[Music Video] Drake Feat. Rihanna – “Take Care”

Drake and Punching Bag‘s “Take Care” is one of the best songs of the year. It’s been blowing up all over the place for a few months now, hitting Platinum sales in the US and double Platinum in Australia, so it’s a relief that we’ve finally got a visual to go along with the mega-smash.

Directed by Yoann Lemoine, who shot Lana Del Rey’s stunning “Blue Jeans” clip and Katy Perry’s heartwarming “Teenage Dream”, “Take Care” is simple in concept. Drake and Ms. Black Eyes spend most of the visual embracing amidst muted tones, while arty slow-motion shots of animals and dancers are intercut with the couple’s lovey-dovey moments.

My baby Drake looks finer than fine (you do not wanna know the unholy ish I would do to this man if given half the chance) and Rihanna switches up her wig game quite nicely, sporting a blonde mop on her head instead of the brown hair she’s been rocking for the first half of the Talk That Talk era.

Flawless video for a flawless song by from flawless baby daddy. I need to trade places with RiRi, like NOW.

Will you ever like Rihanna again?

Should I be ashamed that I’m warming up to her again, because of her explanation on the press and I am even listening to TUTM and BC?

  • Mel R

Brilliant video with brilliant metaphors. I would assume that the bison being bombarded with arrows is a metaphor for the  damage that Chris Brown has done to Rihanna’s huge, bison-like forehead. The parrot must represent drakes latent homosexuality forever lingering over him, further evidenced by the conflagration consuming the forest. The forest has burned down; he is no longer able to hide it.
But in all seriousness, I’m just pressed because Rihanna’s nasty stiff cardboard wig wearing ass still has a a career, and Drake’s “thumb w/ eyebrows” looking ass is conquering the charts despite the fact that all he ever raps about is some bitch that left him. Honestly, I don’t get why people find him attractive. He looks like Oscar (from shark tale). Maybe it’s the pussy eating lips? Okay enough hating. I do like the song though, even if it is just one large Bobby Bland sample.

*Stans may now proceed to call me pressed*

  • Heavymetallamb

this video was a let down. so boring -_-

  • SerferTJ

It’s “pretty” and “artistic”, but overall, just boring and hella predictable. With this song, he definitely had the ability to make a great story with the video, but instead he just used it as an excuse to hug up on his ex. lol

p.s. I was CRACKLING at that Water Buffalo!!!! Like…of all of the animals…why??? LMAO

  • JammySmoochie

    BAHAHAHA! Punching bag! lol

  • Dankai17

Such a dodgy vid for an awesome song! Sure, RiRi and Drake are looking good, but it’s such a bore! Don’t like the artistic concept at all; it’s just so dull for a good slow dance track like this one!

  • ChinUmma

I wonder how the bison would look with RiRi’s stiff-ass wig… And Papa D needs to stop inhaling those Whoppers ’cause I like my boys muscular, not chunky. Great song, but the MV is fucked up, as usual.

  • Abz

I don’t think it’s funny or appropriate to be calling Rihanna those names at all. You may not like her but that isn’t cool.

It’s all symbolic and those were zodiac signs, Chris Brown is a Taurus (Bull), Rihanna is a Pisces and yes the Blue Jay was there as Drake is a Torontonian.

  • Typical!

agreed – there’s constructive criticism and just bitchin cause u think it what u readers want to hear and believe me Proph still likes Rihanna, but doesnt want to be called a hypocrite after he tried to bucott her so he’s just a slave to himself and his readers instead of being the “it’s my blog & I can change my mind if i want to” guy he used to be. Tip-ycal!

  • theprophetblog

Dead! Please, as if i’m that lame to change my personality to appease a bunch of people i don’t even known you put way too much thought into this. trust me i don’t give a fuck about riri either way these days. i saw a side of her i didn’t like so i moved on and have since focused my stanning on kelegend clarkson and fiona apple, aka two classy, talented, and respectful female artists.

  • Kbay

Proph actually loves rihanna. But after the chris brown remix he jst lost a lot of respect for her like many other people.

  • Kbay

I fuckin love the video. Its amazing!!!!!!!

  • Typical!

    Ouch – think i touched a nerve!

This is a poor version of the Woodkid video – Iron, with a little of Till the end of time by Timothy Bloom. It’s pretty, in the same way that Iron is amazingly gorgeous. But it lacks everything else.

  • BritneyLover

    Loving the video :)

  • SerferTJ

LMAO at Drake shading her relationship like that!!!!

lol, DAMN! I hope that Rihanna knows that Drake is using this video to diss her and her ex (that she’s trying to get back).

  • Edge

Been listening to this song since it first leaked. The video goes great with it. Some people say it’s boring but that’s bull. This clip is art, and the song’s a smash.

  • http://makemeyourstereoheart.tumblr.com/ ヅ♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ -ΛalexisR-♩ ♪ ♫ ♬ ヅ

Rihanna doesn’t want Chris though hahaha. At least not right now. She’s milking those rumours though.

  • Davidsask

I had no idea that you were so gay for Drake, Oh Canada?

  • http://twitter.com/taylorronald Ronald Taylor

    Totally see Iron in this.

  • http://twitter.com/taylorronald Ronald Taylor

OMG I can’t! The shade! *DEAD*

  • http://twitter.com/taylorronald Ronald Taylor

I don’t get what some people are hating on the video. And Drake is fine. He looks even better in person. A little faggy when drunk. <3

  • Paultje

My oh my I bursted out in laughter when I read drake’s and punching bag’s

I’m assuming this clip will be the “Rolling in the Deep” for 2012. Very minimalist video with strong but simplistic imagery that helps the viewer interpret the meaning of the song.

  • http://twitter.com/souzaYan Yan Souza

    beautiful.

  • Trevor Szuba-Schneider

I appreciate this minimalist video.  Less is always more.

But it wasn’t very evocative, except for the slow shots zooming in and out on Rihanna and the man falling with debris.

I have always loved Rihanna’s feature on this song.  So chill and cool.

Ever since Drake met Rihanna in the corner deli in the What’s My Name video I have always felt his breath must perpetually smell of Falafel…

I don’t find him all that attractive.  Sorry.  No hate, just opinion.
