[Music Video] Crystal Kay – “Delicious na Kinyoubi”

I loved Crystal Kay‘s last single “Superman”. I played the crap out of that song and even bought it on iTunes, but it flopped on the Oricon Charts harder than Lady GaGa’s donkey dick. I don’t know why the Japanese people have cooled on Kween Crystal when she’s still serving up defining tunes, but the Blasian beauty’s been on a chart slide for a few years now and it’s totally not okay with me.

I’m sure Crystal and her new label are hoping to turn things around with the release of her latest (and totally incredible) new single “Delicious na Kinyoubi”, which just had its music video premiere today.

I certainly haven’t seen every Crystal Kay music video under the sun, but the ones I have been unfortunate enough to view were so cheap that they made Beyonce’s $2 I Am Sasha Fierce visuals look like Michael Bay blockbusters. I don’t know where Crystal all of a sudden got all this cash from, but somebody must be making it rain because “Delicious na Kinyoubi” looks absolutely amazing. With all the bright colors and the beautiful sets, I almost felt like I was watching KARA’s “STEP” MV instead of one of Crystal’s Motorola cellphone clips. In fact, if you stuck “STEP” inside of a bowling alley, then you’d get ”Delicious na Kinyoubi”.

The song itself is fantastic and a great follow-up to “Superman”. I have no idea what “Delicious na Kinyoubi” actually means or what she’s singing about since the translations haven’t hit the web yet, but I know that I fucking love it. It’s so bubblegum and feel-good, and even the generic techno-dubstep breakdown sounds flawless.

The one minor flaw I could find was the choreography during the breakdown. Crystal looked like she was just doing a more energetic version of that jumping thing that Rihanna calls dancing when she performs “We Found Love”, and I know that Crystal can come harder than that.

Other than that, “Delicious na Kinyoubi” is a perfect strike for CK! (I wanted to put in some kind of bowling reference because of the video…)

    Kinoyoubi means Friday, so all together it means Delicious Friday. I’m assuming it makes more sense in Japanese. It’s basically just a song about having fun and living life to the fullest. It’s kind of cheesy, but I love Crystal, and after repeated lessons I like the song. As for the dancing, she’s never been that great of a dancer, but as of late she has definitely stepped up her game. Crystal isn’t great with foot work; hence the breakdown; Although she did bring it with superman.  

    To those of you who are not familiar with her music, I suggest you check out All Yours if you haven’t already. It’s a damn good album, that snatches the wigs of every  R&B songstress that released an album in 2007. Her follow up to All Yours is pretty good as well, which is entitled Color Change.  It’s a crime from color change is still a banger that gets repeated lessons from me.

    It doesn’t look like it has any higher of a budget than Superman, if anything, it looks lower. It just looks better because of all the colors, to me. I love it either way. And the song. I wish she wasn’t flopping!

    After the mess that was “Spin the Music” she’s taken us back to that
    Classic CK sound and updated it with a modern twist with this and
    “Superman” :D
    She looks amazing in the video (that Stripy dress,
    DAMN!) and she’s constantly stepping her dancing up thanks to Rino. This
    better be a hit on Oricon or Japan needs to shut itself off from the
    world for annother 300 years…

    Nah Kirakuni looked cheap AF. IT looked they just rented out some low class Japanese whore house for 2000 yen, and she looked like a cheap Japanese prostitute with bad make up throughout the video. Also, the choreo was wack, and could hardly be called dancing. Plus the scenes where there was a green screen looked fucking cheap as hell.

    RECeipts? I don’t take peoples word on things such as success goes for singers! What may be success to u is different for next person! Ameriie has established herself in both Asian and American markets. She’s also well-known throughout Europe. So u didn’t prove any points!     Success as in Crystal has sold more albums, had more than one hit single… I mean, i like Amerie but she hasn’t had an actual hit since “1 thing” and she isn’t that great of a singer either, Crystal on the other hand is an awsome singer and has 5 Platinum albums and 2 Gold albums and has tons of more than one hit. And FYI Japan is the 2nd biggest music market in the world and it doesn’t matter where your selling albums as long as you are. Crystal has sold more albums in Japan than Amerie has combined in America, Europe or Korea (yeah she has ONE Gold album in Korea which is for like sales of 5,000 so she hardly cracked Asia lol).
    You really need to have a seat.
