Mariah Carey keeps performing that old Foreigner song (this time on UK X Factor)
Despite having one of the worst music video’s ever made, Mariah Carey hasn’t given up on her “I Want to Know What Love Is” single just quite yet, stopping by UK’s X Factor to lip-sync perform it.
Was this live? Does it matter? Is it time for her to put this song to bed where it belongs?

75% lip 25% live. Her lips weren’t even in sync with the playback track & she was holding the mic so far away from her mouth. The dynamics of the song DID NOT match what she pretended to sing. smdh at the constant foolery!
Im always a little confused as to how live her performances have been lately.
Her vocals have been terrible (by her standards) for the last few years then suddenly over the last month or so she sounds amazing. Then again maybe this song suits her voice better. Her last album was filled with low vocal songs.

This was actually 85% live with little bits lipped like her other performances of the song.
She sings this really well and since her atrocious vocals in 2008 she has done so well vocally in 2009. Well done Mariah Carey.

Her backing singers are trained to imitate her voice. She records layers of her vocals when in the studio so that is why people think she lipsynchs parts of her songs.

Lots of lipping as usual, but the live parts were the best yet. Her tone has recovered a lot since the beginning of this era. I think she does about 50/50 live and lip, but this time the transitions were smoother than usual and she seemed really into it.
damn live or not i dont care atleast we dont hear someones else voice.
it was a total live performance, i dont understand why there is so much hate and criticism everytime mariah performs. cant we just be thankful and happy that after all those years she’s still relevant and singing and still incomparable.
Its totally live, its so obvious! The back-up singers just heavily layered the first chorus! Amazing performance! Bravo MC!
