Mariah Carey lines up Angels Cry & Ribbon for future singles
Despite just releasing “I Want To Know What Love Is”, diva Mariah Carey has already planned out the future singles from her new album Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel. The album will see about four more singles released from it, which according to Roger Friedman will include the up-tempo “Ribbon” and the emotional ballad “Angels Cry”.
For the time being though Mariah is focusing on “I Want to Know What Love Is”, which has so far reached #66 on the Hot 100 and looks likely to make a huge jump when the album hits stores on September 29th.
I knew that “Angels Cry” was going to be a single, I even mentioned it in my review. I also think that “Ribbon” is a good choice for the younger urban crowd. The others singles will probably be “H.A.T.E.U.” and “Up Out My Face”. I thought she would’ve released “Standing O” but now that there’s the current controversy about her and The-Dream stealing the hook I don’t think she’ll risk releasing it.
Personally I’d like to see her release “Inseparable” because the lyrics are so Mariah and not Dream-a-fied like a lot of the other songs. Anyways I hope her albums debuts bit upon it’s release, even though I’m crazy in love with it I definitely like it and I’ll be listening to it for a while.

I’ll give it another listen when I’m feeling forgiving and dying to hear Mimi or something. But for now, ew.
i absolutely love her album due 2 the fact that i personally love the dreams taste in music (ie. electrick red) this album is way better then i thought it wud b n my fav tracK is deff…. H.A.T.E.U

i agree, Candy Bling should be single instead Ribbon, it’s the worst song in the album IMO
Candy Bling is my fave but it’s not a single type song.

Angles Cry is a good choice and I love Ribbon, but I think More Than Just Friends would make a better single than Ribbon for sure!
Im surprised that i actually enjoyed the album. After hearing Obsessed and Know What Love Is my expectations were on the floor but i was really surprised at how uncommercial it was.
I love Up Out My Face (mainly because of the reprise) and Its A Wrap (i know!).
Ribbon along with the two current singles are the most commercial on the album so im not really looking forward to it but its a good enough song.

i really really hope the other two singles are indeed H.A.T.E.U. and Up out my face, those songs are amazing and deserve to be released as singles, h.a.t.e.u. should be big in the charts, the song is brilliant
Angels cry is a beautiful song, hope they add the interlude in the video when they release it, and I’m not sure about ribbon, I really like the song, I think its excellent but I don’t see it as a single..I didn’t see ‘don’t forget about us’ as a single either, yet it went number 1..but I think candy bling, standing o, or inseparable or even betcha gon know could be better choices other than ribbon, even tho its still a good song.
i want up out my face or candy bling for her next single, and with regards to the so called controversy regarding the standing o copying the korean song. not really.. not at all.
The songs don’t even sound similar… it’s just the O, Mariah should release Standing O instead of Ribbon… since it’s pure fire!
inseperable should have been the next single. Like you said Prophet, it could be the next we belong together. I dont like angels cry, but ribbon is alright. not sure how radio-friendly it is though.

And they definitely copied Standing O. It’s not mariahs fault tho. No shade to Mariah but it’s obvious she barely wrote any of this album. Almost all the lyrics are The-Dreams exact style 100%.
Just listen to his leaked demos for other artists, as well as his solo work etc and you can easily see how Memoirs is all him.
I’m she wrote Inseparable though, it sounds so much like her.
do you know for a fact that the dream wrote this entire album without mariah’s input? every song sounds like mariah wrote it she can get ghetto when she wants and has in the past. every song sounds like she wrote it, the lyrics scream mariah in every song. why you acting like you know for a fact that it was all dream? you’re twisted dude. its probably just pure coincidence the 2 songs sound the same, mariah ain’t one to swagger jack without giving credit to where credit is due. get over it.

Nearly all of the album was written by Mariah & The dream. Jim Wright did some work on the album as well, aside from i want to know what love is, he did betcha gon know, languishing, angels cry and angels cry prelude.
i liked ribbon a lot, i would like to see Standing O released, its my Fav track. languishing needs to be in the video version of the track some how.
if yu listen to the dreams version of HATE U its totally different from Mariahs version, she of course changed things, hence why it sounds more mariah.
