[Music Video] Azealia Banks – 1991

Azealia Banks serves up more ’90s realness with the fourth and final video from her 1991 EP, “1991″.

This clip has a hip ’90s supermodel theme, with shots of Azealia grooving around on a photoshoot and channeling early Aaliyah by wearing shades in the recording booth.

A true Kween.

Love her.

No flaws to be found.

Etc.

It’s weird how she seems so cute and innocent in interviews.

Not doing it for me, but the video is fantastic.

She’s establishing herself in a very smart and unique way. Her music is somewhat different from the Billboard top 10 chart sounds we hear everyday…and I LIKE IT!!! Her flow is ON POINT, she’s PRETTY, and she’s actually FUN to watch!!
I’m still surprised about the quality and artistic direction of this music video given the apparent low-budget. VERY GOOD JOB: “No flaws to be found” indeed.
Miss Banks is here to stay!

    She’s free of flaws.

She’s so goddam FINE!!!!! I loved watching every second of this video!
Not a damn flaw in sight!
And lets be real, I’d be content watching a music video of her just eating cheesy nachos, but I hope one of her next videos has an actual story line with it. Especially “Luxury”!!!

You know, I was so hesitant with her because I heard about all the “beef” before I heard any of her tracks, but these vids and that mixtape and her Twitter have all gotten me hooked on her. I feel like she’s really fresh in so many respects, and this video is probably my favorite of hers so far. “1991″ isn’t my favorite jam, but it’s all quality shit here.

She is becoming the Aaliyah in rap form with her looks and sound. It works for her too without looking like a copy.

Her sound is abit left field, slick and perfect match with the beat much like Aaliyah. She also gives off just enough personality to make you want more.

When Azealia gets big I hope she dont lose what she has going on at the moment. Its classy rap even though its got language in it.

she’s AWESOME!! i like this song even if it is EQUAL 212. 212 > 1991, but the latter’s still fine.

No shade, but she’s actually directly channeling Crystal Waters in the “100% Pure Love” video.

This is better than I expected, her songs weirdly grow on me :)
    Plus it’s my year…1991 <3

I find it funny that this video has better dynamic and editing when it’s supposed to be mimicking a photoshoot, while the Van Vogue video actually felt like a behind-the-shoot video in terms of the camerawork. No shade to the K*nt Kween, this just affirms my belief that good photographer often does not equal good director. NOW GIVE ME THE BTS TO 1991

I think this is the best vid from the 1991 era. The dancers look so 90′s and the choreo and direction are really good. maybe its just b/c its my fav song from the ep…who knows. she’s just so sexy and beautiful. if her and GaGa had babies they would be perfect looking musical geniuses.

  • The Count.

Serve up that realness, gurl. Zero flaws detected.
