So much wrong here. First of all 3/4 of Katy’s singles off the first album were top 10 hits. She doesn’t owe shit to Kesha. And Kesha’s album(s) are primarily dance/pop. Katy’s are not.

I only believed that because SHE SAID IT herself. I’m not. Fan at all so I could care less… Just found it funny that all the hype and this is what she puts out? Dead on the floor laughing… Laughing at the fact that her fans actually think she’ll be remembered!

Wow this really does sound like everything else on the radio. I can see why people are disappointed I’m not a Ke$ha fan myself, but even I can tell this sounds like a watered down Ke$ha just trying to get a hit.

The whole “Good Feelin” / “Levels” – meets – One Direction vibe is easy for me to overlook when the vocals, beat and melody all stick to me, but it’s the lack of lyrical zing that disappoints me more than anything. “Tik Tok”, “We R Who We R” and “Sleazy” had one quotable line after another. This one? Epic chorus aside, not so much.

    I guess not! haha

    Underwhelming

Im not a Kesha fan….i liked Take it Off! But i gotta admit that this song SCREAAAAMS HIT!!!

Memorable Hook and the beat is straight up made for radio! Kudos

Luke, what mountain did you just climb down from? If Katy isn’t dance/pop she is what? f*cking country music? please.

That’s the thing though, people were excited for this era because she made it sound like she was doing something progressive. “Rock influences,” she said. Then she goes and releases this generic piece of electro garbage indistinguishable from any song on Top 40 at the moment. This isn’t progressive, this is playing it safe.

It’s rare to see a pop star take risks these days. Once a particular formula works, everyone sticks with it and doesn’t move away. Nabbing a pop hit these days is as easy as getting Max Martin / Dr. Luke / Ester Dean / Sia, etc to whip one up for you. It’s a far cry from the likes of David Bowie, old-school Madonna or even Nelly Furtado, all of whom switched up their sound with each new release no matter how successful or unsuccessful their last era was – keeping themselves fresh and setting new trends in the process.

    thank god.

  • tre0980

But thats good leave the huge statement songs to her and. Trashy fun. Typical Top40 pop to kesha

This sucks. Mostly because it shines a huge spotlight on the fact that she can’t sing – and her talk-singing seems tired. Musically, it sounds like a reject from the last era. There is ZERO growth here.

hmm…really wanted to like this tune…oh well…(filing my nails, patiently waiting for tomorrow 9am). dIAMONDS are a boys elixir.

Very disappointed right now, this was one of the most anticipated songs of the year and she completely blew it. I know there has got to be better stuff on the record.. as usual RCA is playing it way to safe. She needs to bump this to a promo single and release something that is worthy of being a Ke$ha song.

Also I think it is safe to say that Dr. Luke has officially peaked.

    kinda sounds like starships.

The guitar riffs in the chorus sounds like it was lifted and rearranged from Flo Rida’s “Good Feeling”.
I was expecting a more “Rock and roll” type music from her as well… I guess its more of a compromise with her label.

In addition, the guitar riffs from “Good Feeling” sounds like it was lifted from Katy’s “Last Friday Night”. Thank you so much Dr. Luke….-_-

  • Please….

I love it that people already hate this song. Now let’s be completely honest, it is not at all what ke$ha promised, but let’s be real….we will be all dancing and singing at the top of our lungs in a couple weeks. It is classic ke$ha and what else could we expect!!

  • Luke

Is Teenage Dream a dance song? No. Is E.T a dance song? No. Is The One That Got Away a dance song? No. Is I Kissed A Girl a dance song? No. Is Thinking of You a dance song? No. Is Last Friday Night a dance song? Not really, no. Is Tik Tok a dance song? YES. Is Take It Off a dance song? Yes. Is WRWWR a dance song? Yes. Is Blow a dance song? YES. You were saying?

  • KingBeaArthur

Hmm…I don’t hate this but I’m not losing ma shit either

  • Pleasedieyoung

Who is this slaying????? Cuz it ain’t slaying anything/anyone I listen to.

  • http://ohdenny.com ohdenny

    Meh.

Laziest vocals of the year next to MDNA. I can see the FUN. guy coming into the studio, opening autotune — lowering a note here, and lifting a note there so it has some of the hooky affectation of his vocals on “We Are Young,” but Kesha had no part of it.. What happened to that incredible Bob Dylan cover she recorded on Garage Bank while drunk? That shit slayed my fucking life for at least a week. I wanted WAY more of that. You can’t create a classic rock feel in auto tune.

The song is boring. Elaborate enough?

  • http://www.facebook.com/JamesFluker James Alexander Fluker

    Nah.
