[Music Video] Brandy feat. Chris Brown – Put It Down

Brandy‘s new single has received a mixed-reception so far, but I don’t mind it. I mean, it’s cute for like, a random R&B song. The music video just premiered, and much like the song, it’s cute, but nothing to lose your weave over.

The ageless Brandy brings her braids back and looks beautiful, while Chris Brown looks like sexy trailer trash. The two werk ‘n’ twerk it to the mildest degree, sometimes in front of a car, sometimes in front of a green screen. The much talked about Frank Gatson choreography is too simple, even for Brandy, and director Hype Williams drenches half the video in that generic blue tinge that’s used in every urban music video under the sun.

Brandy has been hyping the shit out of this visual for the past month like it’s the next “Thriller”, but the final product is nothing more than your standard, solid R&B clip.

Overall, I’ve seen better, and I’ve seen worse.

    I’m mad the way homegurl hyped up her dancing only to do a little cute shimming or whatever the hell that was. Also the video looks kinda low budget. I’m rooting for her though..I don’t want her to flop. I mean Monica doesn’t really give a fuck anymore since she’s happy and content with her life..but I know Brandy was really upset with her last flop, so I hope she wins this time.

    Whoever gave this song to her should have been shot. Brandy should hop on a plane, get S.Tiger to cook her up a ‘Circus World’ 2.0, get back on the plane and release it in the US.

    Is this the same Hype Williams that did Rock the Boat? Put It Down mv is ok… Just i don’t get it, why can you barely see Brandy’s face or the other dancers. All this hype and not much to show for it. I just can’t…. onto the next song please. Here’s hoping Brandy’s album is better. PLEASE BE BETTER

    I actually really it! It captures the fun youthful energy of the song and brandy looks absolutely stunning .. She’s no dancer but she deff had the ability to do a lil more.. but I’m seriously loving the new sassy confident brandy! More of it please!

    Well…uhm…I really love Brandy I really do. And she completely slayed me with the braids. God knows she should rock them more often and bring back that style. Plus…what’s with Bran hyping up the dancing…that was nothing. She gave me nothing.

    But I don’t know…I think had this video come out like 1 month after the song dropped in April, I’d be all over this shit. But I really don’t care about it anymore…I’m ready for her to just move on, give us a 2nd better single and a fresh video to boot, and simply release that damn album already and promote the shit out of it.

    This was just unnecessary. I still think she should have simply went with this song as a buzz track, and go with a much tighter song.

    I know breezy is an asshole, and I tend to like some of his music, so I can’t really front and all…but I gotta say…the mothafucker looks banging hot…I’d do him in a heartbeat. But hands down to those nipples…being weird pink and sore. LMAO

    I don’t care what you or they say I STAN for this vid and STAN for Ms. Brandy! LOV the video lov the song even more for it… I have watched it several times today and I am LMAO at the 90′s realness and moesha vibes that this gives me…. Brandy is working hard and I have to love her for it. she is stayin with this single and giving it the best that she got like good music and musicians used to do back before itunes, and ipods and david guetta, and pop/dance euro mixes meets hip hop mash up and R&B was pure and real… and artists promoted and worked their singles and attentions spans were longer than 5 minutes and a song was not called a flop if it didn’t catapult to number one in 1 day and sell 500,000 copies digitally on ITunes…

    God it’s been so long since Brandy’s done something as fresh as this – I like it, and her voice sounds good. I forget how unique it is. Ugh the video isn’t very good though and Chris Brown of all god-awful people to feature? Gorl plz. Unf, he is hot though. But yeah, those nipples are jacked.
