineties, with Sunny serving up some serious Paula realness in a black ensemble and cap.

I could sit here all day listing how ridiculously gorgeous each member looked, but truthfully, they all looked spectacular. There isn’t another girl group on the planet that radiates the same kind of youthful elegance and pure beauty that Girls’ Generation do.

Expect SNSD to stun us all over again when the music video for their A-side track drops later this month.

STUNNING. They all look like angels, I cant get over how stunning they all look, even Grossica and HOyeon!

The song is amazing and I like it so much better than Paparazzi.

OH! I thought this was their 2nd single, I totally love it, but knowing there is another song coming up later this month, makes me long for it, too. I think they are growing and maturing so gracefully, and that´s awesome, I´m tired to see young female artists starting cute and then turning trashy with time. Girls Generation are the exception :)

Can they just announce the A-side already? Not here for ballds!

  • FreakyFlyBri

This is actually one of the few SNSD ballads I’ve actually liked! It sounds like something Ryan Tedder may have produced, I’m getting major Kelegend Clarkson “Already Gone” vibes when I listen to it. With each passing day and new single release I inch closer and closer to becoming a full-fledged SONE. <3

Gawd, the correct hairstylist for Hyo finally got released from the cage. Thank you for getting her locks right.

They make me lose every ounce of my self-esteem when I watch their MVs which means they look damn gorgeous. Definitely adding this to the playlist. GG never disappoints with the J-releases.

I love the song. Totally agree with the Paula Abdul comparison since yesterday when I first saw it.

  • twinkle9

    I really hate SNSD ballads.

  • Alex

It’s surprising that this is only the second time they’ve release an MV for a ballad. It was worth the wait.

  • norimix1

They slayed me with this song..

  • Sol

I thought I was the only one who was getting Cold Hearted Snake teas lol. I’m not a fan of the song. But they look gorgeous in the video. I’m excited for the next single.

After all the T-ara hating I’m really happy there’s still love left in the world so SNSD can get their serving every time they breath

Slayed. Slayed. This was released around 6am in my timezone, so it was definitely a beautiful morning for me, heh. Although the lack of an intro (not even footsteps, really) gave me a minor heart attack, I enjoyed the song nonetheless. Props to their Japanese stylists, all the girls look wonderful. This isn’t the first time I’ve wished for a ballad as an A-side track, but I have high expectations for the upcoming track, I do. GG <3

Indeed, but a somewhat happier, brighter version? I found out that the MV too was recorded pretty much a day after Time Machine. Hmm….

Once again, Hyo and Sooyoung get 0 lines. Other than that, it’s flawless.

The girl who sings second is the classiest and the most beautiful.

i am kinda bored with these kinda recycled stuffs. i need my self a dosage of Sunny Hill ASAP!

  • norimix1

Am I the only one who thinks that the dances shown in this MV is a hint about the upcoming unnamed single/MV?
SM loves to drop or plant hints for the fans to salivate and gnaw over..

Nice ballad from SNSD showing the vocals of some of the girls.

As the Prophet explained, this is the B-side for their new single release. Most singles in Japan usually come with 2 songs, the lead single (A-side) and a secondary song (B-Side). Girls Generation have actually been releasing only 1 song in most of their single releases, for example their last single only had one new song on it – “Paparazzi” + instrumental of “Paparazzi”.

In some other SNSD news, Girls Generation just released their ’2nd Japanese Tour’ schedule which will start in Feb 2013. This probably means a new Japanese album will be coming out in late January/February 2013.

If you are talking about the girl at 0:38 in the vid, her name is Seohyun.

  • CCSub

If you look at their hairstyles / hair color like Taeyeon’s blonde hair, you know it was filmed the same time as during their filming for ‘Time Machine’

they look FLAWLESS, queen hyoyeon looks hotter by the day! and the ballad is great as ballads can be… but the video is fucking boring.

    Thanks

  • twinkle9

who knows maybe in the end of the year.

Their Japanese pronunciations still need some more working but other than that great music once again from this group. They release better music in Japan than in their own country honestly.
